1963 i visited liberia and fall in love in a wonderful girl who worked in sw. ambassy. this song werhe number one at that time .and now i have found it again. i am so happy. thank you LORD
These songs were made for us kenyans... That time when kenya was rich and powerful.... Times when everyone admired Kenya..... Jambo kenya? Hakuna matata.... Maasai Mara Safari.... 😭 I'm Nostalgic right now
Kudos, Kanda Bongo Man, for the beautiful "My Love Elisabeth"! By the way, Sooliman Earnest. Rogers (aka S.E. Rogie), a Sierra Leonean, now deceased, did the original "My Lovely Elizabeth" in the late 1960s--S.E. Rogie played the Sierra Leonean genre called "Palm Wine Music," mainly, and "Highlife." Kanda Bongo Man performed a couple of times in Freetown, Sierra Leone, from the late 1980s well into the 1990s and was friends with the country's then-leading artist, Jimmy B. "My Love Elisabeth" came thereabout that time. I had the pleasure of hosting him at home twice, thanks to Jimmy B, and he took photos with my then-young sons. Not sure if he's still active in music, but he undoubtedly ranked among Africa's finest, in addition to being dapper always on and off stage.
When music was real 😇😇😇 My mum instilled in Me the love rhumba musica Am 20 years now no regrets... My fellow youths are busy tetemaring n dundaing 😂😂😂

The reason I never buy into modern music where they show off more than they sing. Sweet relaxed music...Sweet love! I love rumba always....Therapeutic!Soothing!
I listen to this song countless time. And I dedicate it to my darling, Elizabeth .....love Kanda. Even at times I feel like re-doin it.Who can authorise me?
FYI, this music is a remake (a very good one at that) of the Sierra Leonean music great, S.E. Rogers' (now deceased), original song: 'My Lovely Elizabeth', based on a true life love experience. It remains an evergreen (classic) African piece worldwide even after several decades of its debut on the global music scene. Enjoy it.
I was writing a song inspired by this song, and it is my favorite and most memorable Kanda Bongo Man song. I was researching the song, and then I found original by S.E.Rogie ( Rogers) and S.E. Rogie is my relative. Wow. Is that not amazing!
Christine Achieng hahaha my sister think and think and also know how to look. the main tactic : don't rush or be rushed into love and romance it's a trick men use to have their way and control the relationship. love is a battle my dear but most slumber and sleep.take your time play your game very well.take even years to know someone if you want the best for yourself
Ruth Moira Musevenzi hahaha have been single like forever.i use to hear people saying if you lost your first love there is no chance for you to find another true love now have agreed with them lol.am giving up on it
This song reminds me back in 1993 when we dance to this very tune without really knowing its exact meaning but now i know. Real love used to exist then
