Just retired and now have the time for hobbies such as soap making. Watched many tutorials. I decided to follow your technique and it did not disappoint. I’m so energized with the success of my foster batch that I’m dreaming of making many more batches and exploring with different essential oils and fragrances.
Years later I am SO GLAD I FOUND THISSSSS ! Every liquid recipe was using grated bar soap or liquid Castile soap from the store 😵💫 bless youuuu ! 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Hi! :) To reduce the fumes from the lye you can try freezing your water beforehand. What I typically do is pre-measure my water, put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and wait for an ice block to form. You can also do it overnight. Then I measure my lye and place the lye flakes on top of the block. The reaction is exothermal so it will melt the ice and then I end up with a solution that is just warm but not hot. This way you are not so exposed to the fumes and you can start making your soap immediately without waiting for the lye to cool. It also eliminates the risk that it will overboil and mess up your kitchen. I also regularly make soap with beer and milk by this method - it allows you to use more sensitive ingredients without worrying about burning them. I really like your channel and the way you present your work. Your home is clean and you work in a clean and organized way - it is so satisfying to see. Overall super pleasant and relaxing to watch after a long day of work! I hope you keep making these videos and that I could help you in some way. Greetings from Bulgaria! :)
Thank you so much, and great tip that you've shared there! I do use cold/ice water sometimes, but wanted to keep it very straightforward for this video. Thank you though. Glad you're enjoying my channel :)
You typically want the lye water and the temperature of the oils to be about the same. Isis usually added not because of the fumes but to keep the temperature from going over 300 degrees which can sometimes happen and that can melt containers depending what you mix it in
Hi Elly, I am a 23 year old currently residing in Spain and thanks to your videos I have started my own soap making adventure. It has been so much fun already and your videos are greatly educacional! Your explanations are clear, yet thorough. Thank you for your contribution, you are a wonderful teacher!
There should be "love" button option. You are so precise and such a pleasure to learn from. Your videos are the absolute best that I have watched. I have learned so much from your tutorials. For the past few years I have been dealing with anxiety. Your voice is very calming, and has actually helped me get through some difficult times. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise. It's so appreciated :)
Hello!! I have been making soap for seven years now, hot processed hard soap for house cleaning and bars of soap for shampooing. I always cook my soap I don't really like cold method. I have been looking for a reliable recipe for liquid soap and I think yours is not only the quickest but also really easy!! Thank you!! Greetings from Athens Greece!!
Hi! I’m a beginner in soap making. I’m trying to learn but it’s hard sometimes because of the contradictory information. The only type of soap i tried to make so far is a liquid hand soap with a cold process. I try to figure out if a preservative is really needed. Also, i’m wondering if it’s normal that my soap separated with the time. Finally, i’m really curious about why you prefer hot method. I hope you will see my message and thank you in advance for your answer. 😊
I just made it and am THRILLED at how fast and easy it was. Everything came out just like the video! I may try some clear recipes later on, but for a beginner, this one ROCKS!!!
My son requested liquid soap and I've been hesitant to even try it because all the books and recipes I've found seem so very complicated. I tried your recipe and method today and WOW! This was so much simpler and took less time than I had expected. I also discovered that I can be much more accurate in my measurements by using grams instead of 0.00 ounces. Thank you!!!
Hey Elly, love your posts on soap making. I've finally made this liquid soap and it worked a treat. Note to self, next time I will use a pot that's about 2.5 times the volume of the total volume of the ingredients. I was stick blending it for about 20 minutes and then at a certain point it started rising very quickly and then solidified suddenly and it was paste all the way down to the bottom of the pot. Fortunately the pot was large enough and only a trickle of froth went down the side of the pot. It's a fabulous soap and when diluted, it looks just like yours. Have tested it with the dishes and washing hands. I will "never" be buying commercial soap again (unless desperate - "never" is such a strong word). Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I have found them very helpful and it has accelerated my learning of this craft.
I don't have a crockpot. I was going to use my normal pots. It is good that you demonstrated making your liquid soap in what all of us have. That is a thoughtful and practical way of teaching. Thank you Elly.
Welp!?....I am sold! I now will be making my own soap. What wonderful videos! Somehow these are such peaceful videos. Thank you for your great instructions !!
I just made this recipe today! It's by far, the nicest liquid soap I have ever made. Thank you so much! It's clear and lovely and feels SO nice on the skin!
I made this beginner liquid soap today. My first time ever. I was a little intimidated but being a long time cp soapmaker gave me some confidence. It did volcano and come right to the top but I kept praying and stirring and it settled down. Wheww! I think my element was too hot. Thank you for your in depth instructions. So helpful!
