    The new Chigee AIO 5 Play for BMW now blows the Carpuride away as it also slots into the SatNav mount, and has wheel control. Much better fit and also doesn’t need an app. I’ve been testing it for a few weeks - far superior.

    Hello Dave. Thanks for the video. I have been seeing more and more ads for Carpuride than Chigee and I’m tempted to buy one but I hate installation of any electrical equipment that’s not OEM. Especially if I have to do it myself. I want the forward and rear facing cameras to record every time I ride and a few other bits. BMW will get to this in the 2nd iteration of the R1300 GS/A at that point I may consider buying one of those bikes. Until then I will make do with my current set up. What would be great is if BMW gave you the option to plug and play 3rd party options but that might be asking for too much. Anyway thanks again for the video and keep up the good work. I just installed a Chinese no-name (probably made in the same factory as these systems) for 101 Euro's delivered....... 5 inch, front/rear camera, TPMS, Apple and Android etc etc ...... took around an hour to install and quality and performance so far is ideal. Obviously, the time/effort to connect the Chiggee has been greatly improved (at least for those of us with Sat Nav Prep on our BMWs) with the company's release of the AIO-5 Play For BMW. It just snaps into the Nav cradle on the bike, and also allows the Chigee to be controlled by the bike's "wonder wheel". The video was excellent. However, I have three concerns about these devices. Firstly, since I don’t own a BMW, I’d need to wire it in permanently. Secondly, I’d be worried about theft. I’ve seen the Carpuride in action, and while it is removable, it’s not as straightforward as my old Garmin Zumo, requiring undoing a wingnut/ball joint thing and disconnecting a cable. Thirdly, since it's reliant on a phone connection for the GPS- you then need to worry about both phone battery.
    Additionally, the 7-inch size would likely be too large for my bike.
    If it's using Google Maps (or another provider) you would need to download the maps to your phone, otherwise if you lose signal you would lose your maps.

      @WheelieGoodTV  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi John,
      Yes indeed you have outlined the three negatives about these systems and that’s where any of these companies who make these systems need to be looking next. The big one for me is to make it easily removable from any bike on a cradle system. Whilst this is all fairly new tech and I understand these companies have put all their R&D into the actual device I think next they need to put more research into the usability exactly as you’ve outlined. Hopefully the manufacturers will read this….👌🙏

    I have the 802 on my 21 r1250gs. Unfortunately, the brightness at night makes it almost unusable because even at the minimum setting, it is still way too bright! I mentioned it in every single place I can just to see if the carpuride guys wake up because, like you said, it is most likely a simple software update. There is also the problem that you have to go tru menus while riding just to access the brightness display, no good, while riding the motorcycle! The nav 6 may be awful, but have it dialed perfectly with the auto brightness!. I do find the screen somewhat unresponsive, too, where sometimes I have to select something 3 times to get it to work.
