    Isn't it amazing how when you actually want to make a video, the yard work starts. Lawnmower go brrrrrr

      😂 Or tree clippers, or weedwackers, or leaf blowers. Aren't there electric versions of these now?!

    Would be nice if Reaper had its own version of Kontakt, so you could have several plugins on a single track and just direct each one to go out to a different MIDI channel. Literally just spent about four hours yesterday trying to hack together a version of this using the Container. Managed to get it working, but it was a massive ballache.

    I wish I had this video a couple years ago, it would have saved me several hours of trying to figure it out on my own

      @@janborgwardt8502 so it's a feature exclusive to kontakt 7? That makes sense then

    How awesome! I'm on 4:50 and still don't see how it's working. How good and easy is to be a musician with Reaper...

    I know you went through this manually so people can know what's actually happening, but this really can be done in seconds. Not only does Reaper offer to set up your routes in the Insert Virtual Instrument dialog (as you showed), but there's no need to really do anything in Kontakt either. Just load up all the instruments you want to use, then go into Output > Batch Functions > Clear output section - and shit is done.

    Thanks Jon. I was actually going through your blog a couple of days ago wondering if youd done one for Kontakt 7.
    I downloaded some midi files recently and have been having bother with them and was wondering if i should do it this way.

    What stock plugin would you suggest for 2track? For vocals to sit on top of... I'm mostly good with stems . But from time to time, I come across a 2-track, which is already high in mastered, etc

    Noob question here... Are you able to do something similar with Komplete Kontrol? I could just be missing something but I feel like I have better functionality on my s88 with Komplete Kontrol. (ie. Can see the plugin on keyboard, more functionality of lights to show instrument positions, etc). I have been loading individual instances of KK for each separate track but I feel like after watching this it *should* be possible. Thanks in advance for any help. Your videos are amazing and have helped a ton with me getting started with this journey!

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just checked and Unfortunately Komplete Kontrol can only load one instrument/patch at a time.
      You could still create a template of your favorite patches pre-loaded. With drum libraries you can template all the output channel routing.

      @@TheREAPERBlog That being said, Komplete Kontrol does load Kontakt within it. So, I think the question is valid still. If one uses Komplete K (with the keyboard), does this routing work from within it in Kontakt?

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Andysmusicaljourney you can only load 1 kontakt patch in KK, so MIDI channels on separate tracks is not needed. Kontakt plugin can load 64 instruments.

    What's the difference in doing this versus to load kontakt on each track for the instruments? Assuming in both scenarios we don't use kontakt effects

      Why use many Kontakt when one Kontakt do trick?

    • @odysseuskal
      @odysseuskal 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Afghamistam that's why I'm asking. There are people that prefer to do this cause they can put all the effects on the channel and route staff around. I don't know how heavier is on resources that way

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've heard it makes less difference now than it used to, with single instance taking far less resources. Use whichever approach you prefer.

      With single instances u get better multicore support. This method is for older cpus . Now we have 32 core consumer cpu these days. Kontakt’s internal engine supports 16 also not as efficient .

  • @SSloath

    How do I force reset the output section of Kontakt? I tried following along, it ruined my tracks, and now my output section has 1 stereo track outputting as "63/64" and no options to change it. Batch configuration options do nothing which is nice.

    • @SSloath
      @SSloath 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I found an old project, used the old Kontakt instance's configuration as the new default. Still can't get multi-out to work though

    • @SSloath
      @SSloath 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Making any changes to Kontakt's outputs defaults to 63/64 with no other options to change, I'm having a good time here