Not sure if other people would he interested but I would love a video on which oils you like to use and why and which oils you dont! And maybe a list of your favorite essential oils and clays and why they are your favorites! Curious about oils for hard dish soap versus hand/body soap. Love your videos! Thanks for all the great informations and walkthroughs!
Thank you Eve, I've been thinking about that video idea for a while myself, because I get asked about it all the time. I hope to get to it one day. Truth is I'm a bit of a minimalist and most of my soaps have olive, coconut and castor oil - there are good reasons for using these though. Thanks, I'll get organised for that one when I can :)
@Lori Anderson she probably didn't see this question here. Redo in a new comment thread. In my opinion it could be done with almond oil, but you couldn't use this recipe . Coconut and almond oil may call for different amounts of lye, or potash. Run your new recipe through soapcal.net. for a start. This is definitely an advanced soap making lesson and I'm not sure how to account for the water ratio.
Haha yes! I was so excited when that happened! My favourite part of the video. It did the exact same thing the first time I made the recipe, but I wasn't there to see it or record it! Such a cool recipe. I love that it sets up and saponifies so quickly.
Thank you so much Elly. I tried your recipe today and it worked great. I'm new to soap making and really appreciate your instruction and recipes. You are a light in what otherwise would have been a dark tunnel. Great video.
Thanks for your tutorial, I made mine following your method using 100% coconut oil, it turned out perfect, before it was taking me a long time to make liquid soap.
I realize this video is an older one, but I sure do appreciate your articulate commentary on the process. Today I created my first ever Only KoH soap, and it volcanoed! It was a loss about half my soaps and a little panic. I did not follow your recipe, just used my ususual suspects, and it cooked *saponified so fast. I couldn't believe it, just turning up the heat a little created all that so fast, glad I'm like watching my process like someone never turns their back on the ocean. Never really know what waves are comin. Keep these videos coming tho, I like them!
That's really awesome! Thank you for the video. I've been making soap bars for 8 years and have been so afraid to make liquid soap. I absolutely love soap in general and keep tons of soap in the laundry room, by the sink and well...all over. I just made 4 new batches ❤ I am now inspired to try liquid soap making. Thanks again!
This is a great video Elly! Really interesting to see the difference between the two methods of soap making. Thank you for explaining everything so clearly. I’ve watched so many vids about liquid soap making(several times each) and thought: “What?”. Trying to do this from a printed recipe is like trying to knit fog 🙄. And it’s fab to learn something new.
Thanks so much Trisha, that's great feedback! I felt like there wasn't anything really clearly instructional out there for liquid soap making. This is a start anyway :)
Elly's Everyday you are a good communicator and that’s what makes the difference. I’ve noticed a common thread in your comment section that your viewers often say that they’re trying your recipes or they haven’t made soap but they’re giving it a go. It’s a rare talent giving people the confidence to try something new - I for one appreciate it 👍
Thank you again, you're very kind. I communicate for a living with my 'day job' and this channel - it's good to put the skills and talents to good use!
Sharon Andrews I wish that I could claim it as my own but it’s an old saying from here in Liverpool. It was a particular favourite of my nanna(grandmother).
Hi Elly. I have no idea why I have never watched your liquid soap tutorial before UNTIL NOW!! I thought I would never be interested in liquid soap. I am so glad I did watch because now I want to try this exact method you have used for myself. (especially now that I understand it can also be used for washing dishes in the sink). Four days ago I made your coffee soap recipe and it has turned out beautifully, thank you! 🐾🥰
This has been the easiest way to make liquid soap that I have come across. All the others made me just want to stick to cold process because it's easier. Now that I've seen this video I'm ready to give LS a try. Thank you so much for this video.
A couple questions. I'm interested in the little chips of paste, and think it would be a great way to give to people to create their own soap refills without having to buy more bottles. Could you use a brine for your original water so the paste already contains salt for thickening? Could you scent the whole batch so the paste already holds the scent?
