Jeremy Irons was, undoubtely, the perfect actor to give life to Scar. His british accent mixed with his acting skill putting sarcasm, mockery, arrogance and the right amount of poison into Scar's lines were amazing.
Wow, imagine quitting to do Home Alone 2 and then seeing the success of The Lion King. I like Tim Curry, but I am happy with the outcome. Jeremy Irons does a phenomenal job, especially the "Oooo, I quiver with fear!"
That's what I was thinking. Sometimes it's those chance changes of heart or scheduling conflicts that result in a casting that you now couldn't imagine having gone the other way. It's crazy.
That's what I was thinking. Sometimes it's those chance changes of heart or scheduling conflicts that result in a casting that you now couldn't imagine having gone the other way. It's crazy.
What? Is Jim Cummings an interesting song? Is it Jim Cummings as Scar that makes for an interesting song? Or is it Be Prepared that is an interesting song?
Yeah. His voice is almost similar to Grant Goodeve, the voice actor for Wolf O’Donnell, who is also an antagonist who plots overthrow power from Fox McCloud in the Star Fox franchise. 📺📺🦁🦁🦊🦊🐺🐺🔍🔍🚀🚀🪐🪐 Both Scar and Wolf O’Donnell almost have the same plot to gain power from that protagonist. 😨😨🙁🙁☹️☹️
I'm going to say it. Jeremy Irons was THE BEST choice. I do not think that anyone else would have the ability to throw out their voice for a song. Props to Jeremy, and literally any other Scar VA. (coming from his no.1 glazer...)
Jeremy irons a true legend He voiced one of the most iconic villains of all time. His voice is just so amazing. I can literally listen to Jeremy talk for hours and I don't get bored at all literally he can teach me that deep English accent That's for sure.
Greetings. Jeremy Irons will always be the legendary Disney icon as Scar, his character. ⭐️⭐️🏆🏆👑👑🦁🦁🌳🌳⛰️⛰️🌅🌅📺📺📼📼 The way he read his line , “I quiver with fear”, that was bone-chilling, but he definitely nailed it as his character well. Jeremy Irons 💯% matches Scar’s character perfectly. Well done, Jeremy Irons. James Earl Jones did fantastically marvelous with his role as the caring, fun-loving and wise Mufasa. James Earl Jones did an amazing job. My goodness, 30 years later since this majestic and wonderful film came out in 1994, the 30th anniversary, good God, how quickly time flies. 👑👑🦁🦁📺📺📼📼🕰️🕰️⏳⏳🎂🎂🥂🥂🍾🍾 👏👏 This film is timeless, amazing and beautiful. I always wondered who did the voice for Scar , the voices of both lions were so powerful they couldn’t have made better choices for these characters ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🦁👑
2 things, 1st scar is my favorite villian in an animated cartoon and I full heartedly believe he wouldn't have been if he wasn't voiced by Irons. 2nd it's crazy that longer haired Jeremy Irons somehow looks 10 maybe 15 years younger than short haired Jeremy Irons.
My favorite Disney lion villain but he is so good because he may be a villain and good I got to tell you his performance is the reason why he is my favorite Disney lion villain character
As someone who loves Tim Curry, dropping out of this role (and the Joker from “Batman: TAS” for that matter) is one of the best decisions he has made in his career. We got the right voices out of the bargain.
When I watched the film Kingdom of Heaven, during the scene where Tiberias screamed, I realized that his voice was similar to Scars, and at that moment I found out that Jeremy Iron was the voice of Scars..😅
