She is from Ultron's prime world. And she also had the means of defeating him, which is why the Watcher gathered all the other heroes and teleported directly to her world.
I love how Gamora was the first to distrust Killmonger. As an assassin and possibly betrayed people to complete her mission, she senses this with Killmonger.
@@abaddon5759 To be fair, even the MCU version betrays Thanos. This Gamora probably managed to kill Thanos in her universe which explains the armor and weapon.
@@basicsimp8798 yeah she kills thanos, the watcher called her the destroyer of thanos. We were gonna get her episode this season but it was delayed to season 2 bc of Covid
Captain Carter is talking to Natasha. That’s Black Widow during Winter Soldier era. It’s a shot for shot replication of those scenes just with Peggy instead of Steve
I really love how this episode put forward watcher's point of view too because everyone criticizes the character but at the end he does care narrating the stories is all he does, they are all he has so obviously he does care
I think the Watcher needed someone stubborn and “disposable” enough to trap in a pocket dimension with Zola. Someone who will keep fighting for the Infinity Stones.
In episode 1 of What IF, we know that no matter what universe and who got the super soldier serum, Steve and Peggy's love will always be true. Endgame: After fighting for the longest time, sacrificing so much, and being a hero, Steve left it all behind to go back to the love of his life. In this finale of What IF: Even if it's a small chance, Peggy asked the Watcher if she could go back to the love of her life. Even out of time, she also yearns for the chance to go back to Steve. Heartbreaking and emotional, until the Watcher simply states... her universe needs Captain Carter and doesn't spoil it at all. In some subtle way, the Watcher does kinda help fulfill Peggy's wish indirectly.
I won't give up yet! Hope you get to start on Netflix's Daredevil, Mary. I'm telling you: there's no other superhero media on Netflix that crafts its story and develops all of its characters (from the Protagonist to the Antagonist and even the side characters of the show) to such a high degree. the camera work is beautiful, the dialogue impactful, and city-level stakes actually feel high by the time we get to Season 3
This episode was epic just seeing The Watcher assemble The Guardians of the Multiverse to fight Ultronvision was awesome. Now I know we are all excited for Hawkeye's series coming soon.
I was bummed that they never resolved what happened in Zombieland MCU, but maybe we'll find out in Season 2. At least we got Zombie Wanda lending a helping hand.
In the comics the top of the hierarchy of power are beings that don't have duplicates in the multiverse. The watchers are a technologically advanced species not omnipotent and omnipresent of the entirety of existence. In the show he is beyond cosmic entities, beyond the celestials. Beyond the infinity stones which all have copies of themselves in other universes. Episode 8 with the fight with Ultron he didn't break his arbitrary vow. Breaking his none interference vow would be flat out deleting every Ultron from every universe and would instead be the MCU version of The living tribunal.
Wait... you really couldnt tell that was Natasha in the beginning with Captain Carter? In the beginning of the Winter Soldier movie Captain American and Black Widow get sent to the same boat as we see in this episode. They replaced Captain America with Captain Carter but kept Natasha the same. This is current time with current natasha... not an ancestor of Natasha. It is Natasha.
First I love this episode. Second it would have been so dope if Natasha change from animation into live action and came to the MCU, that would have been amazing.
Honestly glad the crusher didn’t work. Breaking those things is a massive no-no. Luckily sacred timeline Thanos was wise enough to make the Infinite Mist.
The MCU doesn’t abide by the comic rules. MCU Thanos reduced his stones to atoms in the main timeline, and this weapon probably just does the same thing. It even looks powered by the Soul Stone considering they had to steal it from Ultron. This version of Gamora was apparently supposed to get a whole episode this season, but it got pushed to season 2, so we’ll know more about her and how the Infinity Crusher works when that comes out.
the whole time i was watching episode 1, the only thing i could think abt is what if Steve was the winter soldier. In this episode we got that parallel which was awesome
An episode without a cheesy horror movie tomato surprise ending. I'm shocked. ...I actually enjoyed this one. Interesting that they brought together the different alternate worlds for the final episode.

Seeing Arnim Zola’s face on an android’s torso was a nice comic book reference. We never got that in the MCU proper

The actually have it as an Easter egg in the first avenger
well the What If series is MCU canon so it’s technically *in* the MCU now

Interesting how Natasha trust Peggy enough to tell her about Alexi (and presumably the rest of her family)
Not even Hawkeye knew about them
By that same logic is the same reason Nat doesn't know about his middle name or his nickname for grandmother.
this chapter is proof that no matter the multiverse is falling apart, Killmonger will always remain in the same mindset

The Watcher didn’t want to put Tony on the line because he’s sick to see him die again and again.
