      @@max_wav Oh sure, she SAID that, but that doesn't mean that's what happened. If you had made up a lie for attention as a teenager, which ended up having huge consequences for your whole family because they believed you, how willing would you be to admit to that lie afterward? Maybe you feel bad about how it affected the person you lied about, but you are afraid of the consequences of just coming right out and admitting that you made it all up. So what do you do? You make something else up to ease the family into the truth. Something that isn't directly your fault. Something like "Oh, I think that might have just been a dream after all, which I confused for a memory. Sorry!"

    Just because someone gives a weird amount of detail doesn’t mean it really happened. There’s actually a thing that happens with liars where they go into way too much detail. If someone ever does that, where it seems like they just have an over abundance of details to give, there’s a pretty good chance they’re lying.

    • @Archiver_Studio
      @Archiver_Studio ปีที่แล้ว +327

      That is the main thing that exposes them
      If they go into unnecessary or just downright suspicious levels of detail then they are most likely lying
      Nobody should have so many details if they have experienced something traumatic to such an overly detailed degree

    • @AndragonLea
      @AndragonLea ปีที่แล้ว

      Cops count on that. That's why they usually have several interviews spaced days apart. It gives compulsive liars a chance to make up very elaborate information and then forget the details and contradict themselves.
      The more into detail they go, the higher the chance that they'll mess up because there isn't actually a vivid, horrifying memory of an actual event to keep it anchored, just a bunch of BS they have to keep straight.

If a person doesn't know how to lie and you ask them details they can't think of anything so details being there is actually better imo. It's worse when the person lying actually knows how to lie

If a man were to be harassed by a women most people would be blind to it think that "she is just into you" even though what she is doing is not normal where a man harasses a women they get punished (and rightfully so since SA and SH are both bad). In both cases I was exonerated by closed circuit camera recordings that proved that the alleged contact and criminal behavior DID NOT ever happen. In both cases my accuser was fired immediately. The 1st complaint was filed by a pedo that tried to make a victim out of me. And in both cases, the women on 1 side of my own family have continued to react as though those complaints somehow had merit, especially after it happened to me a 2nd time. Update in video is false.
    Real update:
    It's been a while since my last post and I can't count the people asking me for an update. So I tought I'd post one, even though there's not much to say. First, I'd like to get a few things out of the way:
    Thanks all who wrote and offered support and advice. I'm sorry I couldn't reply to all, but know that I've read them. Also, thanks to everyone who reached out to distract me with talks about my hobbies. I know I wasn't very respsonsive, but I know you meant well. To the openly hostile ones, borderline threatening me to quit anti-depressants and counseling and instead accept into my life. No.
    Many people told me I should pursue legal action. I didn't mention this in my first post, but I decided against that long ago for a few reasons. Best case, she would get a slap on the wrist and I wouldn't gain much at all. I just don't think it's worth the legal headache. And if I somehow would end up losing, I'll owe her legal costs.
    A lot of people have been messaging me about the fake updates. As I wrote in an edit to my other post, there are some fake updates on Tiktok and TH-cam. So if you saw something on other platforms that you didn't read in the text below or in the post linked above, it wasn't by me. While I don't really care about people making fake updates, I just want everyone that read my original post that these videos are not by me. Someone even claimed they "had access" to my original post on r/relationships, which contained these "updates". That is false.
    With that cleared up, I'll add what actually going on with my life right now.
    Know that I wrote the original post in an anger and because I was completely lost on what to do. I needed a kick to the head and I got that within like the first 5-10 comments. That was really all I needed.
    I've met my therapist. I was first scheduled for september, but she managed to move it and we've had two talks so far. She also read the original post and many of your comments. While she would've perferred me to confide in a colleague of hers, in the end she was glad you guys told me to calm down a bit and wait. She knows first hand how I can get when angry.
    I wont go through everything we talked about, but it comes down to that I may respond to my parents at some point, but if I do, it wont be anytime soon. I've started writing everything down that I want said to my family and then my therapist and I will go through those things continuously. For those who asked, they haven't tried to contact me further.
    I WILL NOT be updating this issue anymore. Not on reddit (including DMs) or anywhere else (in case of more fake updates). Nor will I be commenting unless it's something very important. I don't want to be rude and I appriciate all the support, but it really is draining sometimes. I was almost glad when the moderators locked the comments on the first post.
    I'd like to end by saying thanks again to all the people who's been wishing me well and checking up on me. And for the people writing to check that I'm still alive, don't worry. You don't have to do that. I'm off work for a while and not by the computer much. I'm busy painting my garage.

It suck for sure but people make mistake and you shouldn't deprive yourself of your parents because they fucked up big time, the best they can do is to admit their mistakes. I mean, definitely stay away from E and their family but you should have your own parents if they're willing to have you back. If they obviously aren't good enough for you at the time then obviously cut ties with them. I can't imagine the hurt he feels but that's why he needs to build his relationship back up.

