"If you're watching this video you at least have some idea of what Gloomhaven is". Or... I have no idea at all but I know if it's worthy of Dana Howl it's worth knowing about it.
I love Gloomhaven! Its such a great game, and unlocking all the extra stuff as you play is so much fun. The minis look pretty good quality too, I would for sure look into getting the full set of minis for the game instead of the cardboard cutouts.
Sadly the price point makes the Gloomhaven backing mostly unfeasible in Australia. I was interested in it, but at around $1,300 after shipping and tax it's honestly too much. (Shipping alone is $300+) Still contemplating the minis only option, as despite wanting to try the game, the miniatures costing only half the price makes it much more viable.
Good stuff! And yeah, for playing, start with Jaws of the Lion. It's got a good tutorial segment that eases you into the mechanics nicely and is a meaty game in itself. Looking forward to seeing you paint more of the minis!
I loved Gloomhaven. I think it plays a lot better on tabletop simulator than physically-there is just too much crap to organize and keep track of. Some of the old minis were pretty good, but a few them were awful (looking at you Eclipse/Moon). I'm glad they are getting enhanced.
Do you have a podcast? Im just getting into miniature painting and I have some issues with lack of motivation or fear it wont be the way I want it. I do spend a long time on 1 model.
"If I'm not spending at least five times more time painting miniatures than I am playing the game, then it's going to be a problem". Word! I relate to that SO hard.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Gloomhaven Dana! They are awesome games. We started with Jaws of the Lion and then moved to Gloomhaven proper. Frosthaven was also aquired and awaits our attention in the future. I have some 3D printed minis for the game already, but I backed the entire range of minis as they looked ok to me.
@@nozhki-busha I wouldnt even know how to begin to sort them and have them on hand for a game. Let alone painting them! Different strokes for different folks I suppose. Hope you enjoy them! I would dread to have so many and all at once haha
I loved playing gloomhaven, but with the setup already taking forever and clutter being a problem I can't imagine enjoying it with a full set of minis. Bosses? Sure. Elites? Maybe. Every mook? Please just let me see how many movement hexes I need 😬
“If I’m not spending five times as much time painting miniatures as I spend playing the game, there’s going to be a problem.” 10/10
This is the way
I hope we get to see some more of the painted minis at some point, the colour combos you used were intriguing!
Re the mold lines, sometimes the newer presses have less mold lines than later ones where the molds start to warp slightly. Love the paintjobs!

Have you tried Journeys in Middle Earth at all? Since you love IA and Descent that should be right up your alley! Plenty of minis to paint!
I really like how you say squaaaaaaare spaaaaaaace.
My son and i still have to paint Hero Quest.. Hey good luck on the move. Lil chunks at a time and hydrate!
I have been using your Howling Sand on some minis recently! And the pastels are all great as well!
This is really sweet. I know of this series, and some of the boxes are at Target here in the States. The minis look amazing
Good luck with the move. I HATE moving. Stressful. Take your time and looking forward to seeing you in your new space!
Jaws of the Lion is hype! I've been slowly poking through it for over a year and still trying to not peep the spoiler boxes
I would absolutely love more Gloomhaven videos from you!
Likewise!!
I bought the all in big pledge. I haven't played any gloomhaven. Looking forward to all the minis and the role-playing game aspect.
There's a figure for the Nameless One?! Pretty cool! 👀
Hell yeah Planescape Torment! I had no idea there was a Nameless One mini. I guess I gotta track him down and paint him now! Great vid as always!
beautiful work!

Fun video! TY Dana
Where on earth may I pick myself up one of these boxes of figures? Anyone got a link? Can’t find them anywhere
These are sweet!

Loved playing (and finishing) the digital version. Can't imagine how much time it must take just to set up the board.
@@rickardelimaait doesn't take much time if you're well-organized.

Great stuff friend 👏 👍
FYI, the Frosthaven minis have more details like those monster minis.

Those look like fun minis to paint. Is that Sully from Monster's Inc. @8:35?

I love planescape, it is so 90s
I really want to play Gloomhaven, but the price and the fact that it is a legacy type game really put me off.
Don’t worry, you can always spend more time painting minis if you ignore the game elements
Noice
I'm beginning to think you like saying squarespace way too much 😂
do you really want that many miniatures? I ask Dana snd everyone else whos getting that
Yes! We backed the entire bundle offer as we own all three games.
