The reason that Paul is popular on here is that he is honest and personable. The videos are well made and I for one and glad of the advice. I am a middle aged man sitting here at 5am waiting for a bus to take me to the cardiff end of the Cambrian way to walk on it for three days. If I get lost in the wilderness , it's on you Paul.
So as a Tyrone man who moved to the Peak District over 20 years ago this video is my perfect ven diagram of happiness. I’ve been walking for all those years and developed into a camp addict as I got to that middle age Stephen mentioned. Thank you to both of you for the info, advice, entertainment and inspiration you have given me.

I watch you both all the time so you'll never imagine my delight when I saw this video of you both together. I think the main substance for both your content is realism. Paul the quiet mannered gentleman, sharing what he's learnt as we join in on his beautiful walks, inspires us. Stephen's similar approach in being real with his added northern Irish humour (I'm bias I'm from Comber NI). Stephen takes us on some amazing adventures and while lessons are being learnt, he never loses his humour and I love this. Thank you both for entertaining me in the times between my own adventures! Christ I enjoyed that. So so good man. The best edit I have seen in a long long time. Just brilliant. Great relaxed vibe and happy atmosphere. You can really see a good bond between you two. Loved it. 😊
one thing about Pauls' videos that makes me watch regular is the omission of music and silly tunes, just the serenity of the countryside, and whatever he says, makes watching more enjoyable.

Wow Paul looks so much more happy when someone else is videotaping. I’ve followed him for quite a while and always enjoyed watching. His adventures in building a van camper, seeing the most beautiful landscapes and witnessing his marriage to a very beautiful wife. I feel like he’s a brother.
We were discussing that although can’t remember if it’s on camera. That if you make videos, a lot of people have spent a lot of time with you even if you haven’t spent any with them. It’s kinda strange but also cool.

More of you two collaborating is very much needed. I laughed nearly all the way through. Hope you made the bog in time. Last time it happened to me was on top of a busy fell in the Lake District. I was half jogging half skipping down the fell to a hotel. Seemed to take ages and if I had tripped up it would have been explosive. The sweat was pouring off me and in a state of panic when I asked the hotel if I could use their toilet.
I made it to the campsite loo with seconds to spare. Ran the last mile with my entire kit on my back 😂 Was scoping out various hedges on the way as a backup

I've no intention to start camping any time soon, but I do watch (and enjoy!) your camping videos Stephen; part due to the environment (I'm from the Netherlands > mostly boringly flat), your video skills and yourself ;-) And? Was the emergency dealt with in a timely and joyful manner??
@@StephenJReid We do have some 'mountains' ('berg' in dutch) in the extreme southeastern point of the Netherlands, close to the 3 country point where the Netherlands meet both Belgium and Germany. They're more like 'hills' though; highest one is the Vaalserberg, which is a whopping 322 meters high!!
Very enterrtaining video, but I feel that Paul had been maligned...LOL. Don't worry Paul, I will still stay subscribed,,,VBG. I am a 75+ male from Australia, have done some minor solo bush walking and camping many years ago. It is amazing the improvements to tents, air beds and cookware since those days....
@@StephenJReid I had a swag way back in 1965 when I was planning some motorcycle touring of Tasmania. My main tent, back then was a 'Paddy Pallin' 7x5 light canvas wall tent. Used that to introduce my wife to small tent camping... Had many tents over the years. Currrent tent is a Black Wolf cabin 450.....hehehehe Car camping only, these days..
Im one of those who has no desire to go tent camping, and enjoys watching others do so. Growing up, dad took us camping a lot. Never to campgrounds tho. He would find a spot of BLM land on the map and that's where we set up. I enjoyed all the wonderful scenery. When puberty hit and I was no longer a small, scrawny child that fit into the tiny bit of extra space in a 2 person tent with the parents, and the terrible foam inflatable pads, camping got a lot less fun. As an adult, until my health went to shit, I loved day trips around the area.
Which camera? This was shot on DJI Action 4 (for the walk and talk parts and a lot of other bits), Sony A7siii with 20-40mm f2.8 lens for the really clean looking shots, Insta360 1 Inch edition for the third person walking shots & DJI Air3 for the drone shots. That’s a very expensive setup, I only have all that kit because I do video commercially. All the footage is shot flat and then colour graded after. A video like this takes me about 7-10hours to edit. And no problem!
A bit sad? I love making videos. But just remember every video uses illusion to tell a story. That’s what you enjoy about it. Otherwise we would all be watching unedited videos. The raw footage for this video is about 2hours long.