I did this recipe today Elly. My first ever liquid soap! I blended and blended and thought it would never trace. And next minute…BAM….it thickened exactly like yours!!! I could not believe it. My PH strips had been damaged so I’m not 100% sure my PH was right but we will see. It’s currently dissolving in the crock pot. Can’t wait to make another. So exciting. Thank you so much Elly for sharing your knowledge. You explain everything so beautifully!! So good. I had your video playing along with me while I made the soap!! 😂 regards. Cassandra. 😊😊
Elly, I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to easily follow this recipe and FINALLY make some amazing liquid soap! Thank you so much. My previous efforts over the years have been just short of disastrous, lol! Now I can check this one off of my to-do list. I've been making soap for years but could never conquer the liquid soap process. I learned through watching your video where my earlier errors had been made. Anyway, thank you so, so much! 💖💖💖💖😉😉👍👍
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Demineralised water has had minerals removed so that you are left with H2O. The problem with demineralisation is that it will not remove bacteria or viruses like distilling would. Distillation is a very effective method and will remove 99.9% of contaminants.
Elly's Everyday do the oil properties differ when making liquid soap instead of soap bars? (For example coconut oil is very cleansing but drying, olive oil is gentle with low lather)
Dear Elly, thank you so much for this great video. I live all the way on the other side of the world (the Caribbean). I've been wanting to try my hand at making a liquid soap for quite some time and have been searching for a simple and easy to make recipe. Your video has inspired me to procrastinate no more and just do it! Thanks again.😊
Hello from the Netherlands, today I made your soap again and I am so happy with it, never want anything else anymore. Thanks a lot for the nice recipe.
Thank you so much Elly for this wonderful tutorial!! You did a wonderful job! You mentioned that this is a beginner recipe. Can you give a "non-beginner" recipe and share a bit about what makes a recipe more advanced? Thank you Thank you for helping me, and so many others!
This is a fantastic recipe - I've just used it to make my first ever liquid soap (in fact my first ever soap batch) and it really couldn't have been easier. Thank you for this, it's given me the inspiration to take it further. Cold process next :)
Hi Elly, thanks for this video. I really appreciate you making your technique and knowledge available. It has really helped me and I am definitely going to follow it. God bless!
Hi Elly! Just want to send a big thank you to your video. I tried your method, and even though my recipe was a little different (without castor oil), the soap behaved and turned out to be exactly like what's in your video. I even got the same results when testing the soap: the first test was a little cloudy but the second test, about 5 mins after the first, came out clear. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial!
Ellie's tutorials Rock! I have never come across anyone who explains everything to a T. I have made soap for 20 years' and faffed about with imperial measures. Then came accross Ellie's soapcalc instuctions Wow, I have fallen in love with maths after the way she explains it step by step. Love the liquid soap, Would a titch bit of mica colour be OK to add, have a beautiful day in that wonderful land luv n light x
wonderful, before a few days I asked myself: how much amount of water I should add for the liquid soap?!! and now I got the answer, Thanks for the important information, and thanks for the small details but make a huge difference. I make a bar of soap, but I didn't tried to make liquid soap, now I feel I'm ready to make it. stay safe, and wish you a nice time.
Hello, i tried the recipe, only half of your batch, substituting olive oil for cold pressed sunflower oil, and coconut oil with beef tallow, oh and distilled water with lavender flower water (in both phases), and only lavender oil. Had to dilute it for around 1:2, but it went very well, and quite fast. Love your videos! Thank you !
Having tried, unsuccesfully, many liquid soap recipes, this one is by far the absolute best! Followed everything to a t, and the end result id exactly what you promised! Many, many thanks ❤
I don’t like to give bad replies because I hate when people do that to me but do not use potassium hydroxide it can cause irritation and corrosion look it up but you can if u want to give it a try
Let’s do this!!!!!! Do you know how many liquid soap videos I clicked on and they are literally adding a few ingredients to Dr Bronners castille liquid soap. 😩
Yea, I'm like u know do u, but that's not really making your own handmade soap from scratch.. Great recipe.. I love the dual lye soap paste.. Its uses are infinite, but yeah i agree. They get like a million views, I as a Professional Soap Artisan Just dont get it. Your really not helping other's when u do that. Just my opinion because you teally don't know the science behind any of it, but like I said, it's their life.
Does anyone know who this @CryingBroken is.. I've seen this person on my Channel & It's weird. The 1st time. Their comment wasnt very noce, but I know can't please everyone, but then it got weird, like a bunch of letters that didnt make any sense.. No channel.. It's just strange.. If anyone knows lmk if they've been on any other soapy channels as well. Its probably just a child. I'm not sure..
