Cant wait for you to get to Orion, my personal favourite from Master of Puppets, I'd like to give you some context before you hear it as it is the next track. Orion is the albums instrumental track, and was the overall masterpiece of the original bassist Cliff Burton. Cliff was a master bassist and master composer, he brought music theory to the band, as well as the concept of harmonies. Cliff was responsible for some sections of Master of Puppets, including the acoustic guitar intro on Battery for example, but Orion was Cliffs magnum opus. Orion features a heavy distorted bass intro, multiple bass solos throughout and an incredible melodic section. Cliff was a genius, but he sadly passed away while on tour for this album, back in 1986.

For the record dave mustaine claims that parts of the second half of leper messiah was a song he was working on in metallica called THE HILLS RAN RED . honestly it sounds like 2 different songs to me . Metallica denied this then Kirk Hammett admitted in an interview Dave's music is in there but plays it down as only a " chord progression "

You seem like you're in to some of the simpler thrashier stuff, but also mesmerised by the more technical side, I have a few suggestions for you! Firstly, I think you should check out the song "And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope" by Ne Obliviscaris (nay o-bliv-is-car-is). All I can reel you in with is that these guys have some fucking FAST double bass blasts and some interesting sounds you might be surprised by. The drummer is Dan Presland, he has a youtube channel where he uploads drum-cam videos. Dan Presland's legs are like pistons. Secondly, I think you need to be aware of Blake Richardson, from the band "Between the Buried and Me". Check out "Blake Richardson recording Obfuscation". You won'g regret it. Loving the channel. It's nice to see a new drummer getting in to it so quickly. Seeing your unholy confessions cover, I think you're progressing pretty quickly for a new drummer.
