Well, after watching this I tried it myself. Used light green dip powder and a greenish blue glitter. Came out somewhat okay. I think the green was too dark. Kinda covered the glitter, but def will try again. Thanks for video.

I'm playing catch up. I tried to quit smoking using the regular vape, but it wasn't delivering enough nicotine nor was it enough like a cig. Then I found out they came out with vape liquids called Nic Salts. Smaller vape to carry around and it delivers more nicotine plus is a throat drag, like smoking a cig. I am happy to report I'm cig free for 8 months now. I highly recommend this. Any vape shop can help anyone trying to quit figure out which is best for them. Can you do this with builder gel or is it too heavy? I struggle with BG anyway, so thick, but I want to use basically as my color (in general).
In theory, yes! It’ll depend on the color

Hi Marla. One question: I tried Dip Gel for the first time. I applied 3 coats of Dip gel color, then the hardener, then the top gel. I usually do lots of cleaning chores on a daily basis, and my nails began starting to fall. I’m I missing the transparent dip in order to prevent this? I find that dip gel is not water friendly. Let me know what I can do. Thanks love your videos

Hi Marla we can use our base gel on dips as well or is there a special gel just for that. And about the lamp i have a up led lamp does a led work the same?
You can use any gel base! Yep, same lamp but I like to double the cure time to ensure the light has time to pass through the dip - especially if they’re super opaque or dark 💕

It’s a precision cuticle tool aka water marble tool!
What peel off base do you recommend?
My favorite is UNT. I have it linked in my amazon store under either dip liquids or tools. ❤️

im a new watcher and I'm wondering what you mean by peelies? Do you actualy peel them off when you want to remove them?or is it still soak off? or do you just do it a certain way to quickly remove them because you do them often for videos? I'm trying to learn your technique
Hey sweets! So because I do my nails so frequently, I use a peel off base coat under my manis. They pop right off! But peel base isn’t meant for long wear. I usually get a couple days out of a mani.
@@MarlaKris ohhh I see! I like watching your videos because you do the short nails. Normally I do have extensions on but not right now. I put builder gel on and then base gel and then gel polish. I was pretty happy with them but I did still get lift up which then makes me pick at them. So next time I will use your idea to put the primer on anyway. And next time maybe I will give dips another try. I have the brand from Sally’s and I was not impressed.

Longevity completely depends on your prep and the state of your natural nails. They can last up to 3 weeks!

Hi Marla! Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday. Can I ask you something about filing/shaping? Not sure how but I seem to be taking away too much product from the edge of my nails when I shape/file and then have micro breaks. How do you keep your free edge both secure with the acrylic and not bulky? I use a 150 grit for shaping (I hand file, my e-file died on me) and then a buffing block to smooth everything out.
Hey sweets! That’s a great question. How many dips are you doing? Also, the r pressure you apply when filing makes a huge difference. If you’re a little heavy handed when filing, try a 180 grit file instead!
@@MarlaKrisI do 3-4 dips in total. A clear base on the bottom half of my nails for side length strength, 1 or 2 full dips of my color (depending on color opacity) and one more clear. Is that too many dips? I have an 180 grit, will try it next time! I follow your filing routine but maybe I am too heavy handed?
@@VillyT is there a reason you’re doing so many dips? Maybe instead of the half nail dip, try a thin stripe down the center of the nail from halfway down. That may decrease bulk a little and cut down on the amount of filing you need done ❤️
@@MarlaKris I used to do the 2,5 dips only but then most videos I see instruct on clear cupping so I added that. OK, I'll try the stripe instead of the half dip as well
