One thing that improved everything I've ever listened to is using a low frequency cutoff of 40 Hz. This is for the vast majority of music, some music can do a 35 Hz, but generally when you go lower all you're doing is allowing the soundless low frequency noise to drain your amp's capacitors with pointless excursions. I think a lot of CD's etc. they optimize the files and the process adds a lot of noise. The results are clearly noticeable, I wish everyone would try this and then we need a video on the topic and lots of comments.
Finally the type of review that you made when you start your chanel and make me happy. What do you think about Akai AM95. I just got one now after years of serching. It was on my whis list after I see your review from 6 years ago about AM93. I’m sure that you see a lot of amps but from my perspective AM95 it’s not easy to beat, but your opinion about it relly count for me. Best regards my friend
I loved my am-93 very much. AM-93 and 95 are the same, they only have a different dac. The only reason why i sold i t was because some selector switches didn't work good anymore . Contact spray didn't helped anymore and from what I understand is that they all have this problem so at a certain moment you need to renew the inside of those potentiometers so it make good contact again. I prefer the sound of the akai am-93/95 over this pioneer 8800
@@vintagestereo This one that i bought have the same problem with the switch for source or D/A. But it s the first amplifier that on direct without tone controls sound fantastic and I don’t miss them. My speakers are JmLab Focal Onyx 713 K2. I don’t know how many use old Akai but from my side this amp place it’s on top. Today amplifiers to sound like this one I think should have starting price of 3000-3500K euro maybe more. Keep up the good work and for me your chanel it’s very very good
Andrew is that your hacos playing on that amp if so Man thoes speakers sound so good it sounds like that sax player is right there in the room very very clear and sharp..
Maybe reduce the voltage on the display so it last longer. Olso If the amplifier is rated for 220Volt and you use it with 230/240 all the components will run on a slightly higher voltage. Or does it have a voltage selector ? In the Netherlands it is 230 volt with +6%/-10% range but I think 240Volt is common. Especially with all those solar panels on a sunny day. I know car manufacturers olso use brands like : B&O, Harman Kardon, B&W, Mark levinson and Volvo used Dynaudio, I wanted to hear that.
