Just met George in person yesterday...we were staying at same hotel before concert at Bethel Woods Center of the Arts in Bethel, PA. He was performing with John Fogerty . Great guy to talk to ! 10:19
I'm going to see them tonight in Oklahoma. I'm 65 and can hardly wait. They have been a favorite of mine since the first time I heard them way back when in the early 80's!
I was a teen in the 60's and the music back then was mild compared to this. I love it. I'm 71 now and the likes of George Thorogood and AC/DC put the rock in rock n roll. Bring it on!
If you like ACDC take a listen to the Angels with Doc Neeson. Probably the hardest hitting Aussie pub rock band I ever saw. Neeson was nuts. Watch the end of the "under the southern cross" concert on TH-cam to see what I mean.......
Damn right. And yes the sax player Hank Carter kicks maximum loads of ass. Always loved George Thorogood and the Destroyers! Seen them twice. Wonderful show!
Living proof you don’t have to be the worlds best guitar player. Just have to get you moving and bring you in the moment and Lonesome George does that to people.
George Torogood is one of the best guitarists of the 20th century. Did these people back in 1995 realize what they had witnessed? To play rock and roll in such a furious rhythm with alternating fingers .. not everyone can do that. Only the elect of God ... A tribute to your talent, George !!!
Im so glad that i grew up at that time. There was no better time for 3 chord rock n roll. Thank you George and the double dds .your the best. A friend still has a batman hat from a Pittsburgh show.
Awe jeez Margie I'm getting old; this reminded me of seeing George at Massey Hall in Toronto with 8 or 10 of my friends when I was in my early 20's and just dancing my ass off the whole time right in front of the stage with 50 total strangers having a blast. Now some 35 years later I'm sitting in my lazy boy tapping my toes to this and my foot cramps up 🤣🤣🤣
Damnnnnnn!!!!!! Now that's Rock and Roll. I've seen George play a number of times and he always looks like he's having fun and giving all he could! One of the best live shows.
Ladies and Gentleman , Mr. George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers. Rockpalast, Loreley, St. Goarshausen, Germany, July 8, 1995 George Thorogood - lead vocals and lead guitar Jeff Simon - drums, percussion (1973-present) Billy Blough - bass guitar (1976-present) Jim Suhler - rhythm guitar (1999-present) Hank "Hurricane" Carter - saxophone (1980-2003) This was so awesome , and hard to top. Simply the best...
Christ Jesus I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to hear this cover. Been listening to Lonesome George and the boys forever, and they’ve blown my socks off again.
I was born in 1957 and back in that day this music was still it was in its infancy infancy age but this this stuff was back and way back in the '60s the fifties Detroit is the home of rock and roll
Good hard driving, loud, fast, R&R The Sacred music doesnt get any better than this, starts at 60 miles per hour and winds up doing 80 Keepin the music alive!!
Saw George play Tulsa @ Cain’s Ballroom. Somebody from audience chucked a glass beer bottle at Gary Busey’s face (cutting him), after he joined George onstage to sing. What a wild ride show that was! 😅
ahhhhh, the good old white shoes, all of us that were truly cool back in the day had white shoes on stage. it was an inside thing but the truly cool rocked the white shoes....
I saw Thorogood open for the Stones at the Superdome in 1981. I had never really heard much of him then and he set the place on FIRE. Perfect opening for the Stones.
I saw George Thorogood & Destroyers in small club in Finland 1995.They were the main act in big blues festival but one night befofe played in tiny restaurant just for couple of hundred people.that was the best show i've ever seen hands down.
Saw George Thorogood & The Destroyers live in The Dunedin Town Hall here in New Zealand on Sunday December 8th 1985 - believe I was 22 back then and bullet-proof. And what a gig! Blew the roof offa the Town Hall dat night. I'll sat one thing about GT & TD - if you are having a bad day then then listen to some GT & TD. And if your bad day blues do not disappear then I'm afraid there's no hope.
I saw George in the 80s in Toledo OH. Johnny Winter was to open but cancelled. George came out and let it rip for about 3 hours. Was a fan before, but totally new respect after!
F'n legend. They dont make em like George anymore.
I'm 71 and I am definitely here with you

I'm 15 years old right now and I love George thorogood
Absolutely fantastic. I neverknew he could play like that. Now I do!
I was a teen in the 60's and the music back then was mild compared to this. I love it. I'm 71 now and the likes of George Thorogood and AC/DC put the rock in rock n roll. Bring it on!
This man and his band should be in HOF. Don't understand why not .
Brilliant.... same vintage... know what you're saying ye 😂
Yee ha...

