But what if I have two modwheels? My midi controller only seems to be responding to my automation when I right click, not in to anything in the auto section.
Great tip in mapping. I'm trying to map kontakt pitch bend to a knob on my midi controller, but seems out of luck. Is it possible mapping pitch bend? Could you please post a video? Thank you
Hey Jay. Thanks for watching. Pitch bend is not a MIDI CC control - it's its own thing. A work around in Kontakt could be to MIDI learn its "Tune" control (knob in the upper right corner of every Kontakt instrument) - but the Tune knob typically has a greater range than what is needed via the pitch bend. There are other ways to accomplish pitch bending via MIDI CC (like adding a "MIDI CC" modulator attached to pitch in the "Source" section under the hood) - but these approaches can be difficult to implement on pre-existing Kontakt instruments because of everything else that's already setup. And you have to select the right sample Groups to apply the changes to. IF this sounds confusing, it can be unless you're making a Kontakt instrument from scratch. As another idea: maybe your MIDI controller has its own mapping editor that will allow you to "move" or assign the pitch bend to another knob.
@@kylez4097 Hy Kyle,Thank you for the feedback, my midi controller is Akay MPK Mini, but I think that this controller cannot assign or "move" the pitch bend to another knob. I've tried this (maybe there is a thing missing). I email Akay with this question about assign or "move" the pitch bend to another knob and I'm waiting response. I will try the "MIDI learn" tips you posted. Hope it works. Thanks.
Hi everyone !Help me, please. I have a digital piano with a pedal as a controller for Kontakt's Grandeur in Cubase but I can't use the pedal because when I press the pedal the yellow mute symbol is activated and cuts all the audio from the piano. Does anyone know how I set it up?
But there is NO midi learn on Snapshots which would make life easier changing from one snapshot to the next snapshot or previous snapshot. NI needs to add this so we can change snapshot presets on our midi keyboard/controller. I only have the ability to keep my Korg Kronos 88 to the side of me so I use a wireless mouse but it sure would be easier just to click a button to change to the next or previous snapshot! BTW thank you for the information.
8 Years later this is solving problems for me. Thank you so much for the straightforward and super informative video.
Kyle, This is great info. Thanks!
Awesome stuff.. I'm stuck trying to adjust the touch sensitivity/response in Kontakt, any idea?
Anyone know the difference between MIDI CC and Host automation and why you would use one over another? Thanks.
Exactly what I needed thank you !
Great technique. Thank you Kyle.
