Very nice build! I'm considering building this for my recently bought secondhand Bullitt. In order to save weight, I'm playing with the idea to cut out the floor and just have 10cm floor on each side. The honeycomb board would then be the floor. This might save some kilo's I think. The stability will be maybe a bit less..but betonplex is quite heavy. Ik kan In Nederlands typen, maar even voor het bredere publiek! :)

Hi Erik, it’s important to leave some room so that the frame won’t get damaged by the box. The betonplex is not available in DIY stores, I bought it online.

Can pick it up close to me :) I was thinking off putting some rubber strips (innertube) between the box and the frame to protect the frame. Did you have any problems with the wood splitting while putting in the screws? Feels like 9mm is so thin...
@@SnelfNL innertube is perfect for that. Use it all the time for protecting the frame when camping fhings to the frame of my bike. As for the splitting, you could use a drill slightly smaller than the screws to pre drill the holes for the screws.

That is one of the nicest boxes we have come across. Ours is not as wide. That little bit of width really makes a difference.

I haven't tried a Canopy. My kids are already a bit older. But I think its pretty easy to add some seat belts and a small bench made of plywood.