George and Co. guaranteed a good time!!!
The sax, drums and guitars! A masterpiece of rock and roll. Best cover of this song out there.
Good. But listen to hendrix live at Berkley 1970. Unbelievable.
@@andyhalstead3949i have played Jimi Hendrix
This song will be played forever.
I've never heard it done like this!!! He knocks it out of the park! Rock N Roll never dies!
Living proof you don’t have to be the worlds best guitar player. Just have to get you moving and bring you in the moment and Lonesome George does that to people.
I can never be tried of Chuck Berry lives on through many good artists.

Los Rockeros somos los malditos por tú dios y vamos al infierno.
Excellent. Cover. Version 😂😊😊😊😊😊
You need to learn to spell!
Agree
Still got the ticket and t shirt
To my knowledge, the best version, by far, of Johnny B Good. Thorogood and the other members of the Destroyers were real performers.
I guess you're not ready for this...but your kids are gonna love it.
That sax player is worth every cent he gets paid !
This is one of the best George Thorogood shows I've seen in a long time thanks guys for a great Rock and Roll Show
George Thorogood is the soul of Rock and Roll!
That instrumental music back in that days was unbelievable
George calls this song the Rock'n'Roll national anthem and wow, his version is a classic.
I would agree. Thanks Chuck.
That sax player deserves a raise ! Great show. Would have loved to been there. Keep rockin George !
Hank "Hurricane" Carter, RIP brother.
I have seen George Thorogood a number of times and his shows are outstanding
Im so glad that i grew up at that time. There was no better time for 3 chord rock n roll. Thank you George and the double dds .your the best. A friend still has a batman hat from a Pittsburgh show.
Has this guy ever given a bad performance? A consummate rock n' roll showman if ever there was one.
76 here and play it to turnoff the bullshit at the end of the day , better than any therapy 🙏🙏
75. Been a fan for 40 years.
No analysis. Just good times.
Kudos to the drummer keeping those steady 16th notes for 8 mins at that BPM.
Absolute machine!
The great Jeff Simon
LOVE IT STILL 70
Saxophone dude is incredible!
Best cover ever!!!

I've seen George several times, and he always rocks it. Never holds back. But this is one of the best I've ever seen George play. He kills it.
Agreed
George & his band are the best proof, that rock and roll is the best thing that EVER happended to mankind!!
Rock 'n Roll at its finest!!

George rocked my world from the first time i ever heard of this guy called the Delaware Flash in the 70's when I was a teenage girl ❤️❤️❤️
There aint no better bar band than G.T. and the double "D"s.and thats combing from a an old navy vet. Bless you George.
Never a better rock n roll song. Ever. No matter who did it. Rock n roll was based off this song.
Christ Jesus I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to hear this cover. Been listening to Lonesome George and the boys forever, and they’ve blown my socks off again.
Saw George play with Z Z Top in Madison Square Garden in 96 and he BLEW them off the stage. Soooo underated.
George kicks ass and plays rock'n'roll exactly how its supposed to be played. This is a killer version of this song!
You are darn right
FN WOW!
George, we love u and The Destroyers.
Most underrated Drummer ever! He bad ass!
Yes Danny!! It's the one and only Jeff Simon, the original Destroyers-Drummer, ever since with George through the decades!!
Time & Time again I keep coming back to this, best version of this track I have ever heard.
I have to listen to this at least once a week!
I was born in 1957 and back in that day this music was still it was in its infancy infancy age but this this stuff was back and way back in the '60s the fifties Detroit is the home of rock and roll

At No Fish Today in Balto in the late '70's. He was incredible.
nothing flashy , musicians and talent .....and a massive Heart ...Pure Rock n roll
Saw George play Tulsa @ Cain’s Ballroom. Somebody from audience chucked a glass beer bottle at Gary Busey’s face (cutting him), after he joined George onstage to sing. What a wild ride show that was! 😅
Excellent rendition. Go George, go!
Never short changed with George
That sax man steals the show and that's really hard to do with old George in the house.
ahhhhh, the good old white shoes, all of us that were truly cool back in the day had white shoes on stage. it was an inside thing but the truly cool rocked the white shoes....
Holy shit. Some of the best rock of all time.
What a dang good showman
One of the best performers I’ve ever seen, to be sure.
I saw Thorogood open for the Stones at the Superdome in 1981. I had never really heard much of him then and he set the place on FIRE. Perfect opening for the Stones.

Yep !! In '81 he opened for the Stones in front of 105,000 people at the old JFK stadium. Journey was there as well.
