Being a lifetime member and going through my own current “walking on water” trials . Your story here of the Cardinals deeply touched my heart. I was rooting for you to see one and when you did, and you dropped to your knees, I dropped to my knees too… so to speak. Thank you for sharing that one. Personally I really needed it. I don’t doubt the church, but my current trials sure are heavy right now… Wouldn’t change it for the world! I love how we bless each other in this church!

A stepping stone of Faith. Heavenly father is always looking for excuses to bless us, anytime we even reach out a little he "Reaches for [our] reaching".
Speaking of: next time you drop by Utah, I've got a Provo temple rock for you. 52 years, tens of thousands of missionaries' prayers answered, and (probably) the appearance of the Lord.

You know, I will further support you about the cardinal miracles you've experienced! The Book of Mormon teaches that all things upon the Earth witness of God. Alma 30:44
God uses his creations upon the Earth for his purposes and to do his will. I'd say your experience with the cardinals is comparable to what the Bible teaches. God used the birds as a sign of significant things happening, a way of leading to safety, and a way to talk to you in a way that you can relate to and that has great meaning to you. Thank you for sharing your beautiful testimony! Nature and its beauty, diversity, complexity, and life is a testimony of God! ❤

Like you David, I also have come from a Protestant background at age 25 I ran into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, joined, went on a mission, and have fed my faith almost every day by prayers, reading, attending church, and experiencing the Holy Spirit and revelations in so very many wonderful ways, I truly cherish my relationship with Jesus Christ. Now at 73 and the opportunities that I occasionally take to reflect on my membership in His True Church, I am overwhelmed with gratitude beyond my ability to express, the deep joy and love that has companioned me on this journey. I love it❤️🙏

When you talk about your Cardinal experiences I'm always reminded of what it says in 2 Nephi chapter 31 verse 3:
"... For the Lord God giveth light unto the understanding; for he speaketh unto men according to their language, unto their understanding."
God understands the intricacies of your mind better than anyone else. He knows how to make things happen that will direct your mind where it needs to go, regardless of how silly they might seem at times. Who can deny that God works in mysterious ways ❤
Thanks for sharing your conversion process with all of us 🙏

I also am a new convert and was baptized the next weekend after you did yours. I also come from a protestant background, and what has helped me when the doubts come in is the love that I feel for the church and the Book of Mormon, that in itself is big. I had head knowledge before but not the love for all humans that I have now. I too have so much to learn and am taking it one day at a time. Thank you David, you gave me the courage to jump...I did alot of research especially the history of the church and spent alot of times with the missionaries asking questions. ❤😊

David, as you were talking about opposition that faces many new converts, I was reminded of a 21-year old woman I knew in Toulouse, France many years ago. Her parents warned her that if she was baptized, she was no longer welcome in their home. That faith-filled sister fasted and prayed, and was baptized, Two years later I saw a photo in the Church News. It showed her as one of the missionaries opening up missionary work in Italy. (Thank you for your example of faith, Maria.)

Hello David!! I love your cardinal stories!! I am a 64 year old life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I don't know if I have shared with you before about my 92 year old father and his hummingbird connection. Three years ago, my Beloved brother David passed away at the age of 59. He was named after my father. My father & my brother David were very close. David's death has been very hard on my father. But in the 3 years that David has been gone, he comes to my dad in the form of a hummingbird. Often times, the hummingbird will hover right in front of my dad's face making eye contact with him. My dad always feels David's presence when a hummingbird comes around, and a few times, he even heard David's voice telling him that everything would be okay. The Lord allows things to happen in a way that will resonate with each of us individually!! Don't ever feel silly about sharing your cardinal stories, because this grandma here LOVES THEM!! 🐦‍🔥🙏❤️

David, I sure do love you. What courage you have to share your personal feelings and know that there will be some people who will deride you. I was a Protestant when at age 14 I KNEW there were too many churches that did not agree and I wanted TRUTH. I was lead to the Church of Jesus Christ and when I heard Joseph's story I SO related to him. He and I were so much alike in how we thought and thought about which of all the churches were true? When I knelt and prayed I felt just as he described his experience when he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost gave me such a manifestion of truth that ALL doubt left me and my heart was changed. My conversation's power has sustained me over the last 50 years because my father turned against me and there have been very few I have been able to share my testimony with in my family. I enjoy reading your accounts and you are not weird seeing Red Cardinals! Heavenly Father is continuing to manifest His truth to you! Stay strong and know you are gaining so many friends along the way!

I live on the West Coast and few years ago I had the opportunity to travel across the country to visit the Hill Cumorah and the Sacred Grove. It was a very spiritual experience. Especially at Hill Cumorah. I was at the base of the Hill staring up at it and contemplating where on the Hill the plates were hidden by Moroni. I received an unmistakable witness from the Holy Ghost that it was sacred ground and the plates were indeed hidden there and later brought forth.

