Btw just wanna say that you should check out undertoad mario fight its pretty hard Especially on the end i beat it but it was so hard phase 3 made me litreally starts smashing my keyboard and ONLY 1 key broke btw one of mario 's attacks were a kaizoo mario level

1. It's Shobon, not Sy-uh-bon. The y is a consonant there.
2. It's completely different from the original Cat Mario as far as I remember from DGR's videos. I mean, the trolls are very much like the original, including the flagpole laser.
3. 7:03: Pretty sure that cat kills you in the original.
4. 7:44: You may have dodged a troll, in the original there's a mushroom in one of the blocks, and spiky guy gets big if it eats it. Also, 8:58: I think getting the orb makes more flame balls appear from the pipe. 14:06: Pretty sure that would kill you in the original.

It's just a matter of reflecting the pronunciation (sh) or the spelling (し was originally "si", and small よ turns "i" into "yo", as in びょ "byo" - which is not bi-o, btw). In any case, the Y there is a consonant, not a vowel.
Heyo I am the creator of that mappack! (My old nickname was FuriousHedgie or Furious hedgehog back then), it's funny how after those years that I created that mappack is still somewhat played today, of course I didn't updated it in a long time since it was made specifically for an older version of Alesan Entities but is still good that you guys are enjoying it's thank you so much for playing it!

Can't remember exactly when but definitely I did it and posted it on Stabyourself.net forums when I was at my peak creating mari0 stuff, nowadays I only focus to digital art and I'm not familiarized to actual mari0 now

Also, the "marshmallow guy", as you called it. I believe in the original version, the second one killed you if you grabbed the flagpole instead of jumping over it. But since getting the flagpole in actual Mario games grants you invincibility on your way to the castle, in the event you would take damage afterwards, they couldn't replicate it.
This is nuts. Those trolls are evil but well put together, i guess some troll levels can be fun if they are placed well and not just spammed. Thank you for the smiles.. just love your videos.

After the first 2 times of you falling into the pit on 1-2, I was like "oh he learned his lesson he'll maybe forget after a couple mess ups", nah every time after made me laugh a little harder
Aw, it's a shame it broke at the start of 1-4. So, looks like it got a lot of details right, as accurately as it could in Mari0's engine, and I understand that there are simply things about Syobon Action that Mari0 just can't mimic properly. I'm glad the P-switch in 1-3 did properly turn all of the terrain into coins, as that was one of my favorite gimmicks. Who knows why the P-switch (and many other things) had garbled graphics, though.

Missing a few mechanics, but it's a nice recreation of the original. Also, I do remember there was an intentional crash somewhere in the original game, but I thought it was in one of the info boxes and not the castle. I could be wrong, since it's been a while since I last played. (And also been repressing the memories of the torture I had to endure)

If you ask me, while a good number of trolls hold true to the original, several of the hardest ones aren’t here or are much easier, and the controls on the original make it a lot harder too.
I think it’d be a much better experience to try and play the original if at all possible.
P.S. When I say “a much better experience”, what I really mean is “a trip through hell”.

Reason there's poison mushrooms in several places is to symbolize the Super Mushroom you get in it, that makes you buff, but then the added muscle weight is too heavy, so you break through the floor. Nice they got the clouds that kill you, from Cat Mario.

The original Cat Mario and CM 2 is really long if you want to to torture yourself. You are more skilled at solving the puzzles than most.

I made a rage meter a couple years back that burnt down in a mega Man Maker episode... I think if I were to play this... I would have to make a V2 of the rage meter lol.