  • @1019nothing
    @1019nothing ปีที่แล้ว +1189

    I'm not a psychologist or anything but it seems to me that E made the sexual assault story up for attention. Maybe saw it in a show, saw a character get attention and support from the people around them. And that drove a desire in E for the same affection. (I've personally witnessed this) thus, when the time came, where she could be the center of attention and affection, she told family of her fictional sexual assault. I'm sure the family asked who and she probably tried to come up with something believable, her own cousin. They have been together and OP was a 16yo male teenage in the middle of puberty when this supposed assault took place. Which I'm sure drove the lie into being even more believable (probably not intentionally). And when shit hit the fan when OP got shunned from the family, she knew she fucked up but cared more about how she would appear to her own family than OP's life being fucked sideways raw. So she held onto the lie. E had to feel guilt because she never took this to the law or convince her parents not to take it to the law. This just shows how someone who wanted a little affection and attention can ruin another person's life. I'm glad this story got a happy ending. Unfortunately this rare. I know a guy that went through a extremely similar thing but never recovered from it, family still disowns him, even when a huge rumor came around about how the fictional victim accidentally confessed it was a lie, the family hasn't budged. I haven't seen him in over year, I hope he's still hanging on.

My best bet as to why is because she didn't want me to come forward about her SAing me. To be honest i didn't realise what she did was SA until this situation happened and i spoke to the solicitors about it. It makes my blood boil that for years _(before and after this situation)_ when i tried to come forward about me being assaulted, I was never believed and accused of lying but she was believed instantly.
    She stole my dream college from me, tried to steal what little friends I had and destroyed my relationship with them. Told the youth groups i introduced her to that i was a sexual predator and they had quietly blacklisted me from any events they were doing. I was a social pariah everywhere I went. And I know that nearly 10 years later, there's people who probably still believe her. I still feel so angry about it all. I truly wish i never met her.

    This is why I'm now a firm believer to NEVER believe anyone without hearing both sides first. I used to think believing anyone who claimed they were SA'd first was the best move, but it's been a few years now, and there's more and more cases of people just blatantly LYING about this and ruining so many innocent people's lives. I know a lot of people would rather go with "guilty until proven innocent" but I think "Innocent until proven guilty" is a much better way to handle things. I'm so glad I watched this because not only did it give ME some hope for MY own future, but it also helps me get rid of whatever remains of that toxic, bullshit mentality of believing "victims" without evidence.
    I'll absolutely support anyone emotionally who claims they were SA'd, but I will absolutely also always hear out the other side as well. While SA is a touchy subject for me as I'm a victim of it myself, I will not blindly believe everything someone says just like that about it. This video really drilled in my brain what I was already learning, so I'm glad I clicked on it.

I would like to have kids and she too, but she though it would be good if i have a vasectomy and later reverse it, then we there rdy for children. i than tell her that my doc told me that reversing is not possible everytime and most likly not if years pass buy. Her answer was: "thats not a problems, than i get a sperm donation from a random dude and you can raise it!" She broke up with me the moment i said no to this and as i say: i am the abusive ass for not wannt to raise a strangers child.

      Only about 1/7 women suffer SA in their entire lives--and that includes a lot of crimes less than completed r***, like groping or even certain verbal threats. Of those that do, 54% suffer it the first time before they're 18 and, of those, 7/8 are SAed in circumstances where their birth fathers aren't in the household but some other male (usually mama's bf) is. So, basically, we could cut SA in half just by strengthening marriage--far more, actually, since the number one factor in determining criminality is whether someone is raised by their actual father or not. (Source: The National Crime Victim Survey, so this is anonymous self-reported crimes, not based on police or court reports.)

    It’s stories like this that made me so worried to talk about my experiences with SA. I was very young when it happened to me, and the the guy and I kept a very average relationship on the outside while he hurt me for years.
    I thought nobody would believe me bc of that. But when people did believe me, I got so scared that everything would change and I’d ruin his life. He’s my cousin and I still loved the guy. I also just didn’t want attention on me for that. I’d felt so ashamed for “letting it happen to me” and it had all come out against my wishes (my therapist had to legally tell my parents I was in danger).
    When it got out, he had just graduated and the first thing on my mind was “If I say something, I’m going to fuck everything up for him and I don’t want that.” My therapist ended up getting it out of me and I had to beg my mom not to press charges.
    Idk how people can fake shit like this just to ruin people’s lives when I couldn’t even do it when it was true.

    Reading this and having known a girl who the cousin reminded me I can say I glad I noped out of that relationship before it could get bad for me. For context I had a female "friend" who I saw over a period of a few years slip deeper and deeper into crazy . It started with a guy she had a brief relationship with before that turned sour or something. As a result she first started believing she was a victim of her own "mental problems", blaming everyone for not supporting her etc etc. It later turned into a dream scenario where she claimed that she was raped by him and how she is a victim etc. etc. It also came out she was still stalking the guy years after they part way (which makes no sense if you believe him to be a rapist). I stop believing her story years before that so I always stayed on the sidelines but after she tried dragging me into her made up scenario I started ignoring her. She cut me out and blocked me cause I did not believe her. A while later she did try reaching out but I ignored her again. Reading stories like this really makes me feel I dodged a massive bullet.

      @@antikommunistischaktion while I definitely agree that false accusers should be punished for lying as this is a seriously crime, a lot of actual rapists don't even do that much time, so with our current system that doesn't even protect real victims and prosecute real assailants, false accusers would probably get a slap on the wrists. The best course of action for a lot of people in OP's case will likely continue to be defamation and libel cases

    I'm just happy this man was able to find a partner. All those years unable to have love must have been unbearable. God bless him and let him forgive his family for his own sake.
