Hello Dave. Thanks for the video. I have been seeing more and more ads for Carpuride than Chigee and I’m tempted to buy one but I hate installation of any electrical equipment that’s not OEM. BMW will get to this in the 2nd iteration of the R1300 GS/A at that point I may consider buying one of those bikes. Until then I will make do with my current set up. Great review Dave. Based on cost its Carpuride for me as i already have plenty of info on the TFT (last of the 1200's). I used a ram mount as then I can swap between the GS and RT, or quick remove when parked up, and leaving the NAV6 in situ (not that I can see it anymore😜). Cheers Arthur.

The way technology is progressing Chigee will be giving out the lottery numbers soon😂 Nice review Dave, the Chigee gets my vote but a detachable screen is definitely a must. Be well and safe riding, Trev.
A very informative video. Certainly you get what you pay for like with most things. I would save up my pennies and go for the chigee but will probably wait for the straight BMW cradle mounted version in the hope that it is detachable however that would probably mean that you lose the sentry option. Anyway many thanks for doing the review, without knowing what's out there and having someone kind enough to give up their personal time to review them we would have to rely on what the manufacturers tell us and that way lies madness😂
Good review Dave. I agree that the hot swap option for the Chigee will be a game changer. I'm still a. bit old school and don't do music or phone calls while riding. A good GPS system is all I need. Perhaps that can be one of your next reviews? Nav 6 is rubbish so looking at the Garmin Zumo XT.....
Hi Dave. Great comparison vlog. I have the 5 inch Carpuride with an add on 3d printed item that allows on and off connection to the BMW interface. I am awaiting delivery on the Chiggee Play 5 inch. clearly both companies have sent out freebies-for-reviews to hundreds of YTer's. It's a different story when you have to hand over your own hard-earned dollars (or are retired like myself). I just installed a Chinese no-name (probably made in the same factory as these systems) for 101 Euro's delivered....... 5 inch, front/rear camera, TPMS, Apple and Android etc etc ...... took around an hour to install and quality and performance so far is ideal. At that price certainly worth a gamble.
Good to see a direct comparison. With regards to Mounting solutions I'm working on an adaptor so that I can mount various systems on GS and port the device to an other bike. The GS is quite cramped above the instruments. TTFN!
Obviously, the time/effort to connect the Chiggee has been greatly improved (at least for those of us with Sat Nav Prep on our BMWs) with the company's release of the AIO-5 Play For BMW. It just snaps into the Nav cradle on the bike, and also allows the Chigee to be controlled by the bike's "wonder wheel". I've pre-ordered that unit, and it is due to begin shipping at the end of July, 2024.
While having a BMW R1250RS with the bells and whistles, I enjoy my RE's for their simplicity. Even my 310 GS for it's road presence while still a small displacement moto is fulfilling to me. Tech sometimes ruins the ride. My age is starting to show as "my" needs are simply to get to the next day. LOL. 👍👍

So riders 'could' be prosectued for using fixed mount touch screens IF the police deem it to be unsafe. On a motorbike where it's easy to be seen... this rings a few alarm bells. Just a thought.
Great comparison. I would just add one thing about the Carpuride 7'': The big screen is great but it often covers the motocycle instrument pannel. This is specially true on the BMWs as you know, no matter if it is the analog or digital one. It's just one more reason to go for the 5'' version

I’ve seen the Carpuride in action, and while it is removable, it’s not as straightforward as my old Garmin Zumo, requiring undoing a wingnut/ball joint thing and disconnecting a cable. Thirdly, since it's reliant on a phone connection for the GPS- you then need to worry about both phone battery. Additionally, the 7-inch size would likely be too large for my bike. If it's using Google Maps (or another provider) you would need to download the maps to your phone, otherwise if you lose signal you would lose your maps.
Hi John, Yes indeed you have outlined the three negatives about these systems and that’s where any of these companies who make these systems need to be looking next.
