    been going there for years never seen anyone else back there after getting off the main trail. I know this sounds selfish but to bad it ended up on youtube, I hope it doesn't get trashed like Bonita falls all trash and spray paint, By the way your last approach in the canyon to the falls you went the hard way. stick to the left of the stream and scramble up the small rock face its a lot easier. some things should be kept secret. If you go up there please respect it pack out your trash and leave the spray paint in LA.

    Definitely one of the best falls in So Cal! Thanks for the great video, it motivated me to make the drive from SD to Lytle Creek for the hike to the falls! I have seen this trail on my past hikes from Baldy and always wondered what was down Middle Fork Trail from Icehouse Saddle junction. I made it within 1 1/2 miles of Ice House Saddle at 6000 feet, snow all over. The last 2k feet of elevation gain to Icehouse Saddle junction looks a bit brutal, got to check it out when the snow melts.

    It's interesting to me how much the pool at the base of the waterfall has filled up with sediment in the 40 years since I've been up there. I used to love doing cannon balls off of that big bolder. The pool used to be about 6foot deep there and deeper at the base of the falls. BTW that spring coming out of the ground was pretty much the same 40 years ago.

      Wow that’s amazing! The base of the waterfall was only about two feet deep. And that is also amazing about that spring!

    Was just up at the Icehouse Saddle to Timber Mountain last Friday but hadn't heard of this particular hike you did. Looks fun! Thanks for sharing.

    Thank you for sharing this amazing place. Had to check it out for myself a few days ago and I was definitely awestruck. Couldn't find the "out of place tree" though. I'm sure it was right in my face at some point lol.

    Ive always wanted to go to that waterfall, ive hiked that trail in blistering hot days, rainy days snowing days, and at night, i got rained out once bc my tent flooded @ 3am, i loved the video but i hope it doesnt turn that place into a dumpster like so many of my favorite spots in angeles NF by all the LA people that watch this, i know all of the secret spots in these mts, except this one 😅. Btw whats the name of the last song when youre jogging to the end?

      Wow, sounds like you’ve truly experienced every side of this trail! Props for braving all the elements - those are the kind of memories that stick. I definitely get the concern about keeping these spots pristine; it’s so important to respect and protect our trails. Glad you enjoyed the video! The song at the end is 'Counter Culture V.1' by Common Creation - love the vibe on that one. Thanks for watching and sharing your experiences!

    Just curious where you parked ... how can i get to that area?

    • @TheHikingChef
      @TheHikingChef  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I parked at the end of Middle Fork Road (Forest Service Road 2N58), which is a rough, unpaved path requiring a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle. From there, I accessed the Middle Fork Trail leading to the waterfall. For detailed directions and trail information, this guide is helpful: Middle Fork Trail (Lytle Creek) - HikingGuy.com. Remember to check current road and trail conditions before heading out, as they can change due to weather or maintenance. Enjoy your adventure!

    Do you have coordinates to the water fall?

    • @TheHikingChef
      @TheHikingChef  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do not have the coordinates but try “third stream crossing via middle fork” on all trails
