    Tascam we need native timecode that works with deity or tentacle devices.

    • @photronic
      @photronic ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, or just even a sync input to jam, or for continuous. Many manufacturers seem to think we'll just use whatever they narrowly accommodate, as if we'd simply dump the other real-world devices we use on major sets. I came here to see if this could be an additional recorder for me in smaller rig configs, and the TC seems to be the dealbreaker. Yeah, researched more, and they are obviously in bed with Atomos, where their only sync is via BT, and Atomos only. Really silly. I bet they will lose thousands of sales. Maybe there's a hack?

      Totally agree!! By allowing their customers to use multiple brands, it gives their customers a reason to still buy their products. Deity doesn’t offer an audio recorder like the X8.

      From what I'm seeing, you could feed a Deity TC-1 into one of the audio inputs enabling the use of those for syncing. I agree with what you said about the 'relationship' with Atomos. I use a BMD Video Assist 12G and multiple Nikon mirrorless cameras and want to sync that all together. I think doing this might work.

      @@fourwheelerjock Yeah, as much as I am intrigued by the Deity ecosystem, this could be the way to go. So, what's your workflow using both devices? That would be helpful. Major issue with the way TASCAM is discussing 32 bit float point. The most important thing for me is knowing 32 bit float point is available on all channels. Can you record on all 8 channels at 32 bit, or does TASCAM truncate like many recorders do? Why not give this information in your video! Also, does the 6 channel unit record 32 bit on all channels, or just two?

    • @TASCAMUSA

    listen how loud the preamps are as soon as he hit the record button. I bought on e and am horrified at how noisy these pre's are... rendering it useless to me in a professional environment. Just cause it does 32bit float don't mean my boat does. This one is a fail for me.

      @demarsman2 I would have to agree. A bit misleading in the months up to its release to tout timecode sync and only support one vendor. Fortunately, I can still use my Tentacle Sync when plugged into Port 1 or Port 2, but kind of defeats the purpose as I lose an onboard mic.
