    When I first started watching this video I didn’t know what to expect. I thought to myself where is the commentary. And I continued watching on waiting for you to explain what had been seen in the scenes prior. . . And I slowly grew irritated when The commentary never came. But I had already became immersed in what hiking the PCT is about. The PCT. and all the small little moments in between. I reminisced on my 2019 PCT Thru-hike and I began to appreciate the lack of commentary. Everyone’s internal journey is their intimate journey, but the uninterrupted and unbiased/ unemotional external journey that you have shown in this video is amazing. And makes me want to have another PCT adventure. Thank you.

      Thank you for that thoughtful comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really wanted it to be about the trail, and give something for others to reminisce with, so I didn't want my feelings to get mixed into that. The PCT was an amazing trail, I'm right there with you, wish I could start the trail again tomorrow. Always looking forward to the next long trail, maybe I'll see you out there! Cheers.

    So lovely. This is a great video. Thank You!!!!! I enjoyed every step.
    Not like some of these day to day "vlogs" on the trail of whiners and complainers and people who can't stand the rain or the wind and have to tell us everyday over and over and over again how many miles they have to do and what a drag it is to do it. "...we have 8 more miles to water and we are carrying so much water and it's really hard with heavy packs and then 2 more miles to town, and I can[t wait to get there, where I hope we can find a shower and blah blah blah...."
    Why are they out there is they hate it so much... to prove what?

    • @SeanEarthMedia
      @SeanEarthMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha I think I can agree with that sentiment. The difficulty is what makes it a journey worth undertaking, you have to learn how to embrace the suck out there. Glad I could share the beauty of the trail with you.

    2600miles의 여행을 1시간만에 보다니...1시간 동안 힘들었다, 나의 다리가 아프고 몸은 지치지만 가슴벅찬 눈물까지 나면서

    I'm sure the journey was exasperating, tiring, frustrating, difficult, etc. but the positive energy from this film was really infectious. Maddie's smile along the way was telling. Was impressed with the walking pace. I've done several sections of the Washington and Oregon PCT but definitely at a more leisurely pace. Wonderful.

    I watched this last night and wanted to follow up on the comments started by Skagit Ed earlier. There are SO many PCT videos with narration. This video stands out because it's easy to watch and I feel like I was part of the journey. Much of a hike like this is the silence of just walking and I didn't feel that I missed any part of the story for lack of words. Fantastic perspective in most of your shots, superb editing and I appreciate the TON of work it takes to shoot that many walk throughs. Thank you for sharing this with the world.

      We started May 5 and finished Sept 15! We entered the Sierras on June 15th. It was definitely a low snow year, which we were grateful for, never had to use microspikes or carry our ice-axes. In retrospect, we wish we had a little more snow to test our grit ;)

    • @SeanEarthMedia
      @SeanEarthMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jeffisthabomb I'm jealous! You're in for an amazing summer. Our pace varied but on average, we were hitting 20-25 miles a day by the end of the desert, low 20's in the Sierras, ramped up to 30 a day in Norcal and Oregon, then 25-30 through Washington. We probably took 5-10 zeros but often tried to Near-0 into towns as well. Our biggest day was 52 Miles in Oregon through the Three Sisters Wilderness to the Bend highway crossing, that was a 1am - 10pm affair, our take on the 24 hour challenge that many hikers try in Oregon.

    Totally stunning---and looked like a really amazing and super positive PCT experience. I also liked that you showed a good amount of footage in Washington, which not a lot of videographers actually do. Did you have very little snow in the Sierra? Did you not have any rain in the North Cascades? I noticed that your knee braces would appear and disappear--did you need them in some sections and not in others? (a little worried about my right knee). Great filming and thank you so much for sharing your experience.

    • @SeanEarthMedia
      @SeanEarthMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was an amazing experience to say the least! Thank you for your kind words. For the most part, we had great weather, very little snow in the Sierra and only a couple of rainy days in Washington. I also wasn't as keen on pulling out my camera in the rain, or when we were going through it.
      Maddie had the braces on intermittently throughout the whole trail. It was probably a bit cyclical, and a bit circumstantial based on the terrain. Good to have if you think you may need them, even just a little support goes a long way. I think she would say that her knees got stronger along the hike, but then at a certain points, suffered from overuse. Something you'll have to assess day to day.
      Funny enough, her knee was bothering her so much after ski season, prior to this hike, she felt like she couldn't do 5 miles, let alone 2650. Somehow, the trail provided her the right space, and it made it the distance. Take it at your pace, listen to your body, and you will do great.
