I was at Jerry’s standup show in Melbourne in 1998 not long after “Seinfeld” finished and he was telling a story about a woman he dated and a lady in the front row interrupted him, saying “was she sponge-worthy?” He was not impressed and put her down, saying something like “you know what’s worse than interrupting someone in the middle of a story? Doing it with a joke you heard from the person you’re interrupting!” It got a big laugh and I actually felt a bit bad for the lady, who must’ve been pretty embarrassed, but on the positive side she didn’t interrupt him again. My friend who went to the show with me was the brunt of Seinfeld sarcasm during the Q and A, when he asked “What are you going to do now that your TV show has ended?” to which Jerry replied: “This. I’m doing this. You’re in the audience for it!” My friend said: “No, I mean….” but Jerry had moved on to his next questioner (and possible victim).
Season 3, Episodes 17-18, “The Boyfriend” - Keith Hernandez and the Second Spitter. Who can forget “Back…and to the left. Back…and to the left. There HAD to be a second spitter!” The episode came out when the movie JFK was so popular, and Kevin Costner used the same phrases to describe why there had to be a second shooter.

Awesome! As mentioned in a comment above, the first season and some change are a bit rough as the writers find their footing, but it’s worth powering through once the show hits its stride. And you have to go in knowing that Jerry and co are meant to be presented as shallow and bad people, but are still funny even when making really dumb choices. It’ll totally be worth it in the end! Plus, a fun game to play while watching is how many actors can you spot before they got famous
Have patience, by the end of season three, the show reached a peak that stayed through most of the following four seasons. The final two seasons are somewhat of a crapshoot.

One of my fav eps is "The English Patient" episode where everyone keeps dragging Elaine to see it and she hates it. I hate that movie and like Elaine, all of my friends were telling me how great it was and how I had to see it. It sucked. It was 3 hrs of sand. I got my 1st apartment in the 90s, so "Seinfeld" was on the "schedule."
I feel like Elaine in that episode constantly...there's always some TV show, movie, music album or video game that people can't stfu about and rave about like the greatest thing ever and I just can't see the appeal. Even if I do give it a shot...IMO it ends up really sucking & I feel like I wasted hours of my life. Definitely proof that taste is subjective and nothing is explicitly good or bad because it's based on the individual
