Great video! Nice and easy to follow and an inspiration for my own videos to come as well!
Great to hear!!! Thank you so much for leaving a comment and watching the video.
@@nerdknights1122 Love the comment about sponsors too! Something we all want!
Awesome shades of yellow and brown, I love it!!!
Thank you so much again Ric
The yellowish brown really makes it pop more than the deeper brown Hatchets you usually see. Very nice! :)
Rage Badger Gaming thank you so much. Greatly appreciate the compliment.
Great job. Looking forward to the remaining minis!
Awesome! Will have them out soon!!! Thank you for the support and following the channel.
Great job! One of the best I've seen. Nice walk through on how you did it. I'm looking forward to seeing your take on the other character from Jaws of the Lion
Anthony C Thank you so much Anthony. I should have the Viodwarden done this weekend and posted next week.
Anthony C This is my dad video this is my dad’s video
I've never painted a mini before but had to after how awesome your Hatchet looks! I followed your instructions and just finished today! Can't wait for the others so I can follow along with those as well. Thx for the great instructions!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. If you have IG I want to see your mini. Just tag me in it @Nerd.Knights. Thank you for watching. I’ll be posting the other minis soon.
Excellent job✌
Thank you so much. I should have the second episode out for Jaws of the Lion by next Friday.
Loving your videos so far. Easy to follow. Clear, sharp HD so we can actually see what you are doing. You don't do everything with an airbrush, and your painting is top notch! Keep em coming!
I’m so glad you like them. Going to have some more coming up. If there’s anything you would like to see or that I can improve on please let me know.
I'm partway through your tutorial and painting along. Thanks for taking the time! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you are able to paint and post the rest...hint hint hint:)
Hey Brian thank you for the support. I’m working on the void warden right now and should have that video out soon.
Can you also just put a base coat of Mournfang Brown by using a regular brush if you don't own an airbrush?
This looks great! Good job!
Mel At Rob's Gaming Table thank you so much!!!
Bro i have never painted every but thanks to your vid i think ima dive into it. That Hatchet looks epic and my little brother wants to play him so i think ima do it as a surprise for him. Keep up the great work and i would love to see instructions for all classes for JotL and GH
Hey Christian
Thank you so much for the support and the watching the video. Keep an eye out for the Frosthaven series I will be posting.
Absolutely rockin' tutorial, man. One small critique: could you use more soothing and low key music? The techno was distracting. Otherwise, great work!
Hey Rick
This was one of my first main videos I did. I have since switched to more ominous tones and less techno music. Appreciate the support and leaving a message. See you for the Frosthaven tutorials if you’re painting for them.
Awesome video, helped me get mine looking awesome. You doing any more?
Hey Charlie thanks for checking out the video. I should be done with the next video by Friday and have it released some time around there.
That is amazing work. Thanks for posting a link to this video at the Primal: The Awakening Kickstarter.
Thank you so much! Greatly appreciate the kind words and I’m honored you subscribed to my channel!
Tuned in for some color scheme ideas & absolutely loved that comment you made: "We're not gonna win any awards, but shit... who cares?" My thoughts exactly ;-) Looks good btw!
Ha glad you liked it! Thank you for checking out the video!
Awesome video keep it up 💪💪💪
Thank you so much!!! Should have the last one out by next week!
Totally going to follow your guide - A quick tip for people like me: Can you put a list of paints used in the description? This makes it easier for folks to know what they need ahead of time instead of having to re-watch a bunch of times to read the small paint text.
Yeah absolutely. Good call on that. I’ll do it for the next video. Thank you for watching and I’ll make sure to credit you on the next video.
Added the list of paints today. Thank you for the tip.
ill consider bringen The Hatchet over to Frosthaven, he was that much fun to play
I really enjoyed playing Hatchet
But I doubt it’s going to be crossover from Jaws to Frosthaven
@@nerdknights1122 why not ? He is straight forward. No fance mechanics, no special rules
@@Memmnarch1981 I just think they're going to have so many new characters to play that I want to try the new ones.
Hey man. I love your tutorials but the only thing that really annoys me is that electric music in the background , specially when painting along and having to go back several times in the video. After an hour session it drives me crazy!
Hey Port, first off thank you for watching the videos and leaving a comment. I totally understand what you're talking about. I guess I didn't factor in the annoyance factor of the music when doing a playback. If you can do me a favor and check out one of my new videos "How to Paint Chance" and let me know what you think of the ominous tones I have on that video instead of the EDM. Thanks again for watching and the feedback. Much appreciated.
@@nerdknights1122 Just want to say I totally agree with his annoyance with the music, at least in this video. haven't watched any of your others yet.
@@TimByrd this was one of my first videos so I was still experimenting with the sound. I have sense dulled it down a ton.
I'm a newb to this hobby and wondering how to do the brown prime coat without an airbrush?
You can always get a flat brown can of spray paint from your local hardware store. I am all about saving money so I don't think this exactly necessary unless you're planning on using it for other miniatures in the future. You could always paint the undercoat on first then do the main coat on the outside. Also you could just keep the undercoat a primer black and be completely fine. Airbrush isn't crucial on this miniature just something a little extra. Hope this helps- Matt
Good vid. Annoying music.
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you so much. Giving you a shout out on the next video coming out tomorrow!
This looks so cool! Quick question: when you say 2 part this, 1 part that, is that basically saying your mixing 2 drips of one paint with 1 from another?
Hey Beast thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment. That’s exactly what it means or if you’re using brush fulls.
@@nerdknights1122 ohh gotcha, thank you :)
So, ....
How much would you charge me if I just sent you my minis?
This is brilliant work!
Thank you so much for the support. Contact me on my Instagram @Nerd.Knights
Great video! Hatchet looks amazing! What brand of miniature holder are you using?
Thank you so much! I’m using the GW holder. Works great!
it's kind of hard to see which paint you're using, it would be really helpful if you could include a list in the video description
Yeah I am going to update the paint list on this video. I started adding them after this video. I’ll make sure to update this one as soon as I get a chance. Thank you for watching.
I added a list of the paints used in the video and a time stamp system to skip ahead if you only want to watch certain parts.
@@nerdknights1122 Thanks!

Thank you so much for your guidance!
what brushes do you use? still not happy with any I've tried. Keep losing the point quickly and looking for something not as soft
TXMeeple99 I use Rosemary and Co brushes. They are reasonable priced and are amazing in quality. They have a ton of miniature brushes on their website.
why the music tho
Thanks for watching the video Bill. The music is a little music. It will be different for Frosthaven. Non the less, thanks for tuning in!
Greetings. Thanks a lot for the video, it's exactly the kind of example I was looking for, but I must ask... why tell me to put on some music if you're going to play your own obnoxious music over the video? It would've been great to be able to listen to your comments on the painting process, but the music was a big turnoff for me :/
Edit: Just checked a more revent video of yours, and the music there is a lot more calm and quiet. It probably helps no one to point out a "mistake" you've already figured out, but hey, maybe I can help make the algorithm happy this way.
Yeah, this was early in my painting videos. I really messed up the sound on this. Newer videos are just calming sounds while painting.
God I wish the music wasn't there blaring over what you're saying. Oh well, I got the gist muted too.
Yeah I know. This was one of my early videos I did when I started on TH-cam. I promise when Frosthaven comes out it won't be bumpin at volume 12.
man. this music is annoying
Yeah I know. It was early in my painting video career so mistakes were made. I promise for Frosthaven it won't be like that.
Great tutorial. Can you do one for each jaws of the lion heroes ? Pls
Absolutely!!! Working on them right now. Hoping to have them out soon!!!
