I drive for Uber and now this makes sense. There were four huge guys that got into my 2014 Ford focus SE titanium hatchback. And yes we had to go up and down some small hills but I got a message to stop and wait over transmission is hot, stop wait five minutes. Well the guys got out to go to the nightclubs they were going to… and I just sat there for 30 minutes just to be safe.. and when I googled the problem, it told me to make sure when I come to a red light just to put my car in neutral. But I had absolutely no problems going home. I had my transmission replaced at 80,000 miles so it hasn’t even been 20,000 miles since the transmission was replaced. Ford is now owning up to the issues with the Ford focuses and some other Fords. I received a letter about three months ago from Ford. They are going to reimburse me any money spent replacing my transmission if it was under 100,000 miles which it was. And now Ford has extended all transmission issues up to 150,000 miles.. so you might want to let people know this. I’m in the state of Texas and I do know that there are several other states that Ford is honoring this to people who own Ford focus SE mines a hatchback titanium… so I really hope that was the problem having for huge guys in my vehicle….. because when I saw these guys I was like I don’t know how you’re all gonna fit in my car. Anyway I feel a lot better now.

I have more than enough transmission oil, I just changed the top transmission coolant line and not sure but it sucks getting that warning on the side of the road.

Could also be because you're not getting enough air flow through your radiator
Yes if the transmission cooler is blocked. Some transmission cooler is built together with the radiator. Check for build up of leaves.

What about transmission light always on even on cold start??
I was driving fast and reckless on my truck my transmission started overheating said 240 I stopped turned off truck waited 10 min and truck run good 5 min later it started over heating again it only runs good for the first 5 min everything shifts properly only when it over heats rpm start going up and down from 1rmp to 3rpm parked it’s a Chevy Silverado has 6L80 have you ever experienced something similar ??

Unfortunately, Chevys are notorious for having transmission issues like that. Of course all cars will have them but especially a Chevy. You might have needed to change the fluid. That’s how I fixed my issue. It was similar to yours, but it will only happen if I were on the freeway. When I drove on a regular road it wouldn’t do that
My Lexus temp light comes on after 20 minutes drive and the whole car shuts off. Wait about 15 minutes and it gos again. It’s his us continuously and can’t find the problem
