Totally possible. In fact you definitely can. Stick to the basics that I use. Buy the right paints and some brushes. Your boxes of plastic will soon turn into something you can be proud of. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment

@DecrepitGaming I do indeed, used pallid bone on my bow and spear regiments earlier, will be priming my dragon tomorrow 😀
I’ve got to pull out my old TK army book and look at the painting section. I’m feeling like going with a lighter color for the bone. Just to get the gold/bronze to show up better.
Yes a lighter colour for the bone would do that. Back in the day I would have started dark and painted up to almost bright white for bone. However that would take quite a long time compared to the speed/contrast paints so I chose to get the army finished and then worry about any touch ups or things I’m not entirely happy with. You do you as long as your happy nothing else matters.

Great army, looks great. A bit of a challenge power wise but I look forward to working out what works and what doesn't. I will have more painting videos in the pipeline for the Tomb King's just deciding on what to paint next.
Had my first outting in the old world on Saturday, lost to my friends Bretonnias. Same as you, my Dragon got killed and he was only half painted 😄
I'm hoping to get it finished this Friday as I got a day off 😀

Will have one up this week, probably low hanging fruit though. I have some horse archers to paint and I will probably turn that into a video. I also have to tackle the characters for the bone dragon. Then on to other fancier stuff. Definitely Horse Archers this week. Oh and Bretonnians are dicks! :)

As a person who seems to be a more casual, veteran WHF player... I’d be interested to hear your take on the various controversies (linehammer, dragon hammer, etc) in the Old World community.
Those things are only a problem if the people you play with are that way inclined. Choose your opponents/friends wisely. If you are going to enter tournaments then you may just accept whatever game breaking shenanigans your opponent pulls on you. WFB or The Old World is not a tournament game in my opinion. I think the armies vary wildly and I have no idea how they could be balanced. People will of course disagree with me and that is fine, each to their own. On a last note tournament play brings out the worst in people as there is a win at any cost mentality from those who are already borderline dicks.
On another note I don't think GW playtested the rules anywhere near enough. Linehammer is a shinning example of that. As for powerful characters, I'm all for those, but they should not be able to win a game by themselves, just my 2 cents
