  • Exceptional Engineering: Hightech in the Air
    At Munich Airport, the world's most modern long-haul aircraft is ready to take off from the runway. The engines start and almost silent, the passenger jet rolls faster and faster to the end point of the runway and takes off. For Lufthansa, the first aircraft of the type A 350 has made a big step into a new world of passenger flight. Airbus' latest aircraft, due to its capacity and condition, is ideal for a Munich hub.

      Boeing lost its credibility and public trust. I'll never fly Boeing. Not only did Boeing knowingly allow dangerous aircraft to fly it also conspired to down play and limit the damage to its reputation. The FAA is no longer a leader in passenger safety its only interest is to protect psychopaths that run Boeing. Completely unacceptable.

    • @theothistledon6935
      @theothistledon6935 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@iawarenow658 The reason the jet stalls is the jet engines are too far forwards.
      Boeing put the jet engines forward because they would not fit under the wing.
      To try to counteract the tendency to pitch up they devised a software solution that didnt work effectively.
      The jets erroneously pitched upwards which caused them to stall.
      The result was pilots wrestling the controls trying to nose down.
      That couldn't work because software was instructed to nose up.
      Ultimately the software solution caused the jets to crash.

Sort of like a flight simulator aircraft building program!! True scale 1:1...facinating!!! Oh and as far as those controls... I'm sorry but I would want a joystick or a yoke or something I could wrap my hands around!! What if you were flying in turbulence or bumpy weather???
    ....Maybe its just me...but I'm old school on somthing like that!!!

    Am I the only one that noticed when it said about Concorde, it actually showed some footage of the TU144 instead? 🤓

      I also was surprised. At 24:18 is shown TU-144. But at 24:14 and 24:16 It's something different than TU-144, because Tu-144 had delta wings, but variable-sweep wings on the video, like wings of TU-160 bomber.

    • @sotirissinanis1188
      @sotirissinanis1188 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Balazs Totfalusi That could be the Boeing 2707 concept which at first it was designed to have a variable sweep wing. But as problems were accumulating, they put aside at first the variable sweep wings and, as the financial support was running out, the concept itself. Boeing 2707 never saw the sky.

      This is a B787 DreamLiner not a B737 Max

    • @theharper1
      @theharper1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Paul Litchfield not the same software or issue. The 737 Max had a tendency for the nose to lift due to the extra power and high positioning of the engines. The software attempted to restore the aircraft behaviour to be consistent with earlier versions. The 787 is a completely new aircraft (as the Max should have been) and doesn't have the same issue and therefore no MCAS.

    • @theharper1
      @theharper1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Paul Litchfield MCAS came about because Boeing wanted the type certification for the 737 Max to be the same as other 737 variants so pilots didn't have to train for a new type certification. The Max should have been a whole new aircraft instead, but that would take too long and they would lose market share to Airbus. Sadly, the MCAS design failure has had the same result. Someone allowed a flawed piece of software to be used, and it has killed people. :( There's nothing physically wrong with the Max. It could be flown perfectly well without MCAS.

    I often read or hear that Airbus test flights at Toulouse use the Airbus private airfield. I have often landed at Toulouse Blagnac, and never noticed, from the air, any runways other than those that are used by the scheduled flights I take. In this video we clearly see a building marked "Toulouse Blagnac". The Airbus which crashed during a test flight took off from Toulouse Blagnac and was intended to land at Toulouse Blagnac. There is an excellent video here on TH-cam relating that accident. Worth watching, particularly if you believe that test pilots would never omit to respect safety considerations.)
    So, does anyone have any proof that Airbus has a private airfield at Toulouse?
