That German destroyer the Schonberg you saw looks very interesting. It seems like a Merker with one less gun, faster reload, a second midline torpedo rack and it has sonar. From what I’m looking at, it looks very strong. Would love to see your thoughts on it and the other rentals.

She seems to have improved secondary accuracy. My Veneto/Lepanto has a wider spread even with porcupine and properly meticulous equipped though I don't have haruna. But still the combined buffs of the two skills exceeds her base trait.
Lets be honest derka is the best legends youtuber super helpful great commentary and without your videos i wouldn't be able to play half my ships and you've made me want to buy this campaign for the Michelangelo

It is absolutely absurd that these things can sit a couple kilometers from you and just hit you with fire-starting secondaries (not to mention the primaries). This thing is the size of an _Alaska_ and should be treated as-such, essentially a light battlecruiser. Instead it’s treated a light cruiser. Absolutely nuts.
👍450 In a year of odd-ish campaign ships, I'm predicting that we shall see the Illinois as a campaign ship by the end of this year! Now that I got that bold yet un-risky prediction out of the way, I must say that this video has got me rather intrigued about this ship. It's perfectly odd and yet apparently perfectly fun because it's perfectly capable of being effective, not in a perfect way, and that's perfectly fine with me. I know that it is a game but wargaming sells WoW as a game that brings to life real ships, unfinished ships and paper ships, but bro, that crap isn't something realiable. I can guarantee you that this crap is just a random idea from someone or maybe just an IA design. That thing remembers me Ultimate Admiral Dreadnought ship desins from the dumb AI, that AI just do crap ships lol
I’ve used the ship with a bb captain but only got like 10.3 10.2 range on secondary builds. But the guns only had 16.1 km so unlikely to keep using her like that but she is a good ship I like her

3:41 same here. I thought since I just opened Graf Spee as a commander and Ranked is finally available to me to play (the last one had a tier where I don't have any ships) so I thought I go try it. Every match was the same, I got spotted, 3-4 player targets me, my team is nowhere to be seen (eventhough we were together until then), I get hit with one salvo and lose half my health if not all. But I need the resource it gives when I rank up so I can upgrade my upgrades
If you're losing half your health with one salvo you're doing something wrong. Reading your comment about the last ranked being to high tier for you I'm guessing you're quite new, there's a channel called tbull he has some really good videos on how newer players can improve their game.
Watching potato quality playing it a while ago was very interesting, probably one of the only ships I really wanna get and have a couple of builds in mind
One benefit the Schroeder has over this ship is the plethora of german bb commanders with universal traits. Unlike de revel with th bb reload, hyde having the higher max health and dispersion buff in the 3rd slot give Schroeder option that Michelangelo doesn't get

Personally I like the agility for brawling, I run mimbelli on Napoli too. It’s just my preference. It’s never let me down on Amalfi, Napoli and gang. I think I play AL Zara on Brindisi, so I had a different test bed for stats. Zara didn’t impress me tbh. Just use sansonetti

Hey Derka, I think players are missing the boat if not playing this as an AA killer. I have more fun shooting AA’s than the secondaries. 58 AA guns. I think I have more fun in this than the Rochester. Try it out.

An Italian Cruiser that has to turn broadside to use its full main armament? Not ashamed to say I had an extremely bad feeling about that. But you're kind of having me take a second look. It does occur to me that the bizarre gun arrangement could be advantageous in close-in drive-by attacks.

“Showing broadside” is the classic desirable position for warships. What is wrong with this game that discourages that? The Hood was lost because it was trying to close on the Bismarck, and could not turn broadside. The angular error should be small enough to always hit, while the range uncertainty is dominant.
I actually saw them beta testing this ship a while back in one of my matches...i was so confused...now it all makes sense.

I think it would make more sense. Going broadside in real naval engagements wasnt as big as a deal as it is in this game with hyper accurate guns
Going broadside was the strategy irl. Get the heaviest salvo possible while exposing the most armored parts of the ship to return fire.