There's quite a big similarity to the original (Sadly I don't think you can play it anymore because flash is dead)
but there's also a lot of differences to the original
1-1
The top [?] block was actually supposed to be one of the enemies (Smiley faces)
The Fish/Boat thing was supposed to launch into the top of the map while in this version he only does a single hop
the that you went down was supposed to fly up and die (in space probably) but since it's nearly impossible to code that they just put you into a pit
the secret block at 1:50 was supposed to summon endless enemies that all go to the same direction (the pit) making it impossible for you to get past
all the blocks were supposed to fall at the same exact time (2:00) Also the [?] block was supposed to give you a regular red mushroom (spoiler it doesn't do anything)
the poison shroom was supposed to be the star....that kills you if you touch it
the enemies at the end of the level were only supposed to fall once (weird how they didn't remove the trigger after the enemies fell) (3:05)
(3:15) also most sprites are a little glitched Not sure why though
in the ending you were supposed to die by the fish but it just didn't appear (you had to jump over the flagpole but mari0 put a invisible wall that prevents you from doing it also if you jump over the flag pole and go too far you were unable to touch the flagpole meaning you would've had to go in the pit (at the very edge of the map))
1-2
in the original game when you hit the message block the game was supposed to crash meaning you would've had to restart 1-1 ALL OVER AGAIN
(luckily that didn't happen otherwise the episode would've been done by now)
the piranha plants are a replacement (death barrier) for when you go in the bottom pipe (while in the original game you just fly out of the screen and die)
there was supposed to be a checkpoint when you went into the underground level (sadly no checkpoint anywhere in this map though) also the 2 block from the left were not supposed to disappear there was only supposed to be 2 blocks to disappear
idk if that was the red mushroom or a poison mushroom but if it was the red one then you would've had a hilarious result (cat Mario will become so BUFF that he literally breaks through the floor and dies) also the other poison shroom was supposed to be a enemy but they didn't code that in
the fussy was another glitched texture (or they probably didn't bother adding it in) but the pillar was supposed to be full of spikes (or only the top block was supposed to be full of spikes)
the spiny and the uhh Freddy cat...thing were supposed to have an unique animation where they would jump out of the pipe/hole (Kinda like the fish) and kill you (also the Freddy cat was supposed to kill you too but idk why it didn't)
all of the blocks in the room were supposed to fall in a sequential order (right,left,JUMP) but it either glitched or they didn't feel like putting it in
you were supposed to give the red mushroom to the spiny to grow bigger and fall out of the map making you able to parkour in the next room (Kinda) however they added another space for you to JUST fit in
the (?) orb was supposed to make the pipe throw _A lot of lava_ but i guess they couldn't add that in
the second/first platform was supposed to fall faster killing you almost immediately
the fake flagpole is obviously glitched (also you were able to jump on top of it for a little jump but the bottom kills you)
1-3
The Poison shroom was supposed to be a fire flower....that kills you if you touch it
also the poison shrooms were the right texture but they glitched...just like the cloud
the orb was supposed to trigger the chaos but the collider was a little too bit (Or maybe because you'd instantly die the moment you touch it since there is no animation for then the thing falls
also the poison shrooms were actually supposed to be stars....tHaT kIls yOu iF yOu tOuCh iT
also idk if the block was supposed to move up maybe it was a glitch
the green platform was supposed to push you into the void (Not yeet you) and the singular block near that platform was a trap full of spikes
the p-switch is clearly glitched but it's mechanic worked at least
the message block was once again supposed to crash the game but...it didn't (again if it did the episode would most likely end here)
the marshmallow man was supposed to grab you and throw you to a pit, or somewhere else (which also explains why he's here at the end)
also funny enough he was supposed to also throw the flag pole making it impossible for you to win (but again mari0 wouldn't work like that)
1-4 (this will be quick)
The thwomp has a glitched sprite but still has the same mechanic
aaand it *crashed* sadly
that was all of the differences to the original i hope this helps my fingers definitely need to rest

It's kind of different well the Sleepy ghosts exposed to go up but it went down for some reason and think of those are kinda different than the actual cat Mario's Let's see if the troopers are different

If I had Mario Multiverse, I would try to remake this game. By the way, the crash was actually forced by the game itself, which in the original the game would purposefully crash when you hit a message block
So they made a Mario game that's based off the parody game that's based off the real game. Nice 😆

Trust me. You're playing the easy-mode version. There are so many evil stuff that wasn't implemented in this version, things that make your sanity go away.
In any case, can't say that the error you suffered wasn't an intentional troll by the developers, though.
