Congrats! we just our dream home on about the same time line as yours. Gorgeous home and property. We went modern farmhouse on a private lake so super excited to move in over the next week. Crazy stressful time to build with supply chain issues and interest rate spikes lol. Hope it wasn’t as stressful on you all.

Brought tears to my eyes. We are waiting on grading as I'm writing this to build this very house. We've been waiting 3 mos. and it is almost unbearable. We have had so much rain. Hopefully this coming week we will begin to see the spot cleared for our dream. Blessings on you in your home!

Absolutely beautiful home! My husband and I are in the building phase right now with white siding and black gutters. We are torn on roof color. If you don't mind, what color roof did you'll go with because we want that exact look.. We have narrowed it down to Certainteed Moire or Charcoal. Thanks!

What kind of siding is your board and batten? Is it a vinyl or composite? I really like it
Thanks! It’s a foam back vinyl. Look up Certainteed Cedarboards board and batten. There’s several different options to choose from.

What was the main reason or driver for footings and concrete slab, rather than traditional footings, joist, and crawlspace? Was it for insulation/efficiency? Or something to do with less than desirable soils and inadequate bearing pressures?
We live in an area with high humidity and with our property tending to be on the wetter side, we didn't want to mess with chances of mold & rotting. 😊

We found a plan online that was as close to what we were wanting, and had our builder make a few tweaks! We just Googled "house plans" and searched for a while ☺

They are by Coretec, the color is Cairo Oak. They are an LVP floor, and we love them!

Is the plan we used as our starting point!
What is the best place for construction loans?
It really depends on your area. We found a local mortgage broker who was able to help us.
2 years...why so long?
It took about 4 months from the time we closed on the land to get someone out to clear the lot. Then another 4-5 to get the lot cleared and prepared due to an extremely wet season. Being near the coast the ground can be tough to work with. Once the ground was ready the build took about a year.