Thankyou for ur recipes.. I made ur 100% coconut oil soap bar with 25% super fat.. it came out lovely.. I trust ur recipes now.. i have checked many liquid soap rexipes but i find ur recipe is easiest.. i will definitely gonna try this.. thanks
Thank you! A fantastic, easy recipe for first time liquid soap makers. Your explanation throughout was simple to follow, to the point, and not full of “fluff” and filler. You didn’t hold back on your little mistake, but showed how it effected the final product. Gosh, I could go on, singing the praises of this video! Instead, I recommend it to anyone wanting a tutorial on liquid soap making. From one saponifier to another, keep up the great work 👍 (ooops, it looks like I’ve commented using The Lad’s profile. Sorry. Ignore the name 🤦♀️)
OMG! Great tutorial and recipe thank you Elly. I’ve wanted to make liquid soap for a long time but had not found an easy tutorial. Most of the tutorials I found needed lots of time to make the paste. I’ve made the paste and the recipe worked as described in the video. We have rain water here so I was not sure if my soap would be clear but it is really clear.
Elly, awesome video. No craziness no frills just great informative guidance. How refreshing that is. I’m going to make some tomorrow with a fragrance that will make my grandchildren WANT TO WASH THEIR HANDS! Thank you again for your time and knowledge. Hello from Ohio, USA
Excellent video Elly! Looks wonderful! Thank you for all the time and effort that you put into your videos. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. Well done! 😊
Thanks, Elly. I watched this video for the first time and will look forward to watching more of videos you make. You are a great educator, with clear instructions and images. Great to know Aussies (I am an Aussie) are also now sharing soap making recipes. Until now, I have only been coming across soap making videos made elsewhere. No wonder I cannot find distilled water that I can purchase from anywhere. You advised that it is actually called demineralised water here so I will start looking for that when I go shopping. I am only new in the soap making hobby and have not yet dared try lye but hopefully I will be brave enough to try that method. All the best, Elly. :)
Hi Elly. Today I plucked up the courage to finally make the liquid soap. I had already watched your tutorial twice. So I played it today to work along with it. Everything was going fine until the end of mixing when the mixture thickens up. Instead of being smooth and gel-like, like yours, mine was dry and chunky. Hmmmnn! Odd I though. However, I wasn’t too worried as I prepared for the next step of watering it down. But first I had to clear some space as my work area was too cluttered. That’s when I noticed I had not read the label and used sodium hydroxide instead of potassium hydroxide. Well duh, I though typical of me, “I have made bar soap not liquid soap, I wonder if I can still make it into liquid soap.” So I measured out my water, set it on low heat to melt and went to write an email setting a timer so I wouldn’t forget it. It had boiled over by the time I checked, but wasn’t too bad. At that point I added more water, in total adding 2200 grams water to 1200 grams soap. Much to my surprise it melted nicely and is a beautiful amber colour the consistency of liquid honey. It made just short of 4 litres- about 15 cups. I would love to post a picture to show you the beautiful colour but You Tube doesn’t allow it. Should I send it on Messenger? I am rather proud of it. Oh, and the stainless steel pot I used was incredibly clean and shiny when I was done, almost like new.
Hi Ethel, wow! That's so great! I have never tried to make liquid soap with NaOH, but I know that some use a dual lye method with both NaOH and KOH. I thought it might be a bit slimey and (pardon the yuckiness) snotty if made with NaOH? Sounds like you stumbled across something really good there! Thanks for letting me know that, you've really got me thinking! Yes I love how clean the pots come out after soap making :)
Hi , thanks so much I did this recipe and it really is a lovely soap. My family loves it and I even gave some as a gift to my neighbour, she loves it also. All the best
Hi Elly! Thanks for your clear explanation. I can't wait to make liquid soap by myself. I became more confident to make it after watching your video. Best regards from Indonesia! :)
Hi from South Africa. I have a few questions, when you switched off your stove as the soap was cooked, you still had your pot on the stovetop. Will the heat from the stove not burn the soap or is your stove an induction cooktop? Will it be possible to make this soap on a gas hob? I just discovered your videos last week and I’ve watched most of them. Your videos are a wealth of information. Finally going to tackle liquid soap with this recipe. Thank you for all your thorough information. Really is a huge help.
Thanks Sharifa, I'm pleased my videos are helpful. My cooktop is induction, so it cools down quickly, but I think a small amount of residual heat from gas or electric cooker would be fine. Yes, you can definitely make this on a gas hob, but keep the flame down very low and watch the soap closely.
Made my first soap batch ever with your amazing assistance, & plan to use this as shampoo. I love a challenge, and look forward to trying your soap bar recipé next!!
I am in the USA and have been making cold processed soap for 23 years. I am now being forced to try my hand a liquid soap because I placed an order for 18 lbs of sodium hydroxide and when it was delivered I saw I had mistakenly ordered potassium hydroxide. It is not returnable, so my 2 choices are either go around town unclogging peoples' drains or try my hand at liquid soap. Yours is the best video I have watched. Thank you so much. Next week after my 2 craft shows this week-end, I will give it a try.
