Hi mate nice vid, the reels look great. Been watching a couple of vids with guys casting these and using the Cs for the first time. General consensus is absolutely awesome reel, brilliant in fact... But..... A major complaint is the mag knob is in the wrong position, where it is situated it digs into your wrist when retrieving line/laying it onto the spool when the hand is in the normal spot on a low mount rod. To the point where it is dam uncomfortable and leaves a mark on the wrist. Not just one guy whinging about it either, they had 4 different top casters/fishos all saying the same thing to the point where they wouldn't use it for that reason A fix would be to swap its position with the ratchet switch or have a less intrusive dial. Absolutely raved about the reel in every other aspect. Cheers.
Hi Donovan, sorry I can't really give you any advise as I don't fish the east coast of USA or any of USA, I'm based on the south coast of England haha, sorry mate you better off asking one of your countrymen :) tight lines
@@TheD510addict not 100% probably the wider spool called for new design and tools to make it? I could be wrong about the bearings and they may well be upgrade from the 15's. I haven't stripped them down completely yet. I might do that and I'll pop a video up of what I find :)
Fishy Specimen Hunter If you do end up doing another review I'd love to see some detailed information. Especially when it comes to the fitment and sizing of spindle. As well as some idea on the spec of the bearings.
So exactly the same side plate but with a massive knobby mag on the Cs which hinders the user and forces them to change their fishing style, why didn't they just keep the other style twisty mag or the slidey mag or atleast done some research on were to put a nobby mag. Already people online selling these after 2 or 3 uses or refusing to buy them because of the big knobby mags location.

Great review, thanks.Maybe do an update later on once you've used it a few times .
I'll take the 15 love what they have done with their new fathoms
Very good video sir. What surf rod would you say is a good fit for surf fishing along the East Coast of USA for the new Fathom II 15 platform?

Penn mag 4 rock&surf
How you likig the Fathom II 15 CS now ?
Bren are the bearings on the mag special the same type as used in the standard 15 fathom?
As far as I know yes, they are the stainless steel bearings found in the 15 and the 12.
John Collins Mag Special = Casting Special? If so, why the huge markup between the 15 and the 15cs?

What’s a good rod for the casting special?
I was thinking a tsunami airwave
Can you measure the diamter of the spindle?
I will measure it up, and comment here
