A new series focusing on the reptiles of British Columbia. This video showcases the Northwestern Garter Snake found in SW BC. Sorry I didn't get around to posting this for a long time, Enjoy!
awesome! sounds like a great idea to me! i haven't been out that much myself this year, but later in the summer i'm planning to get out to a couple spots to find some of the rarer species we get here in CT.
copperheads are totally on that list dude. i'm actually surprised we haven't seen any already. hopefully i can actually get some decent footage of them this year. last year we saw 4 in one week (3 of them were sitting together) but i didn't have my good camera then >-
This is a fantastic overview. Habitat and all. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome man! just caught a red sided a few days ago btw do they bite?
They CAN bite, but are generally very calm snakes. If they chew on something, there’s a mild venom, but it cannot harm people.
Your alot better at talking about the species than I am. Very pretty snake.
good stuff man, nice vid and very nice garter

I would say no, I've caught at least thirty since April, and I have not been bitten or struck at.
Thanks dude! I'm hoping to get out and film some new species this season!

Thanks man, but it doesn't matter, you find way cooler stuff! Hopefully I'll be able to turn up some new species this season!
Dude, Copperheads!!
I think you will.
That's Awesome!
A snake we think was a northwestern garter lived next to my house, and he seemed to trust me, probably cuz I bond with animals reeeeaaaaly fast.
They can be so beautiful! Anything that eats slugs is a-okay with me! Hope he didn’t get you stinky!

i have a garter snake that looks exactly like that
I always think about leaving a like on a good snake video, and I always leave a dislike on snake abuse videos, and this video earned a... like!
