Hey man I got a question do you think the game might end up becoming too Nintendo switch maybe is there a possibility with it being Bandai and then bringing God eater and all the rest of them to switch please get back to me thank you. The reason I’m asking is cause I know some games that they released like dragon ball Z. Kakarot Released on switch this year so I’m thinking maybe they’ll eventually release it
You swayed me into buying this game, they should pay you for promotion. These were exactly my concerns after playing the demo that there are no cinematic cutscenes. Thanks mate!
Really glad I looked into it further after the demo and found this video. The Tales series is my favorite, and while I don't want/expect this to be just like Tales, the demo really didn't show much of anything beyond the combat, so I was concerned about the presence of a story. I think you've sold me on pre-ordering.
honestly when i played the demo i already felt the game was similar Tales series at least from the story telling pov. Game play on the other hand is kind of different. really a mix of a couple of games. i was actually even skeptical after playing thru the demo at first only a few reason. While i like the combat in the game. I am not really a huge fan of Tales series. But dont get me wrong Tales series have some really great games too, but I am just not a die hard fan of that series. But i still end up getting this game day 1. And man I was glad i did that and did not assume stuff about the game just by the demo itself. This is probably one of the best new game I have played so far in 2021. I am onlyl about half way on Kasane's story and I already cant wait to see it from Yuito's viewpoint. Please dont sleep on this game.
Monster hunter stories looks waaay too damn good for what its suppose to be. I was blown away by how beautiful it looked, even the animations look amazing and it has atmosphere.

yes this video is pretty damn spot on. Do not sleep on this game. It is way better than what many have given credit for. The demo is really only a very very small piece of what the game actually is. Not to spoil anything but the story also turns out way interesting than it seems on the surface. Quite a bit of dark twist and turns that would likely surprise you. This is a very story focus game and you also can tell the amount of attention to details even on those regular chat scenes like what the video said looks like static scenes but not entirely true. My personal experience with this game is it starts just okay for me. In fact really slow at first. But as I progress like 3hours in, i felt so much more attached to the game and it just get more interesting along the way to the point I am so curious what actually happened to another character from his viewpoint. Yes choosing your start character does makes some dramatic difference not only in game play but also the story. am close to half way on Kasane's story and so far it already made me a fan of this new IP. Cant wait to watch the anime coming soon next couple of days.
I pre-ordered the deluxe edition because I can't wait for this game, but also because I want to help show that games like this have a big fan base. I need more.
I saw some clips and screenshots that showed alternate costumes for the characters. I really hope you record your playthrough for this game, i really enjoyed your code vein playthrough dai.
Same as before, I'm still going off info from the preview. There are alternate costumes but I don't know how many there are or the kind of variety they offer at the moment.

As many have already said, thank you for the video because, strangely, the specilized media still haven't covered these aspects of the game and I was worried after I played the demo that it will be really linear game with very little things to do. But maybe it is still seems similar to Astral Chain in my opinion
Hey Jay RPG, got a question about the game that I can’t seem to find an answer for anywhere: how does the two protagonist story work exactly? Do we play one character all the way through or do we jump between the two sides of the story freely?
One character all the way through. Both stories intertwine so you cross paths with the other character but they are pretty different experiences. I'll be able to talk more about this soon.
Elements of it remind me of Astral Chain, a game where I was shocked by how much I loved it. Think I'll grab this. Also, I'm subbed to this channel and have been for ages, but never get any videos in my feed. I was linked here from reddit. Stupid TH-cam.
Yeah, youtube is pretty terrible with notifications and video feeds these days. :( I'm glad you still managed to find it though, and it's nice to know people are linking my videos in other places. :)
My priority with games like these is combat. Does it flow well and does it offer depth? The former was great and with the 4 powers at your disposal allowed variety to combat. I do hope there will be more for each character though to further the depth.
I'm hoping for more physical attacks to add to each character's moveset. We know the partners get more to what their powers do and they're already very versatile. That said, having enemies that really push your strategies is also important later in the game. They have at least shown quite a few different Others not seen in the demo.
There's different outfits (4 for each character confirmed so far, could be more) plus there's also 3 visual accessory slots for each character with potentially hundreds of different accessories (sunglasses, hats, wings, masks, etc).
Did you experience any bugs? Because in the PS5 Demo I had this one bug where the character would get stuck in one of the corners/edges of the map and chaotically runs back and forth no matter what direction you move the analog stick in. The only way I got out of this was by detargeting the enemy. Was pretty frustrating and even almost killed me once... I loved the demo but this was kinda annoying
Can't say I experienced anything like that, in either the full game or the demo. If it was in a very specific location, I wouldn't expect it to be a common issue; likely just something that slipped past QA in the demo.
