I also 100% fudge the rules sometimes too. There was a point early on where I was told a traveler had information for me; located south, on the shore. I searched the entire region and couldn't find anything for a literal hour. Turns out I had a 50/50 chance of drawing the right card on the shore and I had no idea. When I discovered this, I just said screw that and found the "correct" card. Their core of the game is 9/10 for me but their storytelling and inner works of the Story/missions needs work
Basically the same thing happened to me - but the correct card was already banished. Couldn't figure out where I messed up, and decided to look through my banished cards after doing the wrong thing for ages. Bent the rules - was able to talk to the person, and moved forward in my adventure
Regarding Tom’s mention of the quest where you failed on a card draw, if it’s the drums one where you’re looking for the guy repairing the bridge, it isn’t over if you fail on the draw. You can keep searching and retry on each new bridge spot terrain you find. I think I finally lucked into finding the guy after like 4 pulls.
Tom nailed it. I had original KS with all exp and stuff and i have to say it's too much for a board game. I really enjoy the TTS mod for it and would put my money if it gets implemented on ipad
Thanks Tom for holding the box upside down 🤣

I got my copy, but I have yet to dig into it. Interesting to get an overview like this and some opinions ahead of time.
Thanks!
My face seeing the character faces 💀
Those don't even look like generated by the cheapest AI on the market.
If I backed this I would be really angry at the "art" direction.
thank you so much. New reviewers are fantastic and should do more videos with them!
I don't know if you are joking, but Violet and Ruby are two of his kids.
Love reviews with the family. Some of my best gaming times are with my daughters. God bless you and your gaming family :D

Great review. Good opinions from your daughters.
Great review, Tom and family!
"drums of desolation and.... This one" avoids having to pronounce it
Really curious how the kickstarter version will compare to the retail version with less cards.
Love Vasel family reviews. Tom's kids are so smart for their age
LOL if you crushed him down enough it could have been edible😂

The art in this is so off putting. It’s too ugly to even be an uncanny valley situation though. It’s just bad.
I like it. It's grotesque, but it suits the tone.
Books are indeed awesome
That's a very beige looking game.
the art on the cards has much more vibrant colors. overall, I am happy with the palette they used.
Sorry Violet, hope you weren't too keen to continue!
Me too. 013 card are the weakest part of the game. Everything else is epic and stressful and everything else you'd want in an adventure game
Sorry folks but that cover (if right side up) looks a lot like a … you know
A skull?
@@whittaker007 nope
A receptacle of sorts?
@@DrMcFly28 That's a bit too deep for the comments.. no pun intended.
Both your girls are very intelligent with their answer.....I could tell you older daughter is nearly more like dad..😉