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm making hand crafted gifts for Christmas. I'm familiar with making cold processed soap, but hot processed liquid soap seemed so complicated. I'm going to make this as part of my gift baskets. Thanks!
Great video. Been looking forward to this being published. Do you have a recipe for 100% olive oil? And what did you spray on the clarity test to see if the liquid was clear? Thanks. Sarah.
Thanks Sarah, that was isopropyl alcohol in the spray bottle. I made 100% olive oil liquid soap and it came out nice and thick but it took me three hours to get it to saponify! Really horrible to work with for liquid soap - but you can try it if you want. You can use this video to learn how to calculate the recipe. Just use 20% lye concentration for the lye water, and change the lye to KOH. th-cam.com/video/AqKxin0q1bM/w-d-xo.html
This is my fav liquid soap tutorial! I have 2 questions: how important for the clarity is it that your finished paste be translucent-like vaseline? And... would you offer some guidelines for essential oils that will not cloud the finished liquid? Thank you...
Hi, thank you! The paste itself doesn't need to be very translucent, as long as it passes the pH and clarity test, and you use demineralised or distilled water, the finished soap will be clear. I don't have a handy record about the EO's I'm sorry, but if you google this question I'm sure you'll find some answers :)
Amazing. I have watched so many soap making videos. But you are the best. I make CP soaps, and haven't ventured to liquid soaps. This video gives me the courage to try. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this teaching video on liquid soap making. I've been waiting for this one. I have a question. Can you add kaolin clay, milk powders, silk, or other things to this kind of soap? You are such a good teacher. 💖
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback! Yes, you can add clays, silks etc to liquid soap, but I would steer very clear of any fresh botanical ingredients or purees due to issues with spoilage. Dry cosmetic ingredients should be fine.
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Would you add any clay etc in the second part..when diluting? Does it need to be heated up with it? Or do you put it in at the end? Thank you ever so much. Fantastic video. Most inspirational!
Hello Ellie, thank you so much for you video, I've been binging on them : ) I was just wondering, you said you use this liquid soap for your hands, dishes, etc. I was wondering how/if this would differ from how you would make a body wash or shampoo? Thanks again, your videos have given the push I needed to try my hand at soap making.
I followed your recipe... my clarity test came back crystal clear!! Im so happy haha! I was concerned when my batch volcano and I had no clue what do except turn my stove off. Stirred it and just put a towel on it. Geez haert heart palpitations and I thought, what the heck am I doing? A glass of wine later I checked my pot and it was Vaseline looking, so I tried your test! It worked!
Elly, I love this video and I've wanted to try making liquid soap for a while and I was excited to try your recipe and technique. However, when I entered your recipe into the soapcalc.net calculator, the cleansing value was only 7, which is low. I'm wondering if I entered something wrong, but I did it twice and it was the same both times. I'm confused.
Hi Amy, there's nothing wrong with a low cleansing value, it's still soap. That just means that it is low in harsh cleansing properties (ie, not too drying). The reason it's low is because of the high amount of olive oil in the recipe :)
Hi Elly, I have just recently discovered your videos and absolutely love them! I was just wondering, how long (approximately) would the soap be good for while in a paste and how long is it good for once it’s been diluted? Also, how would you know if your soap went bad?
Thank you Sash, I'm glad you're enjoying my videos! If the paste is stored in a cool place, I think it can be kept for quite a long time, and up to a couple of years in a fridge or freezer! Once diluted, I keep mine for up to a year, but I think they could even last longer. You'll know it goes bad if it changes appearance drastically, or smells off or like the oils are rancid. I've never had that happen with any of my liquid soap batches, they keep very well :)
If you wear a mask while making the lye solution, you should wear the mask as soon as you open the KOH-Container. A lye solution does not fume, but the KOH-flakes let of some fine dust. I would also advise to use a double boiler. It really helps to keep the suspension of fats and lye together and the soap doesn't get burned.
I'm so glad I found this video. I just began making soap and I'm considering trying liquid soap. I just didn't like the whole crockpot method seems to take all day. When I get the courage to try I will definitely try it this way.
I'm glad I watched this. I used to make liquid soap and it was always so cloudy. It turns out I didn't realize I needed distilled water. I am getting ready to make my shampoo and face wash for the first time in years. Wish me luck!
Thank you! I just made it and it came out perfect! My recipe turned to paste too fast and at first I thought I had ruined it. I just added more distilled water and kept cooking and testing. Now I have a great liquid soap for washing my face and my hair!
