Thank you so much for this video! I was sitting here trying FOREVER to make my reusable K Cup work and I just hadnt taken the thing that was already inside the mini kurig out. Now it works like a charm. Thanks a million!
Searched high and low for the way the use the universal K cup. Even Keurig didn't have anything helpful. Thanks to your video, I just had my 1st cup of coffee!!
Thank you! I had no idea I had to remover the internal holder to get the reusable filter to fit. I also didn’t realize how firmly I had to push the cup in. Now I can use my machine!!!
Thank you for your video! Save me from returning my K-mini. I want to use it with the universal adapter and when I was trying it this morning the universal adapter got stuck. Then I saw your video about removing the bottom part of the adapter and now I am enjoying my first cup of coffee from my K-Mini!! Thanks again!!!!
great explanation, thanks! I had bought the reusable and thought it didn't work, because I didn't realize you had to remove the black cup from the Keurig first. Will buy another and try.
Thank you for showing us how to use the reusable kpod with the mini plus. I wasn't sure if I had to use the adapter and when I first tried, the whole thing just fell through. I'm now using it without the adapter and it is perfect!
I couldn’t figure out the adapter, thanks for the video, I’ll keep an eye out for coarse ground. Also, I have the same color, but none of the reusable cups would work on the mini, but this one did
thanks for this video! this helped me figure out the adapter and finally get a cup of delicious coffee. btw, I have a sky blue version of this Keurig and I love it. space-saving and such a fun color!! thanks again for taking the time to make this video :)
I bought this machine this weekend. We got the eco filters and couldn’t fit them in. Thank you for your video. Super excited to use it tomorrow morning. Happy Holidays.
unless specified pre-ground coffee is ground for filtered drip coffee which is a medium grind. super fine = espresso, and the course grind is generally used in a french press. a lot of times grinders in stores or when you buy from a coffee shop it's by TYPE of brewer because few people know what number on a grinder to use. Luckily I worked at a starbucks 20 some odd years ago, and i'm a diehard coffee lover. :)
Thank you so very much for this video! I love this color. I bought a black one from the Target website at the Black Friday price for $49.99 for my brother for Christmas. That is an amazing price soooooo I decided to get myself one, the aqua color. The QVC mini plus was $8.00 for shipping. Target had free shipping so I went with Target. I will pick up the k-cup’s that we can put our own coffee in too. That will be a savings. Thanks again for your very informative video. I’m excited about this!👏👏👏
I did this exact thing. Your little story is like I wrote it. I love the slim version. Though I do wish the size cup was a little larger but that’s all you get with the basic.
Very helpful video. Got the plus as a gift the other day. Initially thought the adapter did not fit, but per the video after lining it up and adding a little pressure it popped right in. However, when I try to remove it the clip portion pops off. Not sure what I may be doing wrong, but it's easy enough to fish it out and clip it back on. Tomorrow I may try without it or double checking it's more firmly attached. Anyway, thanks again.
O had that problem too and so I use it without the adapter. The lid is wide enough to keep the filter in place, but without it, it falls in and you have to fish it out, so I fill it first then screw on the lid and pop it in
This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
Good vid. When I brewed a cup (after figuring out how to use the bewildering universal k-cup) and it shut down my entire computer power surge protector strip. I couldn't brew a cup and run a computer on the same breaker..... XD
Bought k-mini on amazon the my k cup does work. Make sure you remove the plus adapter or it wont fit. Btw the water reservoir doesn't come out same with the water catch base. The plus fixes all this problems.
This is a great, thorough review. Thank you! I think I'm going with the Plus when I do finally buy it because I like the "strong" button and the removable reservoir.
I would have liked to have seen you actually fit it in close up, since that's where I'm having trouble. But at least you said the My K-cup does fit. Thanks for the vid.
I was in between the Nespresso or Keurig couple years ago but since they came out with a reusable filter I still had to think 🤔 about it since Keurig is so popular the original Keurig was a bit large until the K-mini caught my eye 😍 the color ❤️ the size , the price was still high 😬 but thanx for Black Friday I got it on sale too 👍 Bought the filter on Amazon it took me awhile to detach the adapter. Thanx for this video btw, i use to do a pour over coffee, but now this k-mini is super convenient and cute I was hesitant to get it but I’m glad I did.
I got scared at the snap as well because it made the rectangle thingy pop off so I think that was supposed to happen. I just brewed a cup and it worked.
excellent video, to the point, informative, spoke clearly and answered all my question and now waiting on my mini plus to arrive, ordered it for cyber monday on amazon thanks! :)
@livingthesimplelife Just a comment. When you are talking about the tall cup it will accommodate do you realize the bottom spill area also pulls off so you can use even a taller tumbler.
Great review, thank you! Today I checked Amazon and if you are okay with the black, the K-Mini PLUS is $83.99. Red is $99 and no other colors that I noticed.
Did the keurig have to be pushed to snap in place over the filter, or did it slide down with the fluid/normal resistance and the snap I heard was the silver part hitting g the blue? I am so confused with mine, when I put the filter in, there is resistance inside, like plastic hitting plastic. I can get it to close, but not until after there is an unnatural snap of plastic in there. I can't for the life of me figure out which part is not in place right. Please help!
just got this on QVC, thank you so much for this video, I could not figure out how to use the universal adapter - Im afraid to pop the original out but I guess that is how you do it!!! Not sure if I like, may send back- I am a tea drinker and wanted to brew loose leaf tea but not so sure how it will come out....QVC made it look so easy and you could brew anything!!!! LOL
It hard the first couple of times but after that it gets easier to pop out. Did they brew loose leaf with the universal adapter on QVC? I've never seen that, I have been afraid to try it so I just brew hot water into my cup with a strainer. It's convenient when I only want one cup and I dont want to take the time to boil the water
WOW that's Tiny, I had no idea that Keurig made that. All this time I thought the k-10 and k-15 were tiny geez I definitely am wrong LOL. I have one of the k-15 models but I switched to using the k200 and I like it more than the k-15.
Just wanted to share that I brought this today (the normal plus edition from bestbuy) and also the my k cup. Like you said the my k cup doesn’t fit with the “plus” adapter. This prompted me to do some research. When I looked up the my k cup the original k mini is under an original series not the plus. This also reminded me of something that the manager said at Best Buy “it’s only called a plus because it comes with a storage pod” and like you said the strong button. So I think by the my k cup standards it is considered a original model and is not to be used with the adapter. Hope this helps.
I just bought one for Black Friday and I filled it up to the max line (12oz) and only got 8 oz’s. Over all I like like it just have to run it twice to get my fill.
Hi! I bought this recently, too. Which My K cup version is that? I have the old one and it's not working properly. Water spitting out. Wondering if I need the 2.0. Thanks!
I just looked online as I no longer have my box and it didnt say what version it was, but the one I have is called the My K-cup universal reusable coffee filter, and it was 14.99 at target. Included in the box were instructions on how to use it with the classic series keurig coffee makers and the plus series. It comes with an adapter that pops onto the bottom so it can be used in different machines. I have used it with the adapter ( although it was somewhat difficult) but I mostly use it without. I just have to load the filter outside the coffee maker and screw the lid on, and then pop it into the machine, as the lid keeps the filter from falling into the machine.
I have to have the lid already screwed onto mine for it to stay up or it will fall in. I'm getting a lot of questions about the adapter, I may make a short video on how I put mine in and how to pop out the original k cup holder
You can use the hot chocolate or tea k-cups, or I like to do a brew without the adaptor or a k cup to get the hot water then I add a t-bag into my cup.
This universal cup fit for me but the lock is unreliable , so many times the top of the k cup pops up and raw coffee grounds end up in the trash. After 8 months use the k cup is broken and now in the trash
Please add a short (1-2 minute) video on how to use the universal K Cup. Although your video was informative, I was only searching for the info on the universal K Cup. Thanks!!

