The difference between Kiryu and Majima is that Kiryu at least got older as time went on and it was somewhat visible. He’s got a few wrinkles here and there in 6. However Majima looks YOUNGER in 6 and 7 than he did in the other games besides Zero.

Y'know, my favorite part about Majima... isn't even Majima himself. It's his family. The fact they for some reason completely stick with the dude despite him getting kicked out or leaving the clan repeatedly. And the fact they do all of these completely insane things with him for absolutely no reason. The fact that Majima for some random reason has his own personal army that just does things like: Lining the streets, being his backup dancers, etc. Like whenever one of the other heads of family get kicked out or die or whatever, their family usually fairly quickly ends up fusing with another family and they tend to not really follow their leader out of the organization. But The Majima Family? They're loyal to a fault.
The fact that Makoto's kid is literally old enough to be his own yakuza member by the time of Yakuza 7 is just sad. In another lifetime we can have Kiryu & Yumi's child or Majima & Makoto's child as the new protagonists.
Kiryu ages slowly, but it's there. Majima just ages normally up to a certain point then he said "screw this i wanna be younger" so he ages in reverse