That was fun. Thank you both. I look forward to your other videos. Just subscribed👍🙂
Thanks!
Your videos are class my friend keep up the good work m8 so what drone do you use mate
My friend???
Thanks! For this video I was using the new DJI Air3. I got sent it by DJI. It’s got two lenses so it gives you lots of options.
Used to love walking there. You captured it perfectly !
Thank you! Have one more short video from the same area on the way.
How dare you Stephen! We only carry Mr Paul ❤ part way on a commode chair ! He always insists on walking the final 100 yards unaided .😊
I could have done with that commode chair by the end of this! 🙂
Brilliant video with your usual cinematic quality....great banter between Paul and yourself....superb....many thanks and best wishes
Thanks Andy!
THIS IS JUST THE BEST THANK YOU,NEW SUB🙏
Definitely want to see this crossover again 😂
Did one 1.5years ago: th-cam.com/video/m9IHAOg4urY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EfZsmbrkuu3ZBFMm so that means it’ll likely be 2025 before we managed another one 🙈
Brilliant collab and great chemistry, sounds like you had a good laugh and good fellowship. 👍
Thanks! Worked well, I insult him, we all laugh. Repeat 😅
I watch ALL of Paul's videos. I am a 68 year old women who is disabled and I live in Canada.
🔝 🍌 chaps, enjoyed that. 😁
Thanks Wallace 😁😁
The only thing missing is bull dog where is she?
Who is bull dog?
Hahaa Loved the title. However Paul isn't a Fraud but he is a Leg End....errrrr I mean Legend:)
Haha indeed!
Brilliant! Really enjoyed that! 👌 Paul should call his podcast 'Mini Mez Moans' 😜🤣
Thanks Gaz, you did say I should do more Clickbait titles 😛 "Mini Mez" 🤣
@@StephenJReid I think this one hits the spot 😉 great content too! This should do well 👌
The eastenders reference is absolutely spot on!
Brilliant. Great to see someone so experienced and comfortable they can laugh at themselves. So many people can relate to that. More power to your elbow. Or knees maybe. 😅
I’m a firm believer in not taking yourself too seriously 😂
Cracking video. Well shot and edited. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Just subscribed. Will be back to watch a few more!...Nige 😀👍
Thanks Nige! A bit of a mix on here so have a look around I’ve got about 400 videos on here.
You got him! I always knew he was a fraud. Lol! An old guy fighting the elements voluntarily in sight of his warm lovely home. Who does that? I think he is addicted to buying expensive gear, we all can not afford anyway. Mean!
Fighting the elements is what keeps us alive, we slowly melt away in warm and comfort.
I'm a bivi camper, went on a camp with some hammockers got told to watch shug, watch all his vids yet didn't own a hammock?? So entertaining tho👍🏻
I'll figure out hammocks some day
Top video this boys! some place Kinder! I love up going up there myself, lucky enough to live really close!
Thanks! Jealous of the people who live with places like this on their doorstep
I've no intention to start camping any time soon, but I do watch (and enjoy!) your camping videos Stephen; part due to the environment (I'm from the Netherlands > mostly boringly flat), your video skills and yourself ;-)
And? Was the emergency dealt with in a timely and joyful manner??
You should start a campaign to build some mountains 😂. Yes I made it back just in time!
I’ve learned something new! This must be related to why icebergs are called “bergs” ice “mountains”
@@StephenJReid Never thought of that, but you might have a point there :-) We Dutchies were sailing everywhere.
been a sub of paiuls for along time and this video was a great insight into the other side of him well done.
Thanks! He's a fun spud
Have you used a swag? I’d never heard of them before until someone commented. Apparently Australian invention.
3:19 people watch running videos so they don't have to do any running themselves.
I watch videos of firemen putting out fires.
I don’t know the guy, but I surely like his spirit and energy….really enjoyed the video.
I watch Paul all the time and i used to camp but i'm in Thailand and it's too hot but i miss it , I live my camping life vicariously through Paul
Cracking video - looks like fun was had :)
It was indeed thanks!
its called entertainment, got to be better than watching strictly. keep it up Paul.
I just came across with this video. I enjoyed watching it. Thumbs up. Subscribed. Well done. Must check out Paul's story now. LOL
Awesome 😎 really enjoyed this lads
Thanks Craig!
Stephen, what is that camera? I will upgrade some day, but have ZERO idea wtf I am doing. BTW, thanks for all the help via email. You're a gent!
@@StephenJReid damn man, that's a lot of work. It really shows!
A bit sad? I love making videos. But just remember every video uses illusion to tell a story. That’s what you enjoy about it. Otherwise we would all be watching unedited videos. The raw footage for this video is about 2hours long.
