I'm doing a Chronological run of Seinfeld on Netflix for the first time. I had the DVD set from the 2004 reissues but never attempted to watch the episodes one at a time from the beginning...until now.
Both the roles of Morty Seinfeld and George Costanza were originally played by Philip Bruns and John Randolph (respectively) but they were the replaced by Barney Martin and Jerry Stiller (respectively) who then reshot their scenes for syndication with the episodes The Stake Out and The Handicap Spot (respectively).
They interviewed the writers for this show and one of writers said they wrote a show where Jerry met a Spanish lady that works at the United Nations. Jerry was so impressed that he started telling everyone about his new girlfriend. Jerry noticed that his new girlfriend was frequently leaving in the middle of the night to go to the U.N. and she wouldn't tell him why.
One night she was leaving, she told him that "there's a spill at the U.N." -- it turns out that she was a cleaning lady at the U.N. building. Larry David didn't like it so they didn't make it. I would have watched that episode.

The reason Al Yeganeh (the soup man) wasn't too thrilled was because he's an Iranian Jew, so he really didn't much like the "Nazi" comparison. Did you know that the Soup Nazi episode wasn't the first time Yeganeh was referred to onscreen? Rosie O'Donnell's character has a line about him in Sleepless in Seattle.