Your correlation or connection with red cardinals may go deeper than you can even understand in mortality, but as for this time, has been such a unique assurance to your conversion. Just know the Lord knows your thoughts and has great things in store for you for years to come. Dear David, my Brother,
It is so heartwarming to hear your words. Please keep sharing.
I'm a senior missionary who is also still learning after all these years of the Lord's tutoring.
I often feel the Lord's compassion when I realize again and again that I'm looking at life through a pin hole at His grand plan! Just when I think I have a real grasp, I'm presented with a new visita of the enormity of His work and how small is my hand as I try to help.
If there is one thing, I've learned it is, "Doubt not, because ye see not." His promises are sure and it is our privilege to see His Hand revealed.
Blessings on you and all of us as we Follow Him!

My first encounter with the LDS church was seeing the Community of Christ edition of the Book of Mormon on Amazon around 2007. I decided to buy it and see what it was about. Next my physics teacher at high school I finally noticed had a BOM on his desk. I took a card from him and contacted the missionaries and the rest is history.

David, I have had two experiences with & while in the Sacred Grove. One is of such a personal revelatory instruction that I feel it is too sacred to disclose.
Here's how I experienced the other:
When I went there, I was with my husband & one of my daughters & her husband. We all decided to walk into the Grove alone & from different starting points. I walked right out of the little prairie home's back door & straight into the Grove.
I began to wonder if I had been Joseph Smith exactly how would I decide where to walk. So for me, I decided to find a spot where I felt comfortable that I would not be seen by any of my family. So, I found a place that I felt like I could kneel comfortably out of sight. I stood there pondering what had happened as Joseph knelt inside that Grove on that spring morning.
I didn't feel anything extraordinary, but I did feel a deep confirming testimony of the events he recorded as true.
What was interesting is that the of the 4 of us who were in the Grove at that time did not run into each other, at all, on that day!

Yay! I love it when you make videos about your testimony and what you’ve learned! From the talk “Come join with us!” By Dieter F Uchtdorf Oct 2013 he says -Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters-my dear friends-please, first doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. We must never allow doubt to hold us prisoner and keep us from the divine love, peace, and gifts that come through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.❤
I am sure it HAS to be difficult if loved ones do not understand. Just remember your example and how bright your spirit is will witness to them. You do not have to prove anything to anyone! Pray to know what to say if you feel cornered. You will be blessed for this massive life changing sacrifice you have made. Heavenly Father KNOWS YOU and loves you and you’re on the right path even if others don’t understand. You also have us to be there for you too as you know.

David, I was born to parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Laterday saints, so my conversion story is different than yours, but we all have to become converted. We aren't born with a testimony. I realize that it may be more difficult and requires more spiritual walking on water as you mentioned, for one who was not born into an LDS family.
My great great grandfather was a convert to the church in London England. We have family records and letters between him and his father. His father could never accept this church that his son had joined but their letters were respectful of one another. I have read other things that my great great great grandfather wrote and I have come to see him as a man with great faith in God, but his background kept him from accepting the truth of the restored church.
I have come to feel a bond with my great great great grandfather and I have a hope that when I pass beyound this life, I will be able to greet him and learn that he was able to accept the truth of the reastoration in the spirit world.

Many "tender mercies" will be subtle enough that we can choose to dismiss them as coincidences, but I find them hard to ignore when they are so repeated. I worry that some "fanatics" will treat every coincidence as a "sign", but I don't get that sense when you relate your stories as I also feel that there is something to this. Believing will always be a choice and there are some tough subjects that won't have good answers, but at the end of all of this, the Church is only expecting us to learn more about Jesus our savoir and try to serve, help, and love others as He would do.
and, "don’t expect the world to cheer you on."

I have that connection with His creation too, it’s strange and difficult to understand but easy to discern 🙏 for me and my family it’s rainbows, my brother passed of leukemia in 1963, he told my parents he would paint rainbows, and it has been a comfort through the years, the day my dad passed, fourteen days after mom, driving out the driveway there was a double rainbow. Glory Hallelujah ❤🙏 I also seem to communicate with some animals, sometimes the Lord wants to play and have fun, I picture Him laughing with joy when He is happy with me, and He does things that give me joy and laughter, I fall to my knees and reach for Him🙏 glory glory hallelujah praise His name

Strangely enough, I just referenced that exact same thing to my husband this morning. It's disheartening. But less so when we remember that we were told exactly how it would go. How it would look and feel. But we aren't alone at all. We all have each other, and anyone we can lift up along the way. They are still to be found.

My Grandma passed the end of July. Just the other day a bird plopped down in front of my kids. It let them pet it. My husband held it. It stayed for about two hours. Come to find out it was a Cape May warbler!! My grandma was buried in Cape May, NJ. Cape may warblers are actually hard to find and not seen west of the Mississippi. We are in Idaho! I know she sent it to say hi. You are not crazy! Great story.

My husband has a book about animal Spirit guides, so I looked up cardinal and it says, “this is a good time to make a fresh exploration of the religion You grew up in, with your eyes and heart open. “
And another resource I found says that cardinal represents friendship, love, devotion, self-confidence, assertiveness, family, and home, protection, and angel messages.
You are obviously receiving many angel messages!