@@JRPGGaming Yeah it pretty much only happened in the boss arena, just once with Kasane because her arena was pretty open and big, it happened way more often with Yuito for example. His arena was a little bit smaller and more confined. Anyways, thank you for your reply. Hope this doesn't happen in the full game to me, looking very forward to it!
Bamco promoted what they could without giving away the whole game, and gather people's attention to a new IP these days is not quite easy. Scarlet Nexus is going to be a sleeper hit based on critics and good word of mouth. The anime will also help the game a lot.
The demo is a lot easier than the game actually is, especially at that early point in the game. The demo gave you a full party with reserve members for what is essentially the first major mission/quest in the game, plus the brain map is already unlocked with multiple upgrades which also isn't the case in the full game at this point. Hard mode should be challenging enough for most people in the full game. I played the preview on Normal and that first boss wasn't exactly a pushover with only 1 party member.
I love this. Bandai is basically trying to make my 100% perfect game, combining Tales RPG qualities and character with great action combat, and they're trying two different approaches at the same time: Scarlet Nexus starts with an action title and adds in the Tales stuff, while Tales of Arise is starting with a Tales game and pushing toward the action scene. Either way, they're really covering their bases in the best way possible for me. :D On top of that, PSO2 New Geneis gives me a similarly balanced game with the MMO structure. I'm going to have a lot of trouble managing my time this year. XD
Fully compatible with all controllers as far as I know. When I played the first 3 hours at the preview session it was running on a PC and initially played with an Xbox One controller before I switched to a Keyboard & Mouse to see how those controls felt. I can't remember if the controller was fully remappable (I think it was) but the keyboard/mouse definitely was.
I can't answer this with 100% certainty because the preview only covered the first 3 hours but in the early stages most of the party members are different between the 2 routes because Yuito and Kasane are in different OSF platoons. It seems as though you will get access to the larger pool of party characters as you progress further into the game so there might be a couple of characters you only get access to in each route but I think most will be available at one point or another. Regardless of which route you play though, all the characters are part of the story. There are character events, side quests, etc where you'll run into a lot of different characters, and the main story itself has you crossing paths with all the other characters frequently.
@@JustJulyo Ok...Your comment made it sound like you thought the game was only on PS5. What does your internet speed have to do with it if you only have a Switch? 🤔
@@Artemis583 in retrospect I should've worded differently but basically what I wanted to say I wanted this on the Switch because lately games have come out with huge GB files that discourages me from getting a next Gen because I wouldn't be able to play them since they take up so much data
@@JustJulyo If you bought a physical copy of the game, ps4 or ps5 either way, you would not have a huge file size issue for this game like what you are saying. And...if a switch version did exist and had required updates you'd still need the internet to download those, too. Sorry, but it just did not make any sense to me. It doesn't really matter though lol, have a nice day. 🙂
This year, July 1st. Technically it's already started because Funimation uploaded the first episode to their youtube channel but the official broadcast premiere is July 1st.

I stil take this as god eater game ,along side the 3 games, code vein and this XD Altho my fist reaction i though this be like Astrol chain but whit red theme
this is easy a day one purchase for me and one of the best looking jrpgs in a long time. If ur a anime or jrpg fan idk how this is a wait for a deep sale type game.
Game combat is similar to astral chain. I like astral chain's combat a bit more though, but then again I hated it at first lol. I think further down the line the combat for this game may be a lot better.
Astral Chain was my GOTY in 2019 and I just don't see/get the combat comparisons lol... Like, I get the comparison in aesthetic but I don't feel like the combat in these games is similar at all. Astral Chain has 1 of the most unique action systems ever conceived, it revolves around controlling 2 separate characters at the same time with a physical tether between them that is also actively used in the combat; Scarlet Nexus has nothing like that.
@@JRPGGamingWell you do frequently switch between characters (powers I guess) like in astral chain ( at least I do). Also, Psychokenisis is similar to a skill I use a lot and that's chain binding. where you throw your astral beast at enemies. Also different beasts/combos for different enemy types as well is similar. It's not a 1:1 comparison, but it is very similar imo. Especially with the way enemies are setup.
I played demo today and it does not convince me to buy on day one.. the battle seems .. clunky? the male character seems to miss more than hit. while female is OP.. Code Vein seems more polished
Most people I've talked to think the opposite lol. They think Yuito is much easier to use than Kasane, the sword providing more immediate control over the attacks making misses less frequent... so I'm not really sure what to say to this. The combat in Scarlet Nexus isn't supposed to be played like Code Vein or a souls-like, it's a different kind of combat system.