I have been making soap for my family and friends for years, I love your stuff. I enjoy experimenting and all the science behind it. So glad I found you!
Hi Elly, Thank you for being so kind to have shared this recipe freely. I have been longing for a " detailed liquid soap making" for a long time. Thank you so much for your amazing teaching skills too. You are very good at it👍👍👍💯% Please can I substitute Olive oil for Canola oil or soybean oil and achieve this good result ??? I will greatly appreciate your favorable response. Thank you Elly.
So made my first batch and thought it was toast - first it volcanoed - but somehow I instinctively knew what to do - then it was so lumpy and frothy that I thought oh well its just for the FAM no one will mind all the bubbles and the fog - once bottled it rested and became clear and fabulous - so have made a second batch !! the only issue I have is that the pump gets gluey at the spout and it has to be cleaned all the time - otherwise I love it and have shared it with so many friends and family - thanks so much Elly
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking thanks Elly -I followed yours to the letter so I do 1:1.5- should I add another .25 of distilled water 💧? or eliminate the salt concentrate ?

Can this be used for dish soap?
my girl you are a mess :)))))), the result you have is water :))) no soap
Because of the addition of water, does this liquid soap go bad after a month only because there is no preservatives added?

Seems so obvious in hindsight, but never even thought of it. Thank you, what a great tip! 💖
You typically want the lye water and the temperature of the oils to be about the same. Isis usually added not because of the fumes but to keep the temperature from going over 300 degrees which can sometimes happen and that can melt containers depending what you mix it in

Wonderful! Thank you, glad you liked it!
Δεσποινα, με την θερμη μεθοδο το χρησιμοποιεις αμεσως? Η το αφηνεις 4-6 βδομαδες να ωριμασει?
@@JanicePhillips What coconut oil did you use? The cooking coconut oil or the organic virgin coconut oil? Because I don't really know what to use
I have been doing all your soaps one by one and my family totally loves them.
Thank you so much for everything.
You're very welcome Marie, that's lovely to hear. Yes, a big enough pot is important! :)
I tried a double boiler, and this happened, but when my soap paste is all gone, I will be remaking this recipe with a BIIIG pot, over direct low heat.
I use this for everything, I love it.
Maybe that’s where I’ve gone wrong… *shops for bigger pots
Thanks for making it in the pot for people who don’t have a crockpot I will be trying this method soon
I don't have a crockpot. I was going to use my normal pots. It is good that you demonstrated making your liquid soap in what all of us have. That is a thoughtful and practical way of teaching. Thank you Elly.
Thank you, you're welcome. I had a few people ask me to use a regular pot. It's a great method anyone can do.
Welp!?....I am sold! I now will be making my own soap. What wonderful videos! Somehow these are such peaceful videos. Thank you for your great instructions !!
Thank you so much Karol - I really appreciate that! :)
I just made this soap..it came out perfect. AS always your soaps ROCK!!!!!!! Thank you Elly!
Ooh that's so cool! Yay!!
I just made this recipe today! It's by far, the nicest liquid soap I have ever made. Thank you so much! It's clear and lovely and feels SO nice on the skin!
That’s fantastic, I’m so happy you loved it!
So helpful!
Yikes! Glad you were there to stir it down Laurie. Well done.
Really you think you can remove such deep infor for free?😂😂😂
From what I'm understanding, it's up to you.
Soapcal.net link does not work. It says this domain is for sale.
Outstanding video. It was mind blowing when the soap seized up instantly when it finished cooking! I had to run the video back a couple of times.
Aww, thanks Loreen, that's great! So cool!
I just made 4 new batches ❤
I am now inspired to try liquid soap making. Thanks again!
Wonderful, that's great to hear Stefanie!
I absolutely had to laugh: as a knitter, I love your analogy, “...like trying to knit fog.” I’m going to use that one!
For a non English native like me, your speech is so clear to understand 🤗
Thank you! 😃
watched your video few times and finally today I make the soap…. It works!!!… 💐💐💐…. Thank you 😊…
This has been the easiest way to make liquid soap that I have come across. All the others made me just want to stick to cold process because it's easier. Now that I've seen this video I'm ready to give LS a try. Thank you so much for this video.
Thanks Margaret, you're welcome. My thoughts exactly!
A couple questions. I'm interested in the little chips of paste, and think it would be a great way to give to people to create their own soap refills without having to buy more bottles.
Could you use a brine for your original water so the paste already contains salt for thickening?
