Usually we put the stopped rain in front of that little weight so that little weight no traveling breaks the line but I could be wrong there are so many years ago but I'm coming back do the big islands well and spend the rest of my days fishing picking opie's I just love in the weather

Better to use wire instead of mono. I’ve seen choke fish get cut off at the mono on slides. Ever since I only use wire. But up to you my braddah as there is a 1,001 ways to catch fish!! Good video, keep at it

The swivel with the big ring on it thats close to your weight should be tied with the ring side showing to your rod so that the slide doesnt pass to the weight. Hope it makes sense

Love your channel guys! I’ve never seen that type of lead sinker here on the mainland. Do you break it off every time you reel in?
If you pull hard enough the wire straightens out. Or yah sometimes lose um haha.
No ideally you reel it in and it should get tight till the legs streighten and it should pop out, But they do get stuck time to time.
Was looking to setup slide style and couldn't find anything good till now! Mahalo and will be sliding once I get what I need.

You're not I'll watch you how you do your slime babe your rig I thought it was wasn't supposed to get back close to the ground so I've been doing mine all wrong all this time if I had 4 ft of or even two feet of Hook line I'll have four feet of landline so keep them off the off the rocks but watching you it's totally different from what I was taught when I get back home I'm going to try that just see what works better thank you
Would it be OK to tie the weight line to the ring rather than the swivel? 🤔
Or the other way around? Tie the ring to the main line and the weight line to the swivel?
ideally you want to tie the weight line to the ring but to each their own
