I agree- it really mad me sad to see him making such insensitive remarks. There’s a difference between not liking the texture of something and calling it snot. I had to stop after a while because it really felt like he was just mocking things. Hopefully they get a better understanding of the different food culture and learn from this.
Within 6 months there'll be a Babish Beat Off trying to recreate that Japanese Convenience Store Churro Doughnut.
Babish _has_ had onigiri. It's from when he made Brock's Donuts, and turned his frying pan into a drying pan.
3:35 YIKESS NOT IN JAPAN 😭😭😭😭😭
Came to the comment section looking for this comment🤣🤣👍
I think that was what they were going for in the 40s
NOT *AGAIN!!!*
うわあああ!
Babish
When new people come to Japan with no knowledge of the cuisine, but like American sushi; I like to take them to a sushi-go-round and tell them the natto is a crunchy peanut butter. I'm not of fan it, but a lot of people love it.😂
Between not heating the items that were obviously supposed to be heated and Babish having the worst smug, know-it-all vibes of anyone on youtube, this video was a tough watch.
i'm so down for Babish After Dark 😈😈😈 B.A.D.
First Emiru, now Babish. Connor really is out here doing *EVERY side-quest possible* 😭💕🙌
7/11 Egg Sandos are my go-to breakfast every time I go to Japan!
I had the egg sandwich and 7/11 pancakes almost every single day when I was in Japan. This really made me relive my time there.
Now I miss it even more.
Babish on Trash Taste would be neat since Connor appeared here
Many people already said but 7/11 and other convenience store food is mostly use microwave to heated just before eating. Yeah cold sandwich and onigiri will taste bad I know.
The spicy chicken fillet from Family Mart is 10/10.
Brad saying the “you could’ve fooled me” made me so happy
Very unexpected Connor appearance. Next thing we know Chris Broad shows up and trash talks you for not rating famichiki higher.
Calorie mate does actually indicate the flavor on the top just not in English. But the word is in katakana so it sounds analogous to the loan word if you're capable of piecing the word together. If i remember, there is chocolate, fruit, cheese, etc.
3:32 I genuinely forgot that "nuking" is slang for putting in the microwave and was flabbergasted for a moment
how does Babish not know smoked cheese?
super common in east europe, especially Russia, and very much in the form factor of a sausage..
I'm gob smacked that there was this many Japanese convenience store items taste tested, but no curry, it is easily the best thing available in all it's forms.
Babish is really working to make it a culinary universe I respect it
According to the comments, Babish needs to remake the video and microwave everything 🥹
I had a Bokksu subscription and it was so fun! But I would say I really preferred the savoury snacks than the sweet snacks.
Great seeing CDawgVA collabing with you! Hope to also see Chris and Sharla too! Or maybe Pewds! Enjoy Japan!
the chicken thigh put into the pancake is a life changing snack
If Chris Broad does not crash the Lawson segment with chicken, it will have been a huge missed opportunity.
I must have the palette of a farm animal because I loved EVERYTHING you had! Family Mart was my “go to”. Thank you!
14:56 Connor! What a great surprise!
You can tell Takashi's well mannered. cleans his plate every time.
You told Connor of all people, that you're allergic to bananas?! And he didn't flip out on you? 🤣
The Babish and Conner collab is the thing I needed today!
Japanese convenience stores hit a bit different than the US sort~! I think the closest thing we have to JP 7-Eleven, Family Mart, and Lawson's is Buc-ee's.
Also, Babish discovered that stirring natto turns it into snotto... bleaugh.