If you like Jeremy Irons and big cats, one should watch "The Eye Of The Leopard", a great award winning documentary on a young Leopard, a coming of age story if you will, on a Leopard called Legadema. Narrated by.. Jeremy Irons 👏🏼👏🏼
He does narrate a lot of Joubert documentaries, he did one too for lions - his voice is just amazing, documentary or animated movie, doesn't matter, I can listen him for hours :D Also the Joubert documentaries are sooooo amazing, giving a proper story for the animals they are documenting, pairing that with Irons classical acting and voice is just perfection.
“You have some spirit for one so small, and such spirit is deserving of a sporting chance. Now I’m going to close my eyes and count to ten! It makes the chase more interesting for me. One….Two……Three……Four….You’re trying my patience. Five six seven eight NINE TEN. RAAAAAAWWWRRRGGGHHH!!!!”
As much as I love the acting of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jeremy Irons' voice is just another league. It’s like trying to replace James Earl Jones as Darth Vader with someone like Chris Tucker - brilliant in his own way, but it just wouldn’t bring the same commanding presence, no matter how hard he tries.
Honestly, I love Wagner Moura as Death in Puss and Boots, but when he says “I love the smell of fear” I always think to Jeremy Irons voice performance as Scar when he says “I quiver with fear” since the guttural growl he adds to the line is so perfect. If Moura did that play Death I think Jeremy Irons would have been a great candidate.
Jeremy probably saw the same Shakespearean parallels that the movie's producers did, which is what pushed him to take the role. Also, I heard for years that David Bowie was also on the list for the part, but he was tied up with making his newest album at the time. (2/8/2024)
Do you think that, even after the complete writings of all books by Tolkien, people would simply live Tolkien's world? Well that's exactly what we did in Dungeons and Dragons. Welcome aboard friend as we go on an adventure.
Did he have laryngitis that day and couldn’t finish the song? I keep hearing this story over and over again. Maybe there was a deadline and they couldn’t give him a month to recover so he could do the whole song over again.
Jeremy Irons sang the first two-thirds of the song but was having trouble with his throat and couldn't sing the rest. So Jim Cummings did it. That's the story.
Jeremy Irons' voice just shows how important voice acting is to making a character feel alive.
Yes!
Jeremy Irons was, undoubtely, the perfect actor to give life to Scar. His british accent mixed with his acting skill putting sarcasm, mockery, arrogance and the right amount of poison into Scar's lines were amazing.
💯💯💯🖤
Honestly Jeremy Irons did an awesome job at scar in the Lion King 1994
For sure
Lol you say it as if that’s a hot take
What a stunning voice ( and actor overall❤ )
He was the best!! That voice is epic
Way better than the new one
"Long live the King" the absolute coldest line delivery in all of cinema history, change my mind
Jeremy Irons Portrayal of Scar in The Lion King (1994) is Legendary.
He is the best 👌
@@SBNEnter Totally. 💯💯
Rikard Wolffs performance is better and it is the most well known voice acting performance over here in Sweden.
Where is Rikard at
Alain Rickman would of Been a great scar too and maybe Patrick Stewart
Wow, imagine quitting to do Home Alone 2 and then seeing the success of The Lion King.
I like Tim Curry, but I am happy with the outcome. Jeremy Irons does a phenomenal job, especially the "Oooo, I quiver with fear!"

