When we admit that police officers are just like everyone else good and bad, and until we start stripping that "complete immunity" away from them, in addition to not allowing them to investigate themselves for crimes, there will be stories like this and a dozen we never hear about in the future. The few good cops welcome people going after the bad ones, but they eventually fire/destroy those good cops too. It's an environment of don't snitch on cops.

What happened to the days when Texas Constables just served warrants, justice court duties, and civil processes. Does not the County Sheriff and Houston police have these responsibilities? When did the state give general police powers of investigation to Constables? Can somebody explain?

If the allegations are true then those officers need to be locked up, and the DA should at least resign for allowing this to go on.
