- La Digue is the smallest of the three main islands of the Seychelles and has a lot of beautiful beaches. It is about 3 times 4 kilometers in size. There are almost no cars and everyone takes the bike to get around. On the island there are many small accommodations which suit every budget. A bike rental is about 10 euros per day and is totally worth it because it's the simplest way to visit all the beaches.
The most famous beach and picturesque is Anse Source d'Argent on the south western side of the island. Perfect for swimming and relaxing are the Grand Anse and Petite Anse Beach on the south eastern side. And Anse Patates is a small but very beautiful beach on the northern side of the island. Basically there is a beach all around the island - so everybody will find a favorite. :-)
Snorkeling is great at the island although if you have the time a half day boat trip to Grande Soeur and Felicite is probably the best you can do there.
On La Digue itself lives the Giant tortoise which can be seen all over the island an in particular at the Union Estate park.

La Digue ist die kleinste der drei Hauptinseln der Seychellen und hat viele schöne Strände. Es ist etwa 3 mal 4 Kilometer groß. Es gibt fast keine Autos und alle nehmen das Fahrrad, um sich fortzubewegen. Auf der Insel gibt es viele kleine Unterkünfte für jedes Budget. Ein Fahrradverleih kostet etwa 10 Euro pro Tag und lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, da es die einfachste Art ist, alle Strände zu besuchen.
Der berühmteste und malerischste Strand ist Anse Source d'Argent auf der Südwestseite der Insel. Perfekt zum Schwimmen und Entspannen sind der Grand Anse und der Petite Anse Beach auf der südöstlichen Seite. Und Anse Patates ist ein kleiner, aber sehr schöner Strand auf der Nordseite der Insel. Im Grunde gibt es überall auf der Insel einen Strand - so findet jeder seinen Favoriten. :-)
Schnorcheln ist großartig auf der Insel, noch besser ist ein halbtägiger Bootsausflug nach Grande Soeur und Felicite. Auf La Digue selbst lebt die Riesenschildkröte, die auf der ganzen Insel und insbesondere im Union Estate Park zu sehen ist.

Danke - freut uns, dass es dir gefällt. Die Aufnahmen stammen von einer Mavic Air2, mittlerweile haben wir auf eine MiniPro3 gewechselt und bisher keine Unterschiede in der Qualität festgestellt. Einzig ist sie windanfälliger, aber die Vorteile überwiegen. :-)
really astonishing video! can u tell me please where are the reefs from the video? as it seems to be quite healthy, was it from the beach or only by boat trips? im really looking for the best snorkel places on la digue from the beach and when i saw the reefs on this video i couldnt believe i can really find something like this over there! thats also the reason why i want to combine maldives and seychells, but if the reef on la digue is as good as the maldives i dont need to go to maldives haha ;) i hope i can get an answer from u guys! thanks in advance and sorry for the long comment!
We have no comparison to the Maldives but snorkeling at the Seychelles was great. We did a snorkeling trip from La Digue by boat. In our video ‚Seychelles island hoping‘ we explain where exactly we went and some places to snorkel in Praslin as well. Anyway have a great trip.
When I went to la Digue 1973, tourism had not really taken hold yet. Chickens roamed the streets, coconut oil still being extracted by an oxen powered mill. No power after 10 o'clock. No fee to go to the beach. (now costs SCR115 entrance fee for anse scource d'argent) Most beaches were lonely places where we were often alone. When we first went to grand anse beach, there was a turtle crawling onto the sand to lay eggs. At that time, locals still lurked in waiting to catch the unfortunate turtle for lunch. This was illegal even then. La Digue has now become a bit too commercial for my liking. I will never return to la Digue. Check Indonesia, Raja Ampat or Ora beach resort, Seram island.

@@lostintravel_at I was even offered a plot of land on la Digue in 1973. (for 6000 pounds sterling) The plot was not directly on the beach, however, but on the other side of the main "road", which was just a dirt track then. So declined the offer. I do not wish to know what the value might be now!. I had taken a number of bicycle inner tubes to la Digue for Herr Urban, who was in the process of building the A frame huts at that time with the help of workers from Malaysia. I believe those huts were later Gregoire's. Take care!.
