The 55 has a small hole on the side to bleed off fuel. You can push the little keeper farther down and limit the distance the ball has to travel before squirting. making it respond quicker.
I must sayThank you!! this videos help me so much to figure out why my carbs didnt work properly, and it was cause that little metal square , simplemente no estaba ahí cuando lo desarme y muchos años despues lo descubrí... es decir hace un par de dias, ahora trabaja correctamente... big thumps up
Remember that Weber developed these carbs for European V6 & V8 luxury supercars like Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and French models like Renault & Peugeot. So, give them a break, will you 😉
agree and disagree if on a v8 the clogged idle circuit would be less major % of a problem but still a problem so I'm sure if they the original designers were still making them they would have probally made changes as they resurched issues and found the problems or not who knows but i thank you for continuing and improving their designs
Thanks for the update. Great info as always.👍

Wow.. I m happy this video helped you. Saludos
Wow thanks for sharing all this information... U are the Man...
Great results for a great mod. I would love to see how Blue would run with a single 44 IDF, it would make a ton more power and still be drivable.
I'm really looking forward to installing the 44idf on blue too
I would like to see a video on it also , because I have a rail with a single 44 IDF center mount carb and having issues with it.
Empi's do have the idle circuit problem, even with snorkels (in my case).
What carb and intake is your son running on the blue VW.
So you can use zero cbs on dual carbs?
Yes👍
Your takeoffs will be smoother
@@Motor7710 thanks

I think you hit the nail in the head! These IDFs where probably not intended to run 4cyl.