Just sad that these games are only a single player experience. Best doesn’t mean it will be the most played game since you have other games also do things the opposite way and potentially put their fans in a nutshell (I mean FF origin) Well, just hope somehow I would gain back something from Bandai after a lot of their recent products are putting to the bin or actually do not please their fans. Not sure why I paid more money on SE products nowadays than what I used to with Bandai since they seems to push out new products without looking back on what they did with their other games and rework upon that (it’s kinda like JP Blizzard rather than EA for pumping out … just enough products to scratch the itches)
Yeap! The preview session was played on a PC, no issues with the PC version based on the preview. Keep an eye out closer to launch for a full review where I'll be able to go into more detail and report any major issues if there are any. :)
still feels like the game is very linear with it's map design, you seem to go from start to finish in a linear fashion and mobs spawn at point A B C through the map, reminds me of astral chain, which i didn't liked for that specific reason.
I get your point but you're making it sound like the game is perfect. Which really makes me doubt because you didn't mention any problem or anything of the sort. Btw do you know how is the performance on standard PS4 for the whole game? The demo played fine but once I saw the city on the video now I'm getting nervous.
The reason I haven't mentioned any problems is because I don't have any to mention yet. I've played the demo (both routes) and the first 3 hours of the full game (Kasane's route), there just simply isn't anything negative I have to say based on my current experiences. No game is perfect, though. When I have the chance to fully play the game and review it, I'm sure I'll have a problem or 2 to share.
Xillia 2 was developed in just 1 year. I find what they achieved pretty extraordinary for such a short development cycle, most of it's flaws stem from the lack of time (the debt system, for example).
I think this game having two routes already makes it very different from a Tales game in terms of narrative structure. For one, it's probably going to be a lot shorter like 20hrs unlike most JRPGs which are 60+hrs.
Producer Iizuka estimated 40-50 hours for 1 playthrough back in August last year. Tales of Xillia had dual protagonists with different story routes, the Director of Scarlet Nexus was one of the senior devs on Tales of Xillia. The difference here being that Xillia had a strict deadline so the 2 story routes didn't end up differing too much where as the story routes in Scarlet Nexus differ a lot. Having 2 different stories doesn't affect the narrative structure of each individual story. 1 route will give you a complete narrative.
@@JRPGGaming i was hoping it would be something similar as NieR:Automata, where you need to complete the story with 2B and 9S to unveil the true story.
the only thing i want to know is how much of a stuttering mess the pc port is. because i am so sick of those... i didn't pay almost 3k for my pc to play stuttering shxtshows. what engine does it use? i'll never buy anything using unreal engine and or unity ever again. never ever.
The first 3 hours I played for preview were running on a PC. The non-demo footage in this video (and ALL of the footage in my actual preview video) is gameplay captured on a PC. Not sure why you're implying all unreal engine and unity games stutter on PC.... those 2 engines comprise the vast majority of releases on PC these days, most of which have absolutely no stuttering issue.
That's good to know, as although I loved the combat in the demo, I felt the game had just that to offer and felt too generic. Furthermore, I HATED the female lead as she looks VERY boring in terms of personality. I'm considering pre-ordering, but I think I'll wait for the ones after the reviews.
My time with the full game was on Kasane's route, I suggest checking out my Scarlet Nexus preview because I cover some of the early storylines she gets tangled up in. Trust me, she isn't boring.
Actually, Kasane's major flaw of how she acts to most people is what interests me going into a game like this. While it's possible it would go nowhere, I would expect quite the opposite from the developers of Tales, and it makes me interested to see what it's like when she's forced to open up more through the story. Same with Shiden. Okay, he's a jerk, but that's a setup. Where does it go when we have Kasane going through a whole substory with him? Making them cross that bridge could be very interesting to watch.

There's different outfits (4 for each character confirmed so far, could be more) plus there's also 3 visual accessory slots for each character with potentially hundreds of different accessories (sunglasses, hats, wings, masks, etc).
Amazing video thankyou dude.👍
i cant wait for this game! i been bought it!
How does the combat hold up against Astral Chain? Toe it looks and feels more AC than any other anime game.
Can you dodge cancel in the full game?
Is there a difficulty past hard.? On the demo hard mode was pretty easy
Subscribed!!!!
On top of that, PSO2 New Geneis gives me a similarly balanced game with the MMO structure. I'm going to have a lot of trouble managing my time this year. XD
I preorderd it on PC via Steam, what about Controller functions?
Fully compatible with all controllers as far as I know. When I played the first 3 hours at the preview session it was running on a PC and initially played with an Xbox One controller before I switched to a Keyboard & Mouse to see how those controls felt. I can't remember if the controller was fully remappable (I think it was) but the keyboard/mouse definitely was.
@@JRPGGaming Thanks! Are the characters exclusive to one route?
I can't answer this with 100% certainty because the preview only covered the first 3 hours but in the early stages most of the party members are different between the 2 routes because Yuito and Kasane are in different OSF platoons. It seems as though you will get access to the larger pool of party characters as you progress further into the game so there might be a couple of characters you only get access to in each route but I think most will be available at one point or another.
