    In this video, we take on the Edale Skyline in the Peak District. The plan was to do half, camp, then complete the rest the following day. Watch and find out what went down!
    Starting off in the village of Hope, we head up Loose Hill and follow the great ridge to Mam Tor, head over to Brown Knoll before bagging additional trig points at Kinder Low and Kinder Downfall. We then head over to the Woolpacks where it was planned to camp. The rest of the hike would be completed the following day.

    At least you set up camp.
    Fair play for deciding to complete, and not just bail altogether. 💪🏼

      One of the toughest days on my legs that was! And I've done some long distance hikes in the Lake's with my old man!

    Great video, I think you did the right thing in head back to the car. Like you said, there is no shame in ending a camp earlier, and that these are the trials in which you learn the most. Earned a subscribe from me!

      Definitely. Just made the wrong choice with the shelter that I took.

    Big up the Litchfield man, my first tent. Looks very busy there, I noticed the bloke almost stacked it near the start of the video 😂. Nice one mate ✌️

      It's not a bad tent, just not when I've tried to modify it 🤣... I think a few people almost went over 🤣. Thank you 🤙🏼

    Definitely the right decision to bail with enough time to get back to the car versus a late night windy regret one. Bet you were knackered afterwards! I've done the ogwen valley about halfway up devil's kitchen and it can be boggy up there so higher up the better. The wind gusts can be strong too but if you get the right pitch you'll be fine. Great video

    • @mananddog.outdoors
      @mananddog.outdoors  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That was part of my thinking, however, as the video shows, the rain did pass and it cleared up. Lovely sunset and stars were out as I continued the hike. But it remained windy. With my gear damp, I think I'd have struggled to stay warm and comfortable. So the correct decision. That shelter will be kept for true summer camps. Ogwen valley is great, I love it there. Thank you for watching 👍🏼

    Nothing wrong with bailing early if it saves a walk down in the dark! Live and learn so you’re more prepared next time 👍🏻 Happy hiking mate 🥾

      Lesson learned, definitely won't be making the same mishap again. On to the next one, which is this weekend so I can tick of April's camp (aiming for one each calendar month 🤞🏼)

      It's all about having the correct gear. It was all down to the mods that I did with the setup on this camp. Going to rethink those and do more mods. That way if I do get caught like that again, it shouldn't be an issue.

    I think there are two things you could do to improve this video. The first is to pause your walk when you address the camera. Set a scene. Consider the background. Consider all the points you want to make, make them and then continue the walk. Look at the scenes and the composition in videos like those of the outdoor boys. The second, and I really don't mean to be offensive, but you really need to find a way to tone down the northernness. Like at 27:36 "A few years back, me dad give it me". This is barely intelligible. You'll be more accessible to a much larger audience if you could rephrase it as "My dad gave it to me a few years ago".
    I do like this content and I want it to succeed. But these are things that need to chance quickly, or else you'll struggle to reach new audiences.

    • @mananddog.outdoors
      @mananddog.outdoors  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Firstly, thank you for watching 🙏🏼 and thanks for the constructive feedback. The first point I will take on board and will think about going forward on future videos.
      The second one, I can see your point. But do also think that someone's accent is who they are. I don't want to become someone I'm not and I'm proud of my Shropshire (raised here)/Nottingham (born here) roots. Part of how I articulate words is partly down to having a stammer, so I find I pronounce words in a way that I think helps me speak and reduce stuttering/blocking. However, I will endeavour to continue to improve, I'm not camera trained and just being in front of one, filming myself and releasing it for anyone to see if a huge step from where I was.
      Again, thank you for taking your time to watch. I appreciate all views as well as comments 👍🏼

      Absolutely agree. It's easy to focus on the negative when in the moment, it's not until you step away and reflect when you find the positives in these experiences.