I love ❤️your videos David, and the signs and symbolism the Lord is giving you as you continue on your spiritual journey and walk the covenant path. I know when you are feeling/hearing the words “don’t doubt,” they’re coming from the Holy Ghost. He’s always with you and you are receiving inspiration and direction from him. Thank you for your testimony of Jesus Christ and the demonstrable way you’re keeping your baptismal covenants.

David, you have some great spiritual gifts and you're in good company w saints of old, like the medieval-day-saint, St. Francis of Assisi, who also had a gift from God to have a special connection w our animal friends. As for your finding camaraderie w fellow Protestant converts, you might want to check out a channel by another David who was also a Protestant, though more evangelical than traditional but I believe he was actually a pastor at one point. You may have heard of him from other folks, but anyway his name is David Alexander.

One thing I really admire and envy about the LDS church, in the coming years where the world begins collapsing on the west and Christianity which means persecution coming on strong, the LDS church has hundreds of billions of $$, farm land, govt officials, and a strong community of believers to band together. A lot like the Jews. I am very envious of this.

I want you to know, that the fact that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has purchased all of that farmland gives me great peace and comfort, knowing that it will be used to help feed the hungry, and that includes every faith every race every human that the church can help regardless of what church you attend Know that God loves you that the LDS faith will be embracing members of all faiths and working together to feed the world. It’s a beautiful thing.

@@dianehenry9775 I’ve considered it seriously in the past. I’ve read the Book of Mormon, which I actually found compelling. People who haven’t actually read the book (I.e. Protestants) like to caricature it and mock it but it’s actually a very compelling read. The problem for me is, if Book of Mormon stood on its own as the foundation of the church with the Bible I would have joined. The problem is, all the other stuff associated with the church. And the doctrine in the church isn’t really what the Book of Mormon speaks of. But I do admire the church.

Maybe you can elaborate? I'm not sure what you mean. I am a lifelong member. To me, the Book of Mormon represents the beliefs of the church. I would love to hear more!

    • @orangemanbad
      @orangemanbad 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@julieelliott9797 I just mean things like, the Book of Mormon clearly calls Jesus God. The one true God. Then Joseph and church teach he’s a spirit son of god and brother of Satan, and you and me. That god the father is an exalted man. Who came from a planet with a different god who was also an exalted man. Etc. This is in opposition to the Bible and Christian tradition which teaches there is one God - Jehovah - who was the pre-incarnate Christ who created all things visible and invisible. And emptied himself to come into the world to experience humanity and bring salvation.
Christianity teaches theosis which is very similar to exaltation but also very different. Just one example.

I’m sure the most special spirit of witness was felt in the sacred grove and hill Comurah . I would love to see all those places one day. And kirtland temple is so sacred . I hope you went inside . I love visiting the Sacred Grove. Sometimes we had the privilege of being there alone - as just husband and wife communing in its sacred surroundings or with our children, watching their understanding deepen. To think that I can stand on holy ground without traveling halfway around the world…to be where a young boy was introduced to Deity in a way he never expected…I feel honored and humbled each time we visit.

There is wealth of symbolism in your cardinal experiences. Doves on Noah’s ark, winged cherubim on the ark of the covenant, the Holy Ghost in the form of a dove, the feathered serpent God of ancient America, wings spoken of in the revelatory books, etc. but what I was thinking about most as your were sharing your experience with these divine witnesses, was that it almost a way that God is encouraging you to look upwards towards Him which is the greatest wisdom we can gain from our personal religious experiences.

I love your channel because it just provides further proof that if we seek truth, we will eventually find it. You've approached every faith and denomination in this journey with sincerity and a willingness to learn, even if you didn't necessarily agree or believe everything they were teaching. You still listened and that is a very hard thing for anyone to do and it's a testament to your humility. You were inquisitive and asked questions, instead of working off of assumptions or the teachings of others. You went straight to the source and found out for yourself. So I don't think any member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is at all surprised where your story has eventually landed because we all know that this really is His Church, thanks to the restoration of the fullness of His gospel through Joseph Smith, and you found exactly what you were seeking. Nevertheless, we all love to see it because, not only are we happy for YOU, but having this little window into your life provides yet another testimony to us that testifies to the truthfulness of all of it!
To answer your question though - I visited the Sacred Grove when I was in my early twenties. Unfortunately, my faith was not very strong at the time so I didn't get everything out of it that I could. But it was very surreal, knowing that you're standing in the place where Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph. I have two boys, ages 8 and 10, and I plan to take a trip back there with them in the next few years so they can see that special place for themselves.

I remember at the age of 9 traveling through New York, on our way to Utah, we stopped at the sacred Grove, I had only had the holy ghost for a year, but at that moment, wandering alone, and wondering, "where did he decide to kneel?" And thinking this ray of light would descend and suddenly show my little mine year old self where it was. 😊however, the entire experience is engraved upon my heart and the feelings that were there. You felt you had to whisper it was so abundantly spiritual. I forget or have forgotten a lot of living back east 40-ish years ago. But THAT experience I have remembered to this day.