Regardless of which route you play though, all the characters are part of the story. There are character events, side quests, etc where you'll run into a lot of different characters, and the main story itself has you crossing paths with all the other characters frequently.
I really wish this was ported to Switch as I'll probably never get the next Gen consoles
A real shame since it has so many things I love in JRPGs
This game is out on PS4...
@@Artemis583 I only have a Switch and don't have high speed internet to download huge file size game/patches
Isnt there going to be a scarlet nexus anime this year?
This year, July 1st. Technically it's already started because Funimation uploaded the first episode to their youtube channel but the official broadcast premiere is July 1st.
Well since you have the full game, can you tell me if the 2 main characters can share squad members?
I can't answer this with 100% certainty because the preview only covered the first 3 hours but in the early stages most of the party members are different between the 2 routes because Yuito and Kasane are in different OSF platoons. It seems as though you will get access to the larger pool of party characters as you progress further into the game so there might be a couple of characters you only get access to in each route but I think most will be available at one point or another.

@@JRPGGaming Thanks for the reply man. Can't wait for this game.
I stil take this as god eater game ,along side the 3 games, code vein and this XD
Altho my fist reaction i though this be like Astrol chain but whit red theme
Didn't the demo have a character creator? I'm pissed
Uhhh, nope?
Scarlet Nexus has never had a character creator, not in the demo or otherwise.
look like somethin i would buy deep sale i hope pc get demo too
this is easy a day one purchase for me and one of the best looking jrpgs in a long time. If ur a anime or jrpg fan idk how this is a wait for a deep sale type game.
@@JungKooksTwin because port will be garbage with denuvo
I'm so glad the story's good cause I've just started code vein since it's on sale, awhile the gameplay is great, the story is hot garbage.
Next week is my week.Got this game coming to my Series S.Get my PS5 digital on Wednesday.
Combination Vision a lot of more like ultimate move something brain field
Just sad that these games are only a single player experience. Best doesn’t mean it will be the most played game since you have other games also do things the opposite way and potentially put their fans in a nutshell (I mean FF origin)
Well, just hope somehow I would gain back something from Bandai after a lot of their recent products are putting to the bin or actually do not please their fans.
Not sure why I paid more money on SE products nowadays than what I used to with Bandai since they seems to push out new products without looking back on what they did with their other games and rework upon that (it’s kinda like JP Blizzard rather than EA for pumping out … just enough products to scratch the itches)
Sounds like you should be writing in a diary
Massive disagree. Single player is the only way to make these games.
Was this on PC? If so is the port good?
Yeap! The preview session was played on a PC, no issues with the PC version based on the preview. Keep an eye out closer to launch for a full review where I'll be able to go into more detail and report any major issues if there are any. :)
@@JRPGGaming Thanks mate! really appreciate that.
still feels like the game is very linear with it's map design, you seem to go from start to finish in a linear fashion and mobs spawn at point A B C through the map, reminds me of astral chain, which i didn't liked for that specific reason.
So is the game semi open world?
Nah its a linear game with some areas for you to explore. Not a sandbox game either.
@@lapsedilationdrive3943 But it has side quests and level grinding so you go back to different locations, etc. So it’s not linear.
Hmmm... Being the director of Xillia 2 is not something that makes me more excited for this. 😒 I felt like Xillia 2 was one the weakest Tales games.
@@JRPGGaming The recent achievements have shown some really big spoilers
@@JRPGGaming i was hoping it would be something similar as NieR:Automata, where you need to complete the story with 2B and 9S to unveil the true story.
@@JRPGGaming It seems like I called it. According to some reviews, each campaign is in fact 20~25hrs lol
Old age and you're not even 30? Wait till you're 40.
It was a good game but the environment and enemies were really bland and not enough combat and too much story
Plays nothing like Code Vein this guy is all cap
Who said it plays like Code Vein?
the only thing i want to know is how much of a stuttering mess the pc port is. because i am so sick of those... i didn't pay almost 3k for my pc to play stuttering shxtshows. what engine does it use? i'll never buy anything using unreal engine and or unity ever again.
How can you hate something you barely experience?
Actually, Kasane's major flaw of how she acts to most people is what interests me going into a game like this. While it's possible it would go nowhere, I would expect quite the opposite from the developers of Tales, and it makes me interested to see what it's like when she's forced to open up more through the story. Same with Shiden. Okay, he's a jerk, but that's a setup. Where does it go when we have Kasane going through a whole substory with him? Making them cross that bridge could be very interesting to watch.
Astral Vein 2.0 or Code Chain 2.0 lovely game, going to get it because of this video alleviating some issues and scares I initially had.
