I absolutely love how Rem can choose to speak English, depending on the circumstance. Like she knows the protagonist can't speak Japanese, so she rubs salt in the wound by doing it on occasion.
This is so in-character for Rem, post awakening in the later novels. Lol
Man it's been years since I read anything about Re:Zero I'm surprised she actually came back.

But she does speak mostly generic in context lines like "drop your weapon immediately" or "do you have the card key" "this needs a card key, baka"