I had no clue that a part came out of the k mini so that you can fit in the universal coffee filter. Thank you so much for the in-depth video.

I bought this machine today. i just love it! Target has it online for $49 black friday price today only! Love the slim size. I had the k15 .
That's an amazing price! You can't beat the size, I've really fallen in love with it.
Omg that’s so funny that’s exactly why I’m looking up reviews because I saw target had it for 50! Good to know you love it!
It’s currently on sale for 69 but I think I’ll wait for Black Friday do you guys recommend this model?

I have exactly this Keurig and the back side where you put the water comes off if you lift it up. I always lift up the reservoir to put water.
The water reservoir does come off on the mini +. I got the + model because of the strong button.

not quick... but answered my question about the filter - thank you :)
Is it supposed to make that snap noise when closing the lid?
Yes that is popping a hole in the coffee cups at top and bottom to let the water go through
I got scared at the snap as well because it made the rectangle thingy pop off so I think that was supposed to happen. I just brewed a cup and it worked.
Okay so I'm confused that was too long can we use our own coffee grounds with this keurig or not ??

K mini plus with the strong brew makes a big difference in tastes.
how long does the hot water get hot

does any one know if I can buy it online on black friday or do I have to go to store? thanks xo
Well the other 2 are going back because that top pin wants to punch on top of the lid and not go into that hole!!!
Coffee should be brewed to at least 190-205 deg to be properly and fully brewed. Just hot is not good
