I absolutely love how this was handled. Call it lazy to use the original credits to start if you want, but I think it's a great way to pay respect to the original game. And the transition with "Geno" turning everything HD is just... chef's kiss.
Server’s kiss*. You have no idea what they go through in a shift dealing with customers that we call “people” who their entitlement. There’s a big reason why we tip servers around 100-400 dollars a shift depending where they work since they have to be on the frontlines for the restaurant. Sure the Chef and kitchen staff have to work an 8 hour shift possibly with no breaks and just making hourly/minimum wage, but we talk to the customers we call “people” so you don’t have too. You’re welcome and please excuse us if we throw dishes at the dish bitch in the dishwasher section, we just had to deal with an angry customer so he and the other kitchen staff didn’t have too so forgive our anger. Most likely only got a 10% tip when the expected amount is anywhere from 20-30% of the bill. If you don’t have money to tip the servers, then you have no right to eat out. We come to work to make money, not just to serve you like our job title states we are. It’s just that, a title so get your smug head out of your tight ass that’s obviously restricting blood flow to your dumb ass brain. *MIKEGROWFONE DRAWRP*

I feel like enough people aren’t talking about the way Mallow is carrying Geno with him everywhere he goes. It’s a beautiful testament to the fact they really are inseparable as properties of this Nintendo x Square Enix title and will continue to be as the Mario crew moves on to their next games.
I get how some are a little disappointed that the entire credits weren't redone in the new style but I absolutely loved what they did here. Having it look the classic way until Geno shows up to light up the parade where it then transitions into the new look? It felt like a perfect way to pay tribute to the original game and welcome in the new. And I think the added cutscene at the end where Mallow (with the Geno doll) and Bowser show up to watch the fireworks with Peach and Mario, having your whole party there together, more than makes up for missing out on a tiny HD Luigi.
I was sobbing just before the credits and as much as I love Luigi I thought having him in pixelated form was super funny. So it took me out of it for a bit, until the very end when Mallow, Bowser, and the Geno doll watched the fireworks, and then it was waterworks all over again. What a beautiful experience to have this remake. I absolutely loved it because it was made with love
They should’ve done something similar to the credits as they did with the Culex fight: the first time you see it, it’s the classic 16-but original, but completing the game a second time, it’s a full 3D modern recreation.
Well DEFINITELY a better way to end the year than the trip of the last year (Bayonetta 3. The game as whole is fantastic, but the ending is one of the worst things I've ever seen in a videogame, and it soured an otherwise great year for Nintendo for me...)
The mix between the original and remastered credits was a great addition to the game! I just wish they did the transition from old to new a little sooner because the credits were just about over by the time it happened. They could've at least did it around when Booster to the Clown Car, and Bowser chased after him.
A great way to throw in some of the barely-altered SNES charm, then take an established transition point and throw in a little surprise with the Switch graphics. It helps hammer in how beautiful the original game is, respects the original staff, and ends on an even higher note. Really, there is extremely little more to ask - well, other than more games like it.
When i finished Super Mario RPG, the first time i had since i beat the original in i wanna say 2012, it brought tears in my eyes to see the message at the beginning.

I'm fine with having the actual credits sequence only play the remix for the second half but I wish they would've remade the whole song to be listened to in the sound player
Do you wish Nintendo will make Main Street Electrical Parade like Disney(There'll be Mario franchise, Legend of Zelda, Splatoon,Pikmin, or possibly the second-party franchise like pokemon and kirby)?
Technically, there is the No Limit Parade happening at Universal Studios Japan between July and September 2024 that features Mario and Pokémon characters, including the first ever Princess Daisy costume display (according to the website), so I think that’s the closest we’ll get to that for now.
Imagine if the reason they did not make a Luigi 3d model is because they are saving him for DLC with his own party members If that happens I wish we get toad with a rocket launcher
somebody tried to convince me that the end credits song was alright by kendrick lamar and j genuinely fucking believed them until i looked it up just now
While I appreciate the idea of showing off the original credits, it feels really lazy at the same time. If they perhaps had an option to watch the original credits and to watch updated credits, then it would be great.
Imagine crying about the developers paying tribute to the original and then transitioning into the modern look 😂 I swear some of you Nintendo fans will cry, bitch, and moan over the most ridiculous things. Quite sad 🥱

Right there with u crying manly tears. Was not expecting that bonus cutscene
Man, Luigi’s only appearance and they couldn’t even be bothered to make him 3D 😢
I feel your pain.
It’s okay luigi
They did my green boy dirty 😢
When haven't they do him dirty Luigi is Mario's side bitch brother

Shigeru Miyamoto credited as the remake version’s co-supervisor!😊
TBH I also wasn't expecting Tetsuya "Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts" Nomura to be listed in the credits.
Nintendo had an AMAZING year this year, and this is a wonderful way to end it.

@@grayfox4819 for Bayonetta 3 one isn't end of the story. It just the beginning. I guess because the creator get to minimize the sexuality a little.
borderline believe Luigi's presence single-handedly stopped them from making half the credits 3D.
The greatest Mario game final credits sequence ever. Creators of Disneys Main Street Electrical Parade would be proud!
I hope there's Main Street Electrical Parade but Nintendo version
since you mentioned Disney, perhaps this is how the Kingdom Hearts series as a whole should wrap up once the Lost Master saga is complete.

at 16-bit cost
I love how when Bowser barges in like that, you can see Mario in the background doing the “what the hell was all that about” motion lol

Whats funny here is bowser is the only character here to have a voice
Yoshi too, pretty much it
After playing this, I have so much hope we will get a sequel to this someday. The engine and models are now there!
These credits are perfect. Really well done!
Note : This game is the first time bowser helps Mario and his friends
A remake that became truly legendary
Hoping to finally Super Mario RPG 2 be a reality and can continue this amazing history
May the wish comes true🙏
4:22 Bass trombones really need to be featured in future Mario games that have saucy licks like this.
one can easily tell Yoko Shimomura put her Kingdom Hearts experience to work in remastering the soundtrack.
Looking at the original ending in the first part gives me nostalgia😢
i like how smithy and pals are just inexplicably in the parade

Man, I had never seen an ending that actually make my eyes burst into tears, just like the original game.
A credit sequence so good they couldnt remake it all to do it justice 😭 No shade to the remake team. The original staff was just on another level
