    This guy did nothing wrong. He was scammed by his ex wife and her mother. Daddy Freeze was wrong to make it look like the guy is not bright. The guy explained the reason why his name was not on the paperwork for the house; his credit score in the UK did not qualify him to buy the house. The guy with red hair behaves like a child.

      This is the reason the world is the way it is no love, how can one claim to love someone without trusting them. Good people are now called mumu, where is this world going to. People like this always get the wrong humans, I have been in a similar situation. Evil is celebrated these days as being wise, that's the world we live in.

    This guys story adds up real good and you need to be in the diaspora to understand his position. Most of the risk Nigerians take in the western world to survive is mind blowing and it cuts across the sexes. I am a Real Estate Consultant and this is what we see everyday.
    However, one lesson to learn in his case is to study your environment very well and learn how to guard your utterances very well. Your girl is 22 years and very close to her mum, you didn't handle that very well. Don't argue with a woman because if you do, there is a likelihood that what you say in that argument will be used against you and the actual problem will be swept under the carpet.
    You need a lot of growing up to do. Your inlaws will not fault their daughter and you need to relax with your control issues. Get these prophetic merchants off your life and get a lawyer to help you. If you are legally married and your marriage is legal in the UK, you are still a 50% owner of that real estate especially if it was acquired during the duration of the union. Your mother inlaw is toxic. Be very careful. Anyone who can take your house can take your life.

      I agree to some of the things you but not some. He obviously has control issues as you said which was a problem and like someone here said, he must have used wife and mother’s names to make it even possible for him to be approved for the house. People that know how abroad works know that he did NOT BUY THE HOUSE since it’s a mortgage! So one pays monthly after some down payment which may not be much at all. How then did wife and mom take the house if there’s obviously still sooo much mortgage to be paid over MANY Years for them to own the house? Ridiculous! How many people can BUY a house outright? Rarely. You said people should avoid arguing with a woman or what they say will be used against them later. It is common knowledge that real threat and unaliving women and girls usually start from ignored threats, so a threat that may be masked in an argument should be taken seriously. That’s also why most civilized places take a verbal threat as serious as the action as should be. People should stop saying what they can’t, won’t or don’t intend to do, there are consequences…should apply to both men and women. That is not “his” house obviously and this is his wife and even MIL that made the purchase possible! People lie a lot when it suits them. He talks as if he just went into a store and bought something and then a stranger from outside came and snatched it from him. DF asked some pertinent questions and story started falling apart. If I ask him a few more, all will fall apart. You said for anyone to take one’s house, they can take their life? Haa! That is so far fetched as a house means nothing much and it’s equally the woman’s house, in this case this “supposedly” proud man of the house was not prideful enough to not need his MIL to help with even getting the mortgage approved.

    It is unfortunate what happened to the guy; he seems like a good guy. However, he needed his wife to get the mortgage because, in the UK, you must have a good credit rating and a viable job for any bank to consider your mortgage application even if you have the money to make the first down payment, I am not sure the guy could meet all the conditions at the time as someone who moved newly to the UK. Hence, since his wife then had a good job and a good credit rating, it makes sense to buy it in her name. It is sad that it turned out badly

      It still not enough not to include his name. Yes, the wife's credit and work history are paramount but his financial records and previous work history outside UK would have counted. @@Amy-yw3lh it's not that straight forward and it depends on the bank in question. most UK banks would not allow him add his name anywhere On the mortgage . Getting a mortgage is not as easy as it was many years ago . The wife must have lied on the application that the deposit belongs to her and her mum therwise they wouldn't have been approved. The simple solution I decided to apply to my situation after my divorce was to develop myself properly so I could have options in life. My advice to all African men living in America or Europe is simple: build a solid career, go back to school, make more money, give yourself the privilege to have options when it comes to women. If your wife isn't making you feel the way you deserve as a man, you can either divorce her or live separately. There is no point living in the same house with a troublesome woman, especially because your kids will see you as a monster whenever you're in an argument with their mother. So, the best thing is to live a separate life outside of your marriage. Only a man who has developed himself, like I said, can afford to live such a separate life. Our men should learn to work on themselves, rather than wasting their energy on trying to make a marriage work, because women these days are not wired to live as wives in the prestine sense of the word.

Instead u sat there and let him dig you into the ground concluding with you saying you were a mugu. You are a man, take this advice and learn to walk away from people that will treat u bad. Daddy freeze, he is not a mumu. What he is saying is right. He won't have been able to buy a house in the Uk when he is not a resident and no evidence of the income. And because is a mortgage it have to be paid every month hence he won't be able to that because the money is suppose to be coming out of his account. What he did was the right thing if he wants to get a house. Friends are even worse.
    I know this because when my husband was about to buy our house in UK, despite he is a British man, but because he was not working in the UK then and was not a resident at that time because he works in Nigeria then, he needed his brother who was working staying there there was the who helped him get the house. In conclusion he did what he needed to do at that time to get the house. The wife and family are bad xx

    • @da1nonlyobi
      @da1nonlyobi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You dont need to be a citizen or a resident to buy a house in UK or US if you are buying the house out right. You just need some sort of paper trail on how you get the money. Now if you want to mortgage the house, the bank need to assess your ability to pay them back the money(principle+interest) on monthly basis. This is where employment and credit history come into play.

      Yes once its bought in the marriage. He would have had a constructive trust. If the marriage broke down there is no way he was going to be able to keep it unless he could have prove he can secure a mortgage by himself to continue the repayments. The house would have had to be sold or the ex is paying the mortgage so it makes no sense what he is saying. At worst he lost some deposit money. But they did not have the house long enough to even begin paying off the capital amount of mortgage. The court would have treated the deposit as money belonging to the marriage.

    My 99-year-old Dad lives with me. I'm American. I grew up with my great-grandmother and grandmother in our home. But let's understand "Old folks home" there are those called Assisted Living which is where the adult can live on their own. They may still be driving and going out. The difference is they have someone in the facility to help them with certain things. They have activities for them like trips to Bingo or Casinos with people their age. These facilities can range from $6,000 a month depending on how luxurious it is. Ah, if an old folk's home have a swimming pool, indoor pool hall, and movie theater why on Earth would that person want to live with their children? The other is a Nursing home and that is where the elderly are sickly and need around-the-clock care from a medical professional. Do we understand how hard it is to take care of an elderly person who will walk out of your house at 2 am and not know where they are and you're calling the police to help find them? The only way either of these becomes a terrible option is when the children put the parentstherer and never seethemn again.

    I don't think DF handles this properly, you can't blame this guy for loving and trusting his wife. This wife never loved him in the first place, the mother is very toxic. The lady is very inmatured, she will regret it later. This guy should not be blamed for what he did, this is the reason our community is the way it is. There is no love at all with our people, how can you fault this guy. The ex-wife and family should be blamed not this guy, this is the reason why evil is thriving in this world because wickedness is considered as being wise.

    One thing with we Nigerians is that we don't like to learn and understand the laws of the country we are living. I live in Russia, Russian law in this case is fair. Any thing you buy or owns before marriage is untouchable in case of divorce. But things you buy inside marriage will be divided into two, in case you have children it will be 70 - 30%. 70% will go to the person who will be with the children.