Could you scent the whole batch so the paste already holds the scent?
So glad to see this I like liquid soap. I used your olive oil cold processing recipe for my first soap and it came out great
Thank you Donna, that's great to hear. I'm glad you like this one too!
So excited I just found your channel Thanks for the great video! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
Just made this again... showed my son how to do it as he is the main user... love your product.. enjoy your coffee's!
Oh how wonderful, and thank you!!
😂 regards. Cassandra. 😊😊
That's so good! Yay!!! I'm honoured you used my recipe for your first attempt 😀
So wonderful to hear. Thanks for your feedback!
Thank you so much Elly for this video ! What a wonderful way to spend the weekend watching your soap making videos. Stay safe !
Beautiful! Thank you!
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Demineralised water has had minerals removed so that you are left with H2O. The problem with demineralisation is that it will not remove bacteria or viruses like distilling would. Distillation is a very effective method and will remove 99.9% of contaminants.
IGA sells distilled water
I see, thank you! I should have clarified before I started.
That's wonderful Leannah! Thank you, and have fun!
You are quite an excellent teacher. Very thorough. Obviously an expert.
Thank you
💯
Hello from the Netherlands, today I made your soap again and I am so happy with it, never want anything else anymore. Thanks a lot for the nice recipe.
Thank you so much els, that's wonderful! Lovely to hear from your part of the world :)
Thank you so much Elly for this wonderful tutorial!! You did a wonderful job! You mentioned that this is a beginner recipe. Can you give a "non-beginner" recipe and share a bit about what makes a recipe
more advanced? Thank you Thank you for helping me, and so many others!
This is a fantastic recipe - I've just used it to make my first ever liquid soap (in fact my first ever soap batch) and it really couldn't have been easier. Thank you for this, it's given me the inspiration to take it further. Cold process next :)
You're very welcome. Thanks Tony :)
Hi Elly, thanks for this video. I really appreciate you making your technique and knowledge available. It has really helped me and I am definitely going to follow it. God bless!
a few years ago I learned to make sourdough bread from you. now I'm learning how to make soap. I am grateful. thank you so much.
That's so wonderful, thanks for letting me know that.
That's fantastic Phan! I'm very happy for your results :)
Thanks so much.
Av been looking for this and it's coming at the right time.
I love the simplicity.
I give u thumb up 100 times
That's great to hear. Thank you, you're very welcome.
Thank you!! Yes some mica in liquid soap is wonderful :)
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking have you coloured soap in this way? I'm afraid the mica would simply fall to the bottom of the soap...
wonderful, before a few days I asked myself: how much amount of water I should add for the liquid soap?!! and now I got the answer, Thanks for the important information, and thanks for the small
details but make a huge difference.
I make a bar of soap, but I didn't tried to make liquid soap, now I feel I'm ready to make it.
stay safe, and wish you a nice time.
That's wonderful, thank you. And good luck!
You are so welcome!
How could anyone ever give your video a thumbs down, loved this and can’t wait to try it,!, thank you 😊
Oh, thank you! That's very kind :)
Well said...loved the video...but when I run through the soapcal it shows different lye measurement..what to do
I don’t like to give bad replies because I hate when people do that to me but do not use potassium hydroxide it can cause irritation and corrosion look it up but you can if u want to give it a try
@@nicolelockhart3738 So what do you suggest is used instead?
sometimes its about the You tube recommendations, if they dislike, they dont get it popping up in their feed, but I do agree its a great tutorial.
Thank you Elly, that's amazing. I watched video for liquid soap making and it takes for ever to thickness. You make it easy to make.
Thank you so much, you're very welcome! I'm pleased so many people are enjoying the video.
Let’s do this!!!!!! Do you know how many liquid soap videos I clicked on and they are literally adding a few ingredients to Dr Bronners castille liquid soap. 😩

I trust ur recipes now.. i have checked many liquid soap rexipes but i find ur recipe is easiest.. i will definitely gonna try this.. thanks
Thank you! Until now all I found as far as recipes for liquid soaps took literally days! So glad to find you!!
That's perfect Lia! I never thought to use rainwater. I might try that for my next batch.
Thank you! every time I looked up how to do liquid soap, all I got was people adding water to castile soap LOL
So wonderful, thanks for all your feedback and wonderful comments! Enjoy. That comment makes me want to make another batch for myself :)

OMGOODNESS Elly I just made this soap recipe and it’s awesome!! It was sooooo fast! You weren’t kidding WOW! Thank you so much for sharing ♥️
OMG! This is the best video that I’ve come across regarding liquid soap. Perfectly explained and pretty simple recipe. Thank you sooo much ☺️
Thanks!
