The greatest living angler in my opinion. Simple rigs always, catches fish from all types of venues, (not just over stocked muddy puddles that the rest of the Nash "Experts" fish), not a hint of product marketing bullshit , no ego. Just supreme watercraft and amazing resilience and determination. Bless you Steve for keeping the true essence of angling alive.
Hi Steve and the Nash team;) The world is small because you fished 500 meters from my home. From the first pictures of your movie, I recognized the place. I pass regularly in front of your friend and there is a high probability that I have been there during your session. It is a reach that is not very known "still" and where the fishing is complicated and whimsical sometimes with often off-season fishing conditions often hard. The river is wider which allows the wind to infiltrate the river and gives sometimes "good feeling" in boats, especially in zodiac with marine topographies quite important is varied. This complicates again the fishing. For several years now, I have been hooked on this sector on very fast fishing of only a few hours and only during the day. I did a little editing if you want to see it, it dates back several years now. I am now working on it from a cabin boat, which gives me even more possibilities. Good luck and I think that this small stay will have given you the taste of the love of this river. I'm sorry my english is really bad, so i used Google translation Salut Steve ainsi que la team Nash ;) Le monde est petit, car vous avez pêché à 500 mètres de chez moi. Nice fishing Steve a stonking common and mint, shame on the rain i recon you would have bagged quite a few, I remember reading that the great Rod Hutchingson saying that, didn't the family fish it before a session on Lake Cassien in the 80's where was that wrote m8 cheers
Yes John Rod did indeed fish the Lot all those years ago although it was a long way from where I was, I was surprised how big the Lot actually is - or at least how long but it was a great trip on a great river for sure!!!!
Gratz on the fish in horrific conditions, another cracking video. Happy new year to you and Joan you guys are pretty cute lol. Tight lines have a cracking 2018
A bientôt...
I was about to say with the water and flow so mad, couldn't you fish middle or margins?..the fish must move around.great video again steve..all the best in 2018 pal
Why not just fish in your margin. You always see these people trying to hold bottom on the far side of a huge river. Why not just fish close in. The carp don't care, its not like they've had much pressure. Saw pecky on a huge ship canal having to pack up cos the wake from ships were moving his far bank rigs. I was like duh, fish your side. You lose a lot less fish too. I suppose boys need their toys like boats n that.
It's something that often gets said but I wasn't fishing the far side just for the fun of it - in fact it's more difficult for the reasons you stated. I saw Darrel Peck's video too but the situation was different here, for a start most of the features ie, ledges, plateaus, overhangs etc are on the far side and that area gets fished throughout the year and probably 80% of the fish do come from the far side. I did fish my side throughout the trip and when the flow increased it was the only side I could fish but the result was zero action. You can also cover more of the area by fishing across to the far side compared to fishing close in because of the tree overhang.
Absolutely amazing video Steve. The only thing I’d say is, in my opinion, the fish are out of the water, and or not showered with water for far far too long, and that’s difficult to watch. Fab video as always though, same as always, and well done on those magnificent athletic looking Cyprius Cyprius 👍👍
