I've seen twins landing on just that hard runway. You did an excellent job Wayne. During the winter when the grass section is closed I still use it to fly over low so I treat it as part of the runway but obviously not the area I'm going to land on. With the 172 in a short field config you'll be aiming to put it down at the very start of the runway being on the back of the power curve you can just go over the grass very low then cut the power as you get to the asphalt. Good job though, especially as you didn't blow up over the Montgomery and didn't get abducted by aliens. 🙂
