    Even if it’s not popular I appreciate the long term reviews

      Thanks so much Ben. I didn't expect this one to go viral. But people in the market need to be able to find good reviews. I almost feel like it's part of my mission. And I do a handful a year, so I'm ok if the immediate response isn't overwhelming. It'll get views from search over time for sure.

    My customer shields arrive soon. Got the black and white color with the Bluetooth functionality. We shall see how they work out.

    Ive been using peltor shooter muffs right from the start. 95 euros and still going strong after 7 years. The biggest plus is that I can double up on ear pro when shooting prs matches.

      I was wearing mine yesterday when squirrel hunting. Pretty comfy all things considered.

    I am thinking about getting the waterfowl alpha shields. Do you notice any audio quality differences between your two pairs?

    • @TheNewHuntersGuide
      @TheNewHuntersGuide  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, the quality is identical. Only benefit of the custom is the volume knob. But it wasn't a feature I knew about or even wanted until I had it. The Alpha's should serve you well.

    Any idea on what would happen if you tried using the waterfowl pursuit model for deer hunting or turkey hunting? Thanks for the long term review!

    • @TheNewHuntersGuide

      It would work great, except you wouldn't hear footsteps in the woods and deer calls as clearly. I usually use Waterfowl mode when recording all my videos. But I'm not listening for deer sneaking up on me.

      @@TheNewHuntersGuide so the sound enhancement would only be useful for waterfowl and the only use for deer/turkey would be ear protection?

      @ also do you know if they typically do any Black Friday deals?

      @@joesevy6756 Generally speaking they work like hearing aids and can boost your audio of everything. But waterfowl boosts the sounds that waterfowl make, while Deer boosts the sounds that deer make, etc. So each will work for anything, but the specialized ones are best for their application. If I was going to buy just one and use it for everything, I would buy the waterfowl, I think it has the overall sound for all things.

      @@joesevy6756 They did last year. I think once I saw them go up to 15% off. It's not a bad plan to wait it out some.

    Do you use the 60 or the 90 level protection?

    • @TheNewHuntersGuide
      @TheNewHuntersGuide  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      90 on the Custom Shield, I remember paying for it. I think it was the 90 on the Alpha, but I'm not entirely sure. It was a while ago.

      George, I have had the alpha shields for 3 seasons and no real complaints so far. However, I’ve noticed the one sound that I rely on but guts muffled out is when I’m goose calling. It sounds like Charlie browns teacher. Duck calls no problem, but the goose call I have trouble hearing myself. Any similar experience? I’m wondering if the higher priced custom ones would have a more clear sound when calling?
      Thanks

      @@chadamos7297 I haven't had that issue, but I do not goose hunt/call very much, so I may not have come across it enough to notice it. I would call up Tetra and ask them. Most of my calling is ducks and turkeys. And they've been perfect there.
