In this video I wanted to talk about why The GoPro is close to perfection and yet fails every year. GoPro hero 12 will probably knock my socks off, but it will not make me sell all my cameras.

This is similar to how I feel about camcorders, specifically the Sony AX53, a consumer camcorder that is super versatile and close to perfection, but due to being a *consumer* camcorder it lacks professional settings like log colour profiles, full manual control, and has a fairly small sensor and dynamic range, so cannot quite compete with mirrorless cameras but still outclasses them (and its more pro oriented camcorder competitors) in optical image stabilisation and zoom (25-500mm). But since most people favour mirrorless over camcorders, I do not see a new and improved alternative releasing any time soon

Yeah you are probably right.