Thank you, Tim Curry, for accepting the role in Home Alone 2
Irons did a phenomenal job! No wonder why Scar has become one of Disney’s best and most iconic villains!
When simba says “Your so weird uncle scar” scar says “ you have no idea” best part
Happy 30th Anniversary To Disney's The Lion King (1994-2024)
It really is one of the best. And I love how Scar looks like Jeremy.
Jim Cummings As Scar Be Prepared was an interesting song
What? Is Jim Cummings an interesting song? Is it Jim Cummings as Scar that makes for an interesting song? Or is it Be Prepared that is an interesting song?
1:17 - Long live the king...
That was cold..
One of the most iconic lines ever spoken by a villain in history.
Oh my God he was the greatest in dubbing Scar 😊❤ he has a beautiful and intimidating voice 🥰😂😉
His is Great

Even as a kid scar was my favourite character, biggest reason was Jeremy irons performance
Yeah, Jeremy Irons' voice is phenomenal 👍
Arguably the best voice work of an animated character in movies
I loved him as Scar and in the Time Machine. ❤
Love him too.
Scar is and always will be my favorite Lion King character, because of the man behind him: Jeremy Irons
Best dramatic voice work in an animated film. Robin Williams is legendary as Genie but he’s just being himself really.
I didn't know about him playing Scar in The Lion King, but his role as the Borgia pope is outstanding!
Jeremy Irons voices one of the best Disney villains.
His voice is perfect
I can see Tim Curry being Scar too, but great phenomenal choice Jeremy Irons😊
Jeremy irons a true legend He voiced one of the most iconic villains of all time. His voice is just so amazing. I can literally listen to Jeremy talk for hours and I don't get bored at all literally he can teach me that deep English accent That's for sure.
Yes, resonance, Burton had that too.
I played scar in my drama club
And I gave a
wicked and evil performance

The king undisputed, respected, saluted and seen for the wonder I ammm
My life has become more beautiful as I know that Jeremy Irons voiced one of my favorite childhood characters
Yeah, he is great👍
Jeremy irons & james earl jones ....both voices are unmatched
Him saying the word “fear”
That send shivers to my spine
Along with Death from Puss in Boots saying the word “fear”
Scar is my dream role and I have always wanted to play him for the 2nd time it’s been a lifelong ambition of mine and I hope it comes true one day
That's how it starts Mufasa. The fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness.. that turns good lions cruel.
Theres is no universe where Irons saying the line "Long...live...the king" isnt iconic

I listened to his song on the soundtrack nonstop. And then fell in love with his other films when older.
Jeremy irons really Jeremy ironsed the voice of scar
I can’t believe how close they came to scuppering it. No one else can play Scar.
Exactly! Absolutely NO ONE ELSE!
My favorite Disney lion villain but he is so good because he may be a villain and good I got to tell you his performance is the reason why he is my favorite Disney lion villain character
Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen were also considered for the role of Scar before Jeremy Irons was chosen.
Yes, and it is a shame that he did not reprise his role as Scar in the 2019 remake.
As someone who loves Tim Curry, dropping out of this role (and the Joker from “Batman: TAS” for that matter) is one of the best decisions he has made in his career. We got the right voices out of the bargain.
HIs voice is so amazing!
Zira and Scar are very emotional
awesome actor
When Nala and Simba Saw The Elephant graveyard Scar Wasn't kidding Scar was right The Elephant graveyard is a dreadful place

Sólo por escuchar a Jeremy Irons compré la película en inglés cuando salió en VHS, y luego en CD...qué tiempos aquellos...

just like James Woods is made for Hades, i think Jeremy Irons will always be for Scar, no else can do it better than him
For a story that shows the main villain earlier it always needs a unique character. I love the original 25 episode of berserk.
The best, THE BEST! When A.I starts to have a serious quality I will have Jeremy in a project.
I never knew Jim Cummings had to finish the song. He did a good job.
He was phenomenal in this film
This is a really well edited video. Great job!
Thank you! I appreciate it ☺️
I’d recognize that growly voice anywhere
He should have been back for the remake ….
I can also picture alan rickman playing the voice of scar, but i loved jeremy as well
I totally agree he did an excellent job well he is an excellent actor.
Irons voiced him so well that when I saw the recording I thought Scar was voicing him.
I am glad he was picked. he was borm for Scar's role
Could you please do the scene where Simba talks to Scar
Long live the king!!
"Life...isn't fair!"
Best opening line!
I beg your pardon, it's, "Life's NOT FAIR!"
@@pickledpink5747 that's right! Tnx for reminding 🤗
As much as I love Tim Curry, I can't see him voicing Scar. I would've been expecting to hear Frank-N-Furter's voice.
Robbie williams(genie) and jeremy irons ( Scar) actors who devorated their animated characters.I love both job