Everything you make just leave me amazed 💕💕
Oh thank you, that's so nice to hear :)
Thank you so much for teaching the right way for show us 😍🥰
Hi , thanks so much I did this recipe and it really is a lovely soap. My family loves it and I even gave some as a gift to my neighbour, she loves it also. All the best
Hi Elly! Thanks for your clear explanation. I can't wait to make liquid soap by myself. I became more confident to make it after watching your video. Best regards from Indonesia! :)
You’re very welcome, I’m so glad!
Thank you so much. I have learnt a lot. I’m happy you did it on the stove as I don’t have a crock pot.
You're welcome.
Made my first soap batch ever with your amazing assistance, & plan to use this as shampoo. I love a challenge, and look forward to trying your soap bar recipé next!!
How did it go as a shampoo?
Hydroxide is not good for your hair!! I would never use this as a shampoo.....not good!
Thanks Janet, I see much liquid soap in your future! You might find my other LS recipes and calculation method videos helpful too. Good luck!
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking I will check them out.
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking Thanks so much for that. I did it and it worked!
I made this soap and love it. And love your wonderful explanations and guidance throughout the process ❤ thanks so much
Hi Samantha, I do use this for body wash too. It's a good all purpose liquid soap :)
This video is incredibly straightforward and very informative! Thank you for this!
You're very welcome! Thank you :)
It worked!
Hey, that's perfect! Yes you have to watch a soap pot carefully. They can volcano at times.
Just for your reference, there are differences between demineralised and distilled. Very good and informative video btw
Thank you, will try this out!
Thanks!
You're welcome! Thank you so much :)
I’m so glad I found you! I’m going to make it today! Thanks for sharing a great well explained recipe! ❤
Please be aware that a facemask designed to catch dust particles does absolutely *nothing* to prevent you from breathing in caustic fumes.
Yes. But there are chemical respirators that do the trick
I think that one is impregnated with charcoal and is rated for organic fumes.
The funes are mostly hydrogen and oxygen
If you wear a mask while making the lye solution, you should wear the mask as soon as you open the KOH-Container. A lye solution does not fume, but the KOH-flakes let of some fine dust. I would also advise to use a double boiler. It really helps to keep the suspension of fats and lye together and the soap doesn't get burned.
Hilarious years ago them haters in soaping 101 group swear those ph strips don't work to tell pH. Ppl get on my nerves.
Yes I've always done my research and made my own mind up about things. They work well enough for me :)
I'm so glad I found this video. I just began making soap and I'm considering trying liquid soap. I just didn't like the whole crockpot method seems to take all day. When I get the courage to try I will definitely try it this way.
Thanks Kalisha, that's great. I'm sure you'll love it, it's nice and fast for sure :)
I'm glad I watched this. I used to make liquid soap and it was always so cloudy. It turns out I didn't realize I needed distilled water. I am getting ready to make my shampoo and face wash for the first time in years. Wish me luck!
Good luck!
Thank you, superb. Will try to make it soon. Greetings from Bali. Indonesia
That's awesome. Enjoy! :)
Thank you very much for the detailed video, tips and advice. I am just making mine now and it looks beautiful.
Thank you, I’ll definitely try your recipe with lemon essential oil
Love your videos! The way you explain everything is so easy to understand! Thank you so much!
Hi Elly, Thank you for being so kind to have shared this recipe freely.
I have been longing for a " detailed liquid soap making" for a long time.
Thank you so much for your amazing teaching skills too. You are very good at it👍👍👍💯%
Please can I substitute Olive oil for Canola oil or soybean oil and achieve this good result ???
I will greatly appreciate your favorable response.
Thank you Elly.
Loved this recipe due to the fact it was easy to make. If you do not thicken this liquid soap, it works really well in foaming soap dispensers.
That's great Robin, thank you!
Is it thick ? How does it feel on skin ?
@@ktaylor2332 It is not thick. You have to thicken it. It feels nice, cleans well, and rinses off without leaving a residue.
I'd add more water in the dilution phase Melanie. Liquid soap does clump, but worse if too concentrated :)
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking thanks Elly -I followed yours to the letter so I do 1:1.5- should I add another .25 of distilled water 💧? or eliminate the salt concentrate ?
Absolutely a wonderful recipe, excellent explanations and very detailed. Thank you so much. I will try it!
Amazing. There is no curing time for liquid soap like the solid one.
You can let it sequester for a couple of weeks, but as long as it tests safe it can be used right away.
