This video shows the actuator as it comes out of the box with the cable coming directly out of the end of the cylinder. In my case, the cable is now broken with a short 1.5 inch length of cable extending from the firewall bracket. There is no cable extending from the back of the actuator cylinder, so I assume the cable broke at the point where the cable enters the end of the actuator cylinder. I recommend owners of this system check that length of cable between the firewall and the actuator cylinder to make sure it is not broken or frayed. I discovered this broken cable when troubleshooting my red LED indicator light not turning off.
Cable breakage can only occur if there is an improper angle or if the cable is overtightened in the anchor. Review this step carefully after the cylinder is mounted to ensure proper installation. Also make sure there is a minimum 3-1/2” - 4” between the end of the cylinder and the anchor when brake pedal is released.
What about theory? There wasn't a diagram or animation to show how it actually works. How does the coach brake air pressure work to create a vacuum in the toad's brake diaphragm? Is there a vacuum pump in the box to do that?
Yes this is a new reed switch the instruction and wiring diagram cam be found in the current installation manual on our web site. cdn.demco-products.com/documents/Manuals/TB20050.pdf

Tom, There is a venturi built in the system to create vacuum
My read switch only has two wires, is this a new style read switch and if so how is it wired? Thanks
