If you're going to have arguments like this, make sure you're wearing your cruising suit and that you're enjoying a long ferry ride down the Mississippi.
Reminds me of cornhole, but I like how trying to knock an opponent's puck off the board can give them more points if you don't hit it hard enough! I could have sworn this game was played with much bigger pucks, and something resembling a curling rod, though...
There are versions like that. I've seen one that are at the scale of air hockey tables, and ones that you describe. Regardless, the rules are the same, I imagine.
The first time I ever heard of shuffleboard, it didn't look like this. It used a triangle/Pyramid setup, with the triangle at the very front worth 10 points. The row after that had 2 sections worth 8 points, the third row had 2 worth 7 points, and the last row had a section that read 10, and another that had the word OFF.
Looks like a great game for lengthy arguments "does it overhang", "does it touch two zones", "is it the furthest or is it a tie"

Time to get a ruler
Ah so that’s why it’s seen as an old people stereotype. They love to run off at the mouth since they have nothing else useful to do in life.
I hope you'll cover the ancient Egyptian board game of Senet, it's far older than chess but not as widely played like chess itself.
based on wikipedia, we still don't know the exact rules...
But can puck do En passant?
Well yes but actually no
Of course
yes but you have to shot while the opponent's one is passing
thats chess move
@@zakiajacobprecioso408 doubt you got the joke🙃

The described game is "table shuffleboard", hence the discrepancy. :)
@@deedeeen Oops; sorry. I get easily confused. The shuffleboard I'm thinking of must played on cruise ships and places like that.
@@LeotheTiger1234, not a problem. The game you were describing is indeed named "shuffleboard". :)
@@deedeeen Okay. Thank you. As a kid I played "Shuffleboard for Windows" on the PC, and it was the way I described it.
I love shuffleboard. Its one of my favorites.i also love skeeball cornhole horseshoes and frisbee ❤
Ah yes. Old people: The Game
Is that like the analog of European Backgammon?
@@sashagornostay2188 I'd say it's the analog of European Boule/Boccia/Pétanque/Bowls or whatever name a country calls it.
Is it still in play if the puck rebounds of the back wall and back into the scoring zone?
I'm getting flashbacks to the Shuffleboard minigame in Madagascar
Thank you!!
Curling: Outta Ice Variation

So you don't have to be on a cruise ship in the 60s?
No, but it certainly helps, given their often very smooth wooden floors
The rules are the same as regular Board except for these changes...
