there is also an oldschool looking 52'' brown and brass hugger at my local ace hardware. I havent been able to bring myself to spending over $140 for it

11:21 That high pitched whine is common on many fans. Usually not an issue
I was referring to the deeper humming/grunting sound, but this fan also does make allot of that motor wine

pretty much. although I wouldn't call it giant ,it's just a yard quarter. I cant remember how many acres it is
